In another geological era, I served as a special attorney with the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section of the U.S. Department of Justice. Way back then, working with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, we conducted investigations with the quaint object of making prosecutable cases against actual felons. Well, so much for the good old days. The Obama Justice Department has apparently come up with a novel, new mission. "Operation Fast and Furious" sanctioned and promoted illegal sales by American gun shops of thousands of military-style semiautomatic rifles to straw purchasers for the Mexican drug cartels. Thereafter, no serious...

Washington (CNN) - Thursday's landmark Supreme Court decision upholding the country's health care law appears to have had exactly zero impact on the presidential election so far, and has produced virtually no change in opinions on President Barack Obama or Republican challenger Mitt Romney, according to a new national poll. And while the CNN/ORC International survey released Monday indicates the president with a very slight three point edge over Romney among registered voters nationwide, the presumptive GOP nominee appears to hold an eight point advantage among voters who live in the 15 states considered in play in the race for...

Officials in Nairobi reported on Monday that two Iranian terrorists who were arrested in Kenya last week were planning to attack Israeli, American, British and Saudi targets in the country. According to the officials, 15 kg of RDX-type explosives, designed to carry out powerful terrorist attacks, were found to be in the possession of the terrorists. The suspects denied the charges against them, the officials said. One of them said, “We are asking the court to let us go because we are innocent." The Prime Minister's Office said in response to the report that "Iranian terrorism knows no borders.” The...

In the last year 3 1/2 years we have seen what remains of our American Judeo/Christian culture literally wiped out. Socialism and the secularization of America is now dominant in our media and culture. What is also quite alarming is that even those who profess to be “Christians” are being led astray by this change and are being seduced by the subtle doctrines of fallen angels (demons). This demonic and godless kool aid is so subtle and bewitching that it has made even so called professing “Christians” drunk and numb to the realities of this world as stated in Almighty...

It’s believed to be the first time in the U.S. that a father and son have been ordained at the same Mass. Details: “Charles Albert Hough the III.â€Bishop Kevin Vann’s historic words rang out at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Keller as he called first the father… and then the son.“Charles Albert Hough the IV.â€Both answered the call before a big congregation during a one-of-its-kind ordination.“Oh, this is a great moment in the life of our family — a great moment in the history of our faith,†said the elder Hough. The father-and-son duo — who both go by...

House Speaker John Boehern said today that Republicans are preparing to file a civil suit in an attempt to gain access to more information pertaining to the Justice Department’s botched Fast & Furious drug cartel gun tracking program. The planned civil suit, which comes on the heels of a letter sent by the Justice Department stating that the DOJ would not prosecute Attorney General Eric Holder following a House vote to hold him in criminal contempt of Congress. “It’s not clear to me that the U.S. District Attorney will in fact, go down that path. That’s why we’re going to...

After filing Notices of Federal Tax Lien, the IRS must notify the affected taxpayers in writing, at their last known address, within five business days of the lien filings. However, as noted in previous audits, the IRS did not always follow its own internal guidelines for notifying taxpayer representatives of the filing of lien notices. Therefore, some taxpayers may have had their rights violated when the IRS did not notify their representatives of lien filings.

An IDF soldier was accused of refusing to participate in an exercise that was conducted several days before the evacuation of five buildings in the Ulpana neighborhood in Beit El that were designed to deal with the aftermath of the evacuation. The exercise was designed to teach soldiers how to handle “price tag” actions by youths opposed to the evacuation. Channel Two reported that the soldier refused to participate, telling commanders that this was not what he had joined the IDF for. The soldier was ejected from a commanders' course he was enrolled in....

Rasmussen Reports did extensive polling this weekend -- the weekend after the Supreme Court ruled to uphold Obama Care -- and found that 52% of Americans still want it repealed. Moreover, 49% believe the bill is bad for the country while only 37% think it's good. And that's the best news poll for Democrats. Not only is ObamaCare polling upside down among almost every conceivable demographic; the intensity of opposition compared to support is even wider. 58% of men favor repeal of ObamaCare, 34% oppose. 46% of women favor repeal, only 43% oppose. Even among the youth vote, Obama can't...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: If you're in the DC area, are you happy you don't have an electric car? Yeah, with the power outages, are you happy you don't have an electric car? Because two million, five million, three schmillion, whatever. Aren't you glad you don't have an electric car? By the way, how are those windmills working out for you? How are the windmills and solar panels working out? Are they running your air-conditioning for you? As you sit there and sweat away, how are things doing in the nation's capital? All those windmills are really working out, huh? Solar...

This video was made to show how easy it would be to make a gun fire using only a nail without having to harden it. I wouldn't recommend this nail to be used for repeated use without hardening.

Repairman Shawn Flett stood 30 feet above the ground on the deck of a truck the size of a house. He had just waved it gingerly into the repair shop as if guiding an airplane into a hangar. This is a beast of a machine, with 14-foot tires and weighing in at more than a million pounds. The truck burns 50 gallons of diesel an hour as it rumbles with 400-ton loads across the giant open-pit mines that have transformed a swath of Alberta’s vast northern forest into unsightly but lucrative sources of oil. “It handles like a Cadillac,” Flett...

On Sunday, White House chief of staff Jacob Lew and House minority leader Nancy Pelosi took to the morning shows to claim that the Obamacare individual mandate tax is not a tax. The plain language of the law says otherwise. The Obamacare law employs several terms to describe the tax Americans will pay if they choose not to purchase “qualifying” health insurance (as defined by Obama-appointed HHS bureaucrats). These terms include "payment," "assessment," and "individual responsibility." All of these terms are describing the same Obamacare provision, which is undoubtedly a tax: This tax is variously referred to as a "penalty,"...

The president now must spend the next four months defending a law that the majority of Americans dislike, and the more they learn about it, the more they dislike it. Worse, the part of the law that is the least popular — the individual mandate — has now been declared a tax. That’s double jeopardy for the president: The unpopular mandate stands, and it is called a tax. (And this is only one of the 20 new and higher taxes in the law.) Either the president admits it’s a tax as a way of keeping the law on the books,...

Explanation: What wonders lie at the center of our Galaxy? In Jules Verne's science fiction classic A Journey to the Center of the Earth, Professor Liedenbrock and his fellow explorers encounter many strange and exciting wonders. Astronomers already know of some of the bizarre objects that exist at our Galactic center, including like vast cosmic dust clouds, bright star clusters, swirling rings of gas, and even a supermassive black hole. Much of the Galactic Center is shielded from our view in visible light by the intervening dust and gas, but it can be explored using other forms of electromagnetic radiation....

Explanation: What causes the surrounding shells in peculiar galaxy Cen A? In 2002 a fascinating image of peculiar galaxy Centaurus A was released, processed to highlight a faint blue arc indicating an ongoing collision with a smaller galaxy. Another interesting feature of Cen A, however, is the surrounding system of shells, better visible here in this recently released wider pan from the four meter Blanco telescope at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory. Faint shells around galaxies are not unusual and considered by themselves as evidence of a previous galaxy merger, analogous to water ripples on a pond. An unexpected attribute of...

Don't be fooled by the false praise being heaped upon Chief Justice John Roberts by the mainstream media and its favorite go-to legal commentators. Jeffrey Toobin, no less, of the New Yorker and CNN, lets the cat out of the bag--they are celebrating Roberts's opinion in the Obamacare case, even though they know it is a total farce: In the end, of course, Roberts did uphold the A.C.A. as an exercise of the constitutional power to tax. Frankly, that argument is not a persuasive one. As the conservative Justices wrote in their joint dissenting opinion, taxes are enforced contributions to...
