Choosing a wife A man wanted to get married. He was having trouble choosing among three likely candidates. He gives each woman a present of $5,000 and watches to see what they do with the money. The first does a total makeover. She goes to a fancy beauty salon, gets her hair done, new makeup; buys several new outfits and dresses up very nicely for the man. She tells him that she has done this to be more attractive for him because she loves him so much. The man was impressed. The second goes shopping to buy the man gifts....

Up until the end of the great war, Korea was ruled by Imperial Japan. After the US and Soviet Union defeated Japan, they came to an agreement to where they would both share the land for military purposes. The Soviet and...

After 7 years of Republicans voting to repeal and replace Obamacare, knowing Obama would veto their repeal, they boldly voted to do nothing as they control the House, Senate, and White House. Reminded me of the Beatles song and the 2018 congressional elections. I think the folks are restless. It'll be an interesting couple of years.

German Shepherds are living and dying in misery due to intensive breeding for “cosmetic” reasons, a major new report by the Royal Veterinary College has found. A survey of data collected from 430 clinics across the UK reveals arthritis, cancer, aggression and sloping backs are afflicting the breed at higher rates than others due to aggressive selection. Nearly one in two German Shepherds is being put down because they are unable to walk, experts said.

>>“The old (slave) spoke these words while praying, shouting, crying, and saying farewell to my mother. He had, in a manner, raised nearly all the colored people on the plantation; so he had a fatherly feeling for all of them. The old man looked down on me, and said, "My child, you are now without a father and will soon be without a mother; but be a good boy, and God will be father and mother to you. If you will put your trust in him and pray to him, he will take you home to heaven when you die,...

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said "it is time to move on" in a floor speech early Friday after the stunning defeat of the GOP's scaled-down plan to repeal key parts of ObamaCare. McConnell seemed close to choking up during brief remarks on the floor after falling short of his promise to repeal ObamaCare after three GOP senators voted against the "skinny" repeal bill. McConnell called GOP efforts to repeal ObamaCare "the right thing for the country," despite their final efforts to push for repeal being unsuccessful.

As a conservative Republican, I harbored concerns when I voted last November for Donald Trump to be my president. I knew that I had to vote for him, given the unacceptable alternative of an incompetent liar who had placed me in a basket of “Deplorables”; had destroyed 33,000 emails that she covertly maintained on her bathroom server while telling me that the emails all concerned yoga classes and wedding dresses; had lied to me and the families of those who fell in Benghazi about what had really happened there on another 9/11; and really had nothing to show for decades...

Pardon our dust, system improvements in process. John is making some fairly significant changes to our operating system tonight in an effort to tighten up security and possibly iron out some of the snags that have been slowing us down. So far, so good, but have encountered a few 404 errors on pings and mail, etc. But a reload brought up the pages and John says he should have that worked out soon. Light load tonight. The real test will be tomorrow during the heat of the battle.
