Mediaite has learned from reliable sources that CNN’s sister network HLN is preparing for a significant amount of staff layoffs and show cancellations. According to our sources, much of the network’s dayside programming is going to be replaced with more entertainment-like material. Those changes will lead to staffing and programming changes. Changes have long been in the works at the network. Readers may recall how new CNN Worldwide chief Jeff Zucker reorganized HLN leadership this summer with the letting-go of EVP Scot Safon. SpikeTV founder Albie Hecht was subsequently brought in to lead the network after that. But ratings have...

Kentucky has been held up as one of the success stories of Obamacare, with its state-run exchanges running well and signing up thousands for health coverage. Kentucky officials say about 130,000 people will see their individual policies discontinued, while 150,000 small group policies will be canceled, AP reported. Sen. Rand Paul, Kentucky Republican, linked to the article on his Twitter account as Republicans hammer away at...

A group of 10 black youths blocked a white couple’s car in the New York borough of Brooklyn, brutally beating the husband and slamming the wife’s head into the pavement by her hair as they shouted racial epithets, officials said. Ronald Russo, 30, and his wife, Alanna, 30, were stopped at a red light Monday night when the group crossed Avenue U at East 58th Street, the New York Daily News reported. Mr. Russo honked his horn when the light turned green to get the youths out of the way, but they then began kicking the car, according to the...

“If you like your heath care, you can keep it. If you like your doctor, you can keep that too. Period.” This has now been proven false by any standard of measure. And we now know it was a lie. We now that because his own White House fact checkers – charged with vetting each speech before it is given – found that this was not true before it was ever said. They tried to change it. But the changes were not strong enough to win the hearts of the people, and his re-election depended upon that. So he said...

The 10-year-old girl whose body was found stuffed in a trash can had been starved to death by her parents, it was revealed today. The victim, Emani Moss, was found on Saturday after her guilt-ridden father called 911 and said he was about to commit suicide. At the time, Eman Moss told officers that his daughter swallowed poison and he and his wife dumped the girl's body in the garbage and tried burning it in panic. Now police have concluded that the 10-year-old had not been given anything to eat for more than a week before her death. The Atlanta...

Some federal workers who were required to remain on the job during the government shutdown said Monday that they have filed a lawsuit demanding double pay, arguing that the government’s failure to pay them on time is a violation of labor laws. The five workers, all employed by the Bureau of Prisons and required to work during the shutdown, said their paychecks in early October didn’t include money for Oct. 1 through Oct. 5. The workers said that meant they didn’t earn the minimum wage for their work, and they also weren’t paid overtime — both of which are labor...

A new Common Core-aligned lesson is teaching third-graders across the United States that “the commands of government officials must be obeyed by all,” and that “the wants of an individual are less important than the well-being of the nation.” Those un-American and unconstitutional concepts are being peddled to elementary students by the Pearson Education company, one of the nation’s leading producers of school curricula, reports MinutemenNews.com.The historically inaccurate lesson appears to be part of a Pearson Education unit that teaches kids about Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War – “Hold the Flag High” – while doubling as an English assignment....

A friend told me to go to a certain latitude and longitude on Google Maps. When I noticed it seemed to be in the middle of an African desert, I thought he was just sending nonsense. But when I zoomed in, my mind was blown. I noticed a tiny icon that looked like an airplane. So I did some more research and discovered there’s an incredibly tragic and beautiful story behind it. Here it is, from start to finish.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday said the Justice Department has not decided whether to file federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman in the 2012 killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman, a volunteer neighborhood watchman who shot and killed Martin in an incident that captured national interest, was acquitted of murder charges in July. But the Justice Department could still pursue a federal civil rights case. Holder said the agency’s investigation is under way. “I'm not sure exactly how much longer that will take, but we will get to a point where we are able to make a...

Now you see her, now you don’t. That smiling face on the homepage of the Healthcare.gov website was there over the weekend, but has now dissapeared — replaced by four colorful, circular icons. So, where did she go? Twitter’s got a few ideas. One user joked that she had become the first victim of the mythical Obamacare death panels. While another thought she simply might have known too much. In actuality though, it’s nothing quite that nefarious. The picture of the smiling young brunette, which was reportedly picked from a stock photo library, was removed from the site after multiple...

Catch the Little Foxes Today's Scripture “Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom.” (Song of Solomon 2:15, NIV) Today's Word from Joel and Victoria Everyone has opportunities to get upset and be frustrated every single day. Sometimes it’s the little things — we can’t find the car keys, traffic is backed up, somebody was rude, or what should have taken an hour ends up taking four hours. Something happened and now you are frustrated and all bent out of shape. There will always be something that can sour...

The Authority of Truth "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you" —James 4:8 It is essential that you give people the opportunity to act on the truth of God. The responsibility must be left with the individual— you cannot act for him. It must be his own deliberate act, but the evangelical message should always lead him to action. Refusing to act leaves a person paralyzed, exactly where he was previously. But once he acts, he is never the same. It is the apparent folly of the truth that stands in the way of hundreds...

It took just one play on Sept. 15 to suggest the game between the Southbridge Pop Warner pee wees and their rivals, the Tantasqua Braves, could mean trouble. Two Tantasqua players were hit so hard that their coach pulled them off the field. An emergency medical technician on the sidelines evaluated the boys, grew worried that they might have concussions, and had them take their pads off.

KITCHENER, Ontario, November 4, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) - An explicit sex exhibit aimed at children that raised eyebrows in Parliament when it was displayed at Ottawa’s Science and Technology Museum, is slated to open at the Kitchener museum in January, 2014. “The Science of Sexuality is a timely addition to our community and aligns well with our local Sexual Health Youth Strategy,” said Dr. Liana Nolan, Commissioner of Health for the Region of Waterloo Public Health in an intro to the controversial exhibit on the Kitchener museum's website. “It brings science and research into a fun, interactive and practical way to...

. What needs to be created is a "world-famous" website ... with as many daily visits as the "Drudge Report" ... where average American citizens record and tell how ObamaCare has destroyed their lives, including and up to innocent people who have died ... where medical doctors tell the tragic stories of patients who suffered or died because ObamaCare denied U.S. citizens either medicine or urgent care. The website should include Youtube style videos (that can't be censored or removed), news articles, reference sources, and the STORIES of MILLIONS of Americans who have been screwed (or worse) by ObamaCare. I...

On his nationally-syndicated radio program Monday, Fox News’ Sean Hannity read from Breitbart News’ story on Sunday about how the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has been targeting business opportunities of conservatives before establishment Republicans responsible for such tactics need to be removed from power in Washington, D.C. “Listen, I’m just telling you,” Hannity said after reading parts of Breitbart News’ story on the air, “some of these establishment Republicans need to go, because they’re basically just watered down versions of the Democrats. I mean, really? This is all going to come to a head.”
