The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas obtained a '206-count indictment' from a federal grand jury alleging that organizers charged between $50,000 and $70,000 'to arrange fake marriages between a foreign national and a U.S. citizen' in order to obtain legal immigration status, KHOU reported. By Monday morning, investigators placed 50 people behind bars.

According to the KHOU report, each person wishing to come to the U.S. would pay between $50,000 and $70,000 to arrange a marriage to a U.S. citizen to obtain lawful permanent resident (LPR) status. The fees were allegedly prorated and would be paid as each step was achieved.

Ashley Yen Nguyen, a.k.a. Duyen, 53, is named as the head of the organization headquartered in southwest Houston, the local CBS affiliate reported.....the indictment alleges that Duyen and others recruited U.S. citizens to act as petitioners in the sham marriages. They also received a portion of the proceeds from the beneficiary spouses who were moving to the U.S., KHOU reported.

Another person named in the indictment is Pearland, Texas, attorney Trang Le Nguyen aka Nguyen Le Thien Trang, 45, the KTRH report stated. The Pearland attorney is accused of obstructing and impeding the due administration of justice and tampering with a witness, victim, or informant.

Probably the most famous Vietnamese-Texan is former A&M and Dallas Cowboy Dat Nguyen.

Nguyen’s family left South Vietnam during the fall of Saigon at the end of the Vietnam War, and he was born in a refugee center at Fort Chaffee in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He lived most of his childhood in the Gulf Coast town of Rockport, Texas.

I saw UF offered him a scholarship.

“Note that no time frame for the crimes has been specified....”

Another of FraudCo’s electioneering initiatives.

The indictment, which remains sealed since not all of those charged are in custody, says the scheme began around August 2013.

This all began in the 90’s in CA.
Glad to hear TX has started house cleaning before it becomes unstoppable.

Many decades ago an ex-girlfriend confessed to doing this sometime after she was busted for it. It was over the phone and the last time I ever spoke with her. I don’t think she got any jail time but she was a legal adult so I’m sure it’s still on her record if she’s still alive. Sadly she was the daughter of an Air Force officer so it had to look bad for him even though she no longer lived at home. Apparently she was in college at the time of the crime. Really dumb thing to do. Like this bust; she was caught in a net of these fake marriages. Play stupid games; win stupid prizes.

I wonder what the punishment will be for these fake marriage crimes...

Remember the 1981 Eastern cult weirdos who lived in a commune of 1600 followers and took over the town of Antelope, Oregon. In 1984 the religious cult plotted to takeover the town council elections. They blatantly broke US laws.....they bussed in homeless non-residents from other cities to vote and poisoned 700 American residents with salmonella to make them too sick to vote.

The cult’s 1984 poisoning stunt was the largest bioterror attack in the US. The also planned to poison thw town's water supply until the CDC stepped in.

ALLS WELL THAT ENDS WELL---The cult’s plan failed b/c Americans were too smart for them. The cultists went ballistic --- thy grew violent and plotted murders and arson. In 1985, a cultist burnt down a County Planning Office because it reportedly contained documents relating to a real estate investigation of the cult.

The cult leader planned to flee to but was captured and detained during a fuel stop in October 1985. He was always chauffered in one of his 93 Rolls Royces provided by his weirdo followers.

The (cough) pious cult leader was charged with immigration fraud in connection with the arranged marriages he set up for followers to gain American citizenship. He was ousted from the US.

Actually, one of my best friends is a Nguyen who came to the US through Texas then moved to CA. He’s been a very successful business owner providing precision machined parts for the Silicon Valley. Nguyen is Vietnamese is like Smith in English.
