Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson Sunday touted a flat tax plan that he says even the nation’s poor would pay if he’s elected. Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," Carson said it’s "very condescending" to think that poor people can’t pay taxes at the same flat rate as wealthier Americans. Carson said he got the idea for his plan – he calls it a proportional tax – from tithing in the Bible. Using a 10 percent rate as an example, Carson said "You make $10 billion a year, you pay $1 billion. You make $10 a year, you pay one dollar."...

Well this is certainly disappointing. With all of the newly emerging candidates running around the early primary and caucus states talking to anyone who will listen it gets difficult to keep track of them all. But there’s one bit of news out of Iowa from earlier this week which is definitely worth a quick rewind and a better look. Newly announced presidential contender Ben Carson was out talking to the Cornhuskers and the inevitable subjects of ethanol, the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and subsidies for King Corn came up. The answer from the esteemed neurosurgeon was dismaying even compared to...

Spread over 6,500 miles of sparse scrub and alkaline soil, Millard County is one of Utah's poorest. But for five years, the cash-strapped county so remote it was the site of a Japanese American internment camp in World War II still found $1,000 to send to the American Lands Council. The Lands Council's goal is grand but simple: to wrest control of vast swaths of land from the federal government and turn them over to the states. At stake are hundreds of millions of dollars, even billions, that could be made off land administered by the federal government. The big-dollar...

Former Obama Admin Aide Rapes 2 Women, Gets No Jail Time for INSANE Reason May 10, 2015 By Colleen Conley FacebookTwitterMore926 With the aid of a complicit media, liberals have become untouchable when it comes to nefarious and even criminal behavior under the Obama Administration. A serious double standard now exists; conservatives involved in scandals and crimes are still held accountable, while Democrats, more often than not, get a free pass. Case in point: last year, Donny Ray Williams, a former Democrat congressional aide, pleaded guilty to raping two women. According to reports, in 2010, Williams subdued his first victim,...

When Pope Benedict warned about “the Dictatorship of Relativism,” he meant it. Literally. This was hammered home not long ago when I was speaking to a group of students about the issue of same sex marriage. I prefaced the discussion with a description of relativism saying that this non-philosophy was now the mainstream, default setting in our society. “The way you can tell that relativism is mainstream,” I said, “is that there is no such thing as rational debate. In the absence of objective truth, there can be no debate, for a debate is dependent on the assumption that there...

As these aerial photos from The Post prove, Hollywood celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Barbra Streisand and Jennifer Lopez continue to suck up water to keep their gardens fresh and lawns green, while Southern California withers from a devastating drought. Experts predict California reservoirs have less than a year’s worth of drinking water left. An emergency law passed last week forces local cities to conserve water immediately. The Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, which supplies many of these elite enclaves north of Los Angeles, will have four weeks starting next month to cut water use by a staggering 36 percent. But the mandate is...

One California city is trying to make it happenOn the day “Mr. Padre” Tony Gwynn should be celebrating his 55th birthday, I was thinking of the best way to pay tribute to the greatest sports figure our city has called our own. While it won’t happen today, I think the best thing we can do in his memory is make sure his death teaches us a lesson and ban tobacco in Major League Baseball. Gwynn passed away June 16, 2014 from salivary gland cancer he believes was the result of being a longtime tobacco chewer. Gwynn began his cancer battle...

Pam Geller’s draw Muhammad event exposed many things. It exposed just how barbaric Muslims really are. But it also exposed something-thing else. Fox News and their pro-Muslim, pro-Sharia bias. Saudi Arabian Prince Al Waleed bin Talal owns a nice chunk of News Corporation, the parent company of Fox News. One might be tempted to expect those on Fox News to stand for free speech and Pamela Geller and against the ISIS terrorists. But what we learned this week was the exact opposite. With the exception of Sean Hannity and Megyn Kelly, Fox News hacks used the entire week not to...

Christy and Haseeb Amireh and their baby Grayson were greeted by family and loved ones at San Francisco International when they arrived home to the Bay Area. Less than 24 hours after two officers were gunned down in Mississippi, the sheriff of Milwaukee County — a frequent guest on Fox News — blamed the killing on President Barack Obama on Twitter, saying the president “started this war on police.” Earlier Sunday, Sheriff David A. Clarke, noted the shooting that claimed the lives on two officers, 34-year-old Benjamin Deen and 25-year-old Liquori Tate, in Hattiesburg. The sheriff re-tweeted: “Basic traffic stop in Hattiesburg, 2 Police Officers assassinated. The post Ferguson targeting of our Cops continues.”

Cecily Strong introduced each of the GOP presidential "hopefuls" with a series of all-too-accurate puns. The Southern Republican Leadership Conference looks way more fun when it happens on “Saturday Night Live.”“SNL” mocked the event in its cold open this week, playing up the gathering of GOP presidential hopefuls as “the hottest event of the year,” complete with dance numbers and a very punny DJ (Cecily Strong). Strong introduced each of the “candidates” with zingers that ranged from a little painful (did Mike Huckabee really turn Arkansas “from a red state to a shred state”?) to, well, funny — and rather accurate....

FOR years it was the pride of the Muslim community, a school that reached out to its neighbours and helped promote cultural understanding across Adelaide. Migrant students from across the globe were taught to be proudly Australian, regularly singing the national anthem and their own school song. But they don’t sing any more. A deep rift between parents and management threatens the future of the Islamic College of South Australia. Relations have soured to the point where hundreds of parents kept their children at home on Friday in protest against the school’s board and they say they will organise more...
