Well James Comey said he wanted a special counsel appointed, now he just may get one of his very own. Washington, D.C. – House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and Judiciary Committee Republicans today sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein calling for the appointment of a second special counsel to investigate unaddressed matters, some connected to the 2016 election and others, including many actions taken by Obama Administration officials like Attorney General Loretta Lynch, FBI Director James Comey, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The letter follows yesterday’s House Judiciary...

Sorry if there is a thread; I didn't see it. McCain, Collins, and Murkowski voted No. Republicans spent 7 years promising this, and they couldn't get it done. The Republicans don't like Trump all that much, but he is willing to fulfill their promise that they made. Meanwhile, McCain, the GOP hero, helped kill their promise.

Norway is currently enjoying a newfound level of popularity amongst tourists. Spurred in part by “the Frozen effect” that has seen tourism rise sharply since Disney’s 2013 film Frozen, which was developed with the support of Norway’s tourism agency, some officials began warning that the country was experiencing “too much of a good thing”. Now a number of politicians are suggesting the implementation of a tourist tax to help local communities deal with the influx of visitors. Local Nordland party leaders of the Socialist Left Party, the Christian Democrats, the Liberals and the Red Party have backed a new tourist...

A yearlong FBI investigation into Russian hacking has failed to produce a single indictment. Yet the president watches impotently as a special counsel pulls together a lethal force, inside his own administration, whose undeclared ambition is to bring him down. snip This is not a witch hunt. It is an Easter egg hunt on the White House lawn, where the most colorful eggs are likely to be the tax returns and the financial records of Trump, who built a real estate empire in a town where winners brag about how they gutted the losers. Every enemy of Trump is going...

Born on Monday, July 10, at the Philadelphia Zoo, the female Amur tiger cub was the only survivor in her litter of five; two of her siblings were stillborn, one died from an injury sustained by its mother and another suffered from a critical gastrointestinal issue. Despite being a tiny miracle, Zoya was rejected by her mother, 10-year-old Koosaka — a behavior somewhat typical of first-time tiger moms. So the Philadelphia Zoo’s animal care team jumped in to raise her, bottle feeding her and keeping watch around the clock. However, something was missing — namely, peers. “With this single cub,...

Police can take your money or property and keep it, even if no charges are filed. Clarence Thomas is famously taciturn on the bench. But his few words carry a great deal of weight. Though the matter has not yet come before the Supreme Court, Justice Thomas is very much at the center of a federal case with a name that sounds like it ought to have come from a William Gaddis novel: United States v. Seventeen Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars in United States Currency. The case has the potential to help rein in one of the most abused powers...

Taxpayer-funded sex-change surgeries would cost the Pentagon $1.3 billion over 10 years. President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that transgender individuals will not be eligible to serve in the military, with the White House citing cost and military readiness concerns. Internal data provided to the Washington Free Beacon from Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R., Mo.), a leading opponent of taxpayer-funded sex changes, show that even by using a conservative estimate, the costs associated with 0.7 percent of the military population is great. Hartzler's office provided a detailed calculation that shows estimates of the current number of transgender service members, and the number...

Boris Johnson, the British foreign secretary, has defended Donald Trump’s handling of relations with Russia, saying the US president has taken a more uncompromising approach towards the Kremlin than Barack Obama. BERLIN (Reuters) - Germany's defense ministry on Thursday defended the performance of its Tiger helicopters as part of a U.N. peacekeeping mission in Mali amid indications that Wednesday's deadly crash of one of the aircraft was due to technical factors. Two crew members were killed when one of Germany's four Tiger helicopters crashed in the West African nation's desert north on Wednesday, but there were no signs that it was downed by an attack, German officials said. It was the first deadly accident involving Germany's Tiger helicopters. Two crew members escaped with minor injuries during an earlier crash in 2013...

YOUNGSTOWN - When the voice on the other end of the phone said the president of the United States wanted to meet him, Geno DiFabio, a 54-year-old lifelong resident of the South Side, was skeptical. It wasn’t a completely unreasonable possibility. Just that morning, DiFabio had appeared on a Fox News show to discuss why he, a lifelong Democrat, switched parties to throw his support fully behind then-candidate Donald Trump. The voice – a White House communications official – convinced DiFabio that the call was legitimate, and they set a time to meet ahead of the president’s rally at the...

A report produced by an executive agency of the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office has argued that Evangelical Christians in the Global South should be expected to “reinterpret” the Bible to make it compatible with LGBT ideology. The recommendations, if implemented, would massively reverse freedom of religion across the globe. Barnabas Aid is seriously concerned at the implications of the Foreign Office’s involvement in pushing this ideological agenda and the implications this government involvement may have on freedom of religion around the world in the future. Once it is accepted that any ideology can be imposed on those who hold...
