The Miami Dolphins have suspended starting guard Richie Incognito for conduct detrimental to the team. Incognito was being reviewed by the Dolphins, the NFL and the NFL Players Association for harassment of teammate Jonathan Martin, who left the team last week following a lunchroom incident. "The Miami Dolphins have suspended Richie Incognito for conduct detrimental to the team," the team said in a statement released late Sunday night. "We believe in maintaining a culture of respect for one another and as a result we believe this decision is in the best interest of the organization at this time. Incognito, who...

John Spence, a diver often credited as the first U.S. combat "frogman" in World War II and an important figure in the rigorous training that led to the establishment of the Navy SEALs, has died. Spence died Tuesday at a care facility in Bend, Ore. He was 95. Because much of what Spence and others did during the war was under the Office of Strategic Services, the forerunner to the Central Intelligence Agency, stories of their bravery and resourcefulness were long classified as top secret. Only in the late 1980s was the secrecy classification lifted, allowing Spence to finally tell...

Hadley Heath's health insurance plan seemed to have it all. A low deductible, low monthly premium and comprehensive coverage that even included free preventative care. But Heath's insurer, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield just sent her a letter, announcing they will terminate her plan because it lacks "Essential Health Benefits," mandated under the affordable care act.Health is one of millions of people holding individual health insurance plans who are about to lose them. Florida Blue will drop 300,000 policies that don't meet the ACA requirements, while 150,000 Oregon residents who are signed up under individual plans will also lose their current coverage. California's...

In response to the partisan bickering that exists between President Obama and his political adversaries over things like the budget, Obamacare, and immigration reform, the question raised by many observers is: Why would Obama be willing to negotiate with Iran, but not the GOP? As it turns out, the answer to that question may have more to do with the president's and Iran's like-minded feelings toward America than Obama's desire to exert his influence on behalf of global harmony. After all, based on the damage inflicted in just five short years, it's possible that Barack Hussein Obama is better suited...

About 100 Tea Partiers protested President Barack Obama in Arlington on Sunday, as he was set to give his endorsement of Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe. The Tea Partiers, who held Ken Cuccinelli signs and shouted out questions regarding Obamacare, Benghazi, the Fast and Furious scandal, and other issues, assembled peacefully across the street from Obama-supporting attendees waiting to enter Washington and Lee public school."I just want to be part of showing the great support for Ken Cuccinelli and the great angst at bad government by Obama, and if McAuliffe were to be elected, the coming bad government–they’re two of...

Society crumbles when it takes cues from the underclass When Snooki, whose talents include getting sloppy drunk and throwing up on camera, made Barbara Walters’ “Ten Most Fascinating People” list a few years back, one could only ask: Was Octomom not available? Last year, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” which features a cornucopia of social ills, was TLC’s highest-rated show, attracting more cable viewers than the Republican National Convention, which had the misfortune to share the time slot with the charmers from Georgia. The show’s matriarch, June Shannon, has four daughters by four men, one of whose names she can’t...

CAIRO (AP) — U.S. Secretary of State John F. Kerry, in an apparent warning to Iran, tried to reassure America’s Arab friends on Sunday that the United States will not allow them to be attacked “from outside.” He specifically mentioned Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan and Egypt as nations, alongside unspecified “others,” that the U.S. will defend. Those others likely would include Israel, the strongest U.S. ally in the region. “The United States will be there for the defense of our friends and our allies,” Mr. Kerry told reporters in Cairo. “We will not allow those countries...

I just watched "Last Ounce of Courage" on Netflix...wow..absolutely beautiful! That's what I am waiting for from us - to wake up and fight. And they won because here is NO law that can stop us to fight for what we believe in - just intimidation. But for some reason intimidation works. We are letting it happen! If we could make sure as many American as possible watch that movie, may be, just may be we would wake up more of us and may be, just may be we could win back all those freedom that we lost and are...

UNION CITY, Tenn. — The gleaming white building with curved exteriors and a spaceship-like tower emerges from the flat landscape of West Tennessee like something out of science fiction, but it’s not a villain’s lair or superhero’s headquarters. It’s Discovery Park of America, a new museum, education center and tourist attraction that opened last Friday in Union City, Tenn...

Americans spend an estimated $5 billion a year on unproven herbal supplements that promise everything from fighting off colds to curbing hot flashes and boosting memory. But now there is a new reason for supplement buyers to beware: DNA tests show that many pills labeled as healing herbs are little more than powdered rice and weeds. Using a test called DNA barcoding, a kind of genetic fingerprinting that has also been used to help uncover labeling fraud in the commercial seafood industry, Canadian researchers tested 44 bottles of popular supplements sold by 12 companies. They found that many were not...

YOUR GOVERNMENT: 1. Legislation 10.11.13 YOUR GOVERNMENT: 1. LEGISLATION My fellow Americans. Either the government belongs to you, or you belong to the government. It’s either one or the other. This government no longer belongs to you, and it hasn’t for a long time. But we can fix that. We can make it your government again. Which is why, as your Virtual President, I would like to have a series brief discussions about the practical ways we can return your government to it’s original owners: you, the American people. Channel: Mr. Virtual President

Abortion. The Second American Civil War, as was the First Civil War, will not be about economics and cultural differences. The ultimate dividing issue, as was slavery, will be abortion. Obama knows this and he is, with increasing desperation, trying to provoke a Second Civil War while he is still President of the United States. While he can still play the Abraham Lincoln role that Time Magazine gave him, while Tea Partiers such as Sarah Palin look like a rag-tag bag of rural "Rebs". There is "Liberal Fascism" as Jonah Goldberg has defined the Progressively Marxist American Left. Then there...

If Obamacare is fully implemented, 68 percent of Americans with private health insurance will not be able to keep their plan, according to health care economist Christopher Conover. Conover is a research scholar in the Center for Health Policy & Inequalities Research at Duke University and an adjunct scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. In an interview with The Daily Caller, he laid out what he estimates the consequences of Obamacare’s implementation will ultimately be. “Bottom line: of the 189 million Americans with private health insurance coverage, I estimate that if Obamacare is fully implemented, at least 129 million (68...

My nephew Jake Silverman is a brainy, confident, energetic, and strong-willed six-year-old. He eats more food than I ever thought it was possible for a six-year-old boy to consume, loves my iPad with a passion, and sometimes has temper tantrums when he doesn’t get precisely what he wants. He already knows he wants to be a doctor, and I have no doubt that he will be an unruly teenager who will mature into a brilliant, handsome, and talented young man. At least that is my hope. You see, Jake was adopted from Ethiopia by my brother (who is white), and...

In a recent conversation, a good buddy enraged by his new private insurance premiums and $5,800-per-year deductible said something that struck me as undoubtedly prophetic."I'd literally need to be dying before I would start paying this ridiculous deductible for routine care."Under ObamaCare, those who work for a living incur massive premium and deductible increases to subsidize those that cannot or will not provide their own insurance. In the universe of ObamaCare, unless you are among the privileged dependency class that enjoys free health care, gone are the days when cautionary calls can be made to the doctor because a child...

Young daughter in hand, Isabel Aguilera recounts the mayhem that stalked these streets. Here they dragged a father from the breakfast table, shooting him dead outside in front of his family. There they came for a shopkeeper, gunning him down behind the counter. Yonder they snuffed two brothers after pulling them from their beds before sunrise. “They were people from outside,” Aguilera, 38, said of the killings that recently swept like cholera through Riveras del Bravo, a teeming sprawl of Mexico’s working poor. “They wanted to inject power, fear.” These thousands of matchbox houses once ranked among Earth's deadliest patches...

Everyone now is clamoring about Affordable Care Act winners and losers. I am one of the losers. My grievance is not political; all my energies are directed to enjoying life and staying alive, and I have no time for politics. For almost seven years I have fought and survived stage-4 gallbladder cancer, with a five-year survival rate of less than 2% after diagnosis. I am a determined fighter and extremely lucky. But this luck may have just run out: My affordable, lifesaving medical insurance policy has been canceled effective Dec. 31. My choice is to get coverage through the government...
