Ben Affleck went searching for his roots and ended up finding more than he bargained for. And he admits it. "After an exhaustive search of my ancestry for Finding Your Roots, it was discovered that one of my distant relatives was an owner of slaves," Affleck wrote on Facebook Tuesday, breaking his silence on the controversy kicked up by a leaked Sony email that revealed the actor specifically requested that that limb of his family tree be left out of his episode of the PBS series Finding Your Roots. "I didn't want any television show about my family to include...

With gas prices low, more people are trading in their hybrid and electric cars for purely gasoline-powered vehicles, including SUVs. So far this year, only 45 percent of people that traded in an environmentally-friendly hybrid car purchased another, according statisticians at Edmunds.com. In 2012, that figure was over 60 percent and this is the first time it has ever fallen below 50 percent.

One of the most glaring myths propagated by Washington — especially the two parties’ media loyalists — is that bipartisanship is basically impossible, that the two parties agree on so little, that they are constantly at each other’s throats over everything. As is so often the case for Washington partisan propaganda, the reality is exactly the opposite: from trade deals to Wall Street bailouts to a massive National Security and Penal State, the two parties are in full agreement on the bulk of the most significant D.C. policies (which is why the leading candidates of the two parties (from America’s...

Roseanne Barr has revealed that she is slowly going blind. The comedic actress said smoking marijuana is "good medicine" for relieving the pressure in her eyes. "It's something weird. But there are other weird things. That one's harsh, 'cause I read a lot, and then I thought, 'Well, I guess I could hire somebody to read for me and read to me.' But I like words and I like looking. You do what you have to do. I just try and enjoy vision as much as possible -- y'know, living it up. Barr also defended her use of pot, saying,...

Operation Choke Point, the Obama administration’s under-the-radar project involving the Department of Justice, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) whose goal is to shut down industries it does not like by “choking off” their banking relationships, is taking aim at another business. Brian Lynn, CEO of a Jacksonville, Florida based payday lending company that operates 26 stores in Florida, Georgia and Alabama under the Speedy Cash and Lending Bear brands, has been in business for more than 20 years. He confirms to Breitbart News that two major banks closed his company’s accounts with...

Thrifty Lefties?: Media fret over missile defense waste by Daniel Clark In reaction to David Willman’s April 4th Los Angeles Times article, the media have expressed alarm over wasteful missile defense spending. The report, which the Pentagon disputes, says that several failed initiatives have cost the taxpayers $10 billion over ten years. Although this only represents about one-eighth of the Missile Defense Agency budget, liberals have seized upon it to claim that our entire missile defense system is a boondoggle. There are good reasons to be skeptical of the Times report. For one, it describes the Sea-Based X-Band Radar system...

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has clearly awakened the Washington establishment beast. Not only is the liberal media and establishment right-of-center coming out guns-a-blazing at Walker over his pro-American worker position on legal immigration, but now Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)—the most pro-amnesty Republican there is, someone who worked for years with the late Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) on immigration—is leading a charge against Walker’s new position.“I think most statistics show that they fill part of the workforce that are much needed. We have, and I’m a living example of, the aging population. We need these people in the workforce legally,” McCain said...

Here is a Joke I though of! Two Congress Critters walk into a Bar and sit down. The Bartender moves over to their place at the Bar and asks "good evening gentlemen, nice to see you again tonight, would you like the usual?" One of the congress critters looks at the Bartender and says "It's been a hell of day on the hill, we'll take the usual and leave the bottles!" The Bartender says "two glasses, One bottle of whiskey and a bottle of rum coming right up!" The one congress critter grabs the wild turkey by the neck and...

Hillary’s old Ready for Hillary logo, an H connected by bunting, was on the bland side. But it was less awful than her new arrow H. Most candidates post-Obama are stepping up where logos are concerned, both Ted Cruz and Rand Paul are using flame logos, though Ted wears it better, Marco Rubio has an understated United States over the i that doesn’t look too bad, though both Paul and Rubio look like they’re starting a web design firm rather than a presidential campaign. Hillary’s though completely misses the point. It’s dated, crude and ugly. The exact opposite of the...

2015 should be a favorable year for the first major meteor shower of the Spring season for the northern hemisphere. The peak for the shower in 2015 is predicted to arrive just after midnight Universal Time on Thursday April 23rd, which is 8:00 PM EDT on the evening of Wednesday April 22nd. This favors European longitudes right around the key time, though North America could be in for a decent show as well. Remember, meteor showers don’t read forecasts, and the actual peak can always arrive early or late. We plan to start watching tonight and into Wednesday and Thursday...

Monday on MSNBC’s “Hardball With Chris Matthews,” President Obama said the many Democrats against the Trans-Pacific Partnership fast track are “making political arguments that aren’t always entirely accurate,” like “the other side.” Obama said, “This is better than the Colombian free trade agreement, better than the Panama free trade agreement, and the Korea free trade agreement that we just passed a couple years ago. So, some of this has to do with, I think, people’s legitimate fears and concerns. Some of it has to do with politics. You know, Democrats aren’t adverse to

In a radio interview Sunday, Princeton University ethics professor Peter Singer argued it is “reasonable” for government or private insurance companies to deny treatment to severely disabled babies.Singer contended the health-care system under Obamacare should be more overt about rationing and that the country should acknowledge the necessity of “intentionally ending the lives of severely disabled infants.”Throughout the interview, Singer repeatedly referred to a disabled infant as “it.”Singer was speaking on the “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio” broadcast on New York’s AM 970 The Answer and Philadelphia’s NewsTalk 990 AM.The Princeton professor is known for his controversial views on abortion and...

The intolerant homofacists are at it again, only this time, they are unable to claim the status of victim. Rather, they have demonstrated a willingness to carry their crimes far beyond sodomy to vandalizing a Christian man's business. And why? Because he took a stand for Christian morality in his place of business. Dieseltec owner Brian Klawiter took a stand last week and said that immoral behavior would not be tolerated at his place of business. As one example among many, Brian pointed to those who openly practice sodomy would not be welcome in his establishment. "There's a set of...
