Muslims who were among migrants trying to get from Libya to Italy in a boat this week threw 12 fellow passengers overboard -- killing them -- because the 12 were Christians, Italian police said Thursday. Italian authorities have arrested 15 people on suspicion of murdering the Christians at sea, police in Palermo, Sicily, said. The original group of 105 people left Libya on Tuesday in a rubber boat. Sometime during the trip north across the Mediterranean Sea, the alleged assailants -- Muslims from the Ivory Coast, Mali and Senegal -- threw the 12 overboard, police said.

Mexico City (AFP) - Authorities appealed for help among Mexico's population on Thursday to locate stolen radioactive material, the latest theft of such dangerous substances in the country. The interior ministry issued an alert in five southern and eastern states late Wednesday, two days after a toolbox-sized container carrying the Iridium-192 source was snatched from a truck in a residential parking lot in Cardenas, Tabasco state. Luis Felipe Puente, the national civil protection coordinator, urged ordinary Mexicans to be on the lookout and notify the authorities right away if they find the material, which is used for industrial radiography to...

That would be Hillary!, of course — a woman so dishonest and phony that she’s cannot seem to the tell the truth about anything: Speaking in Iowa Wednesday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that all her grandparents had immigrated to the United States, a story that conflicts with public census and other records related to her maternal and paternal grandparents. The story of her grandmother specifically immigrating is one Clinton has told before. Clinton’s sole foreign-born grandparent, Hugh Rodham Sr., immigrated as a child. “Her grandparents always spoke about the immigrant experience and, as a result she has...

Bill Shuster is chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Parenting can be tough. Really tough, actually. Kids are constant time and money sucks, but hey, you try your best. Unless, of course, you're one of these parents. Maybe these are the result of negligence. Maybe they're lifehacks that went too far. Maybe they're the result of sleep deprivation and caffeine deficiency. I don't know. Regardless, here's to every parent who's ever said "ah, screw it!"

A confession: Many years ago, I was an ultra-left liberal, a Marxist, in fact. As a newly minted attorney at law in New York, I joined the ACLU and volunteered serve as one of their lawyers. About six weeks later, they asked me to represent an American Nazi accused of inciting to riot. I refused. They were mightily put off, horrified in fact. They remonstrated. “But he has a right to counsel.” I said, “Maybe so, but he doesn’t have a right to me. I’m protected by the Thirteenth Amendment.” (The Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution abolished slavery and involuntary...

A woman was removed from a flight Thursday afternoon after she “poked” her seatmate with a pen to stop him from snoring before takeoff at Midway Airport, authorities said. The customer on Southwest Airlines Flight 577 poked the person in the next seat with a pen to keep him from snoring, a statement from Southwest spokeswoman Brandy King said. The woman was removed from the flight and the plane took off for Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, according to the statement. No one was injured.

There is a question I keep asking myself — is Barack Obama to blame for failing on virtually every front imaginable? I want the answer to be in the negative so badly that I fear I may be shutting out an ugly reality. Domestically and internationally, the US President’s policies have been a mix of brilliance and failure. On foreign policy I had hoped for so much from him. After an inarticulate fool such as George W. Bush, the world deserved something special from America. At the time of his election Obama was the answer most of us were seeking........

Soon there may only be atheists in the foxholes. Christians are leaving the U.S. military or are discouraged from joining in the first place because of a “hostile work environment” that doesn’t let them express their beliefs openly, religious freedom advocates say. Michael Berry, senior counsel at the Liberty Institute, a Texas-based legal organization dedicated to defending religious liberty in America, said recent high-profile cases of military chaplains facing punishment for private counseling sessions that reflected the teachings of their religion could cause devout Americans who are qualified for military service to think twice about joining the military. Brand new images taken on April 10 by NASA’s Dawn probe show the dwarf planet from high above its north pole. Photographed at a distance of just 21,000 miles (33,000 km) — less than 10 times the Earth-moon distance — they’re our sharpest views to date. The crispness combined with the low-angled sunlight gives Ceres a stark, lunar-like appearance. ... Meanwhile, scientists have assembled images taken by Dawn through blue, green and infrared filters to create a new color-enhanced map of the dwarf planet. The variety of landforms in conjunction with the color variations hint that Ceres was once an...

The Secret Service will have to drive Scooby One and Scooby Two back to Chappaqua without HIllary Clinton riding shotgun. Instead, she's flying coach and toting her own luggage. A United Airlines regional jet carried her back to the East Coast on Thursday from the Omaha, Nebraska airport. Her flight was bound for Newark, New Jersey, the major airport most convenient to her spacious Chappaqua, New York home.

Sen. Ted Cruz’s, R-Texas, state director has left his post to run a political action committee that supports Cruz, “Make DC Listen.” John Drogin embraced one of Cruz’s signature stump speech lines, “Make DC listen,” in naming the PAC, which will support Cruz’s presidential campaign as well as other conservative non-presidential candidates. Drogin was Cruz’s campaign manager in 2012 when the little-known Cruz won a come-from-behind race to beat then-Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst for the Senate. Drogin was earlier a press aide to Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas. “Americans are worried about the federal government’s crippling effect on jobs and opportunity,”...

For the first time in just over a decade, the U.S. House of Representatives today will vote on a bill to abolish the death tax, otherwise known the federal estate tax. H.R. 1105—the “Death Tax Repeal Act of 2015″—has bipartisan support, which is evident by its co-sponsors: Congressmen Kevin Brady (R-Texas) and Sanford Bishop (D-Georgia). Attempts to repeal the federal death tax acknowledge what the 32 states without a death tax already understand: a tax on an individual’s personal property, business assets and investments, even with a $5 million exemption, results in high compliance costs, little revenue and bad incentives....

Whatever one thinks of President Barack Obama’s overtures to Cuba and the accompanying prisoner exchange, an important consideration in need of immediate attention is an accounting of our servicemen captured in the Vietnam War and imprisoned in Cuban-operated POW camps. Of utmost importance is an accounting of the 17 American airmen captured in North Vietnam and then taken to Cuba for medical experiments in torture techniques.

The fragment forms part of an exhibition marking 70 years since end of WWII A Russian museum plans to exhibit a plane fragment from downed flight MH17, despite the fact Dutch investigators are still combing the area for evidence to establish who exactly shot down the Boeing 777. Local media published photos of the fragment brought from the militant-held area of Donetsk by a Russian veteran's organisation, to the museum in the Russian coastal town of Eisk near the Ukrainian border. The so-called souvenir will form part of an exhibition commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over...

Any mass shooting in America, let alone a single murder, is without a doubt a grotesque reminder of the evil that lurks in our communities. However, as much as I unconditionally grieve for the victims and their families, I refuse to blame an inanimate object rather than the actual lawbreaker. Liberals live to shamelessly politicize such tragedies – immediately blaming the NRA or Tea Party – hoping our Second Amendment rights will be ripped away by an inescapable vacuum of mass hysteria and mob justice. The same Constitutional terrorists who can’t keep gangs off the streets, or drug dealers out...

‘Business meetings, elegant suits, lace stockings, garter belts, hold-ups, stiletto heels. If only my colleagues, clients or boss knew that at night I enjoy my hobby of being a hooker.’ Her online advert advises that she is a native Dutch blonde who is a ‘high-class nymphomaniac and prostitute’. She describes her greatest passion as ‘raunchy kinky sex with wild strangers and naughty men’. Quote, a Dutch magazine, reported that van der Waal had a ‘supervisory’ role at her country’s central bank while specialising in sadomasochism in her spare time. After the magazine broke the story, the bank confirmed it had...
