Boehner: Republicans to Challenge Obama’s Executive Privilege in Civil Court

House Speaker John Boehern said today that Republicans are preparing to file a civil suit in an attempt to gain access to more information pertaining to the Justice Department’s botched Fast & Furious drug cartel gun tracking program.

The planned civil suit, which comes on the heels of a letter sent by the Justice Department stating that the DOJ would not prosecute Attorney General Eric Holder following a House vote to hold him in criminal contempt of Congress.

“It’s not clear to me that the U.S. District Attorney will in fact, go down that path. That’s why we’re going to file, in District Court, a civil suit, over the issue of executive privilege,” Boehner said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

The Obama administration, in response to a request by Holder, asserted the right to executive privilege several weeks ago, in effect blocking Congressional access to documents pertaining the affair.

Officials at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives intentionally allowed thousands of marked guns to be sold to Mexican drug cartel as a way to track the flow of illegal guns across the border, but came under intense scrutiny after two tagged guns lost in the operation were recovered at the scene of U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry’s killing in December 2010 near the Mexican border.

The program was eventually shut down and program disavowed, but Republicans on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee want to know what Holder knew and when he knew it.

“The American people have a right to know what happened,” Boehner said today. “Brian Terry’s family has a right to know what happened here.”

Holder is a criminal.
Holder and Obama BOTH wanted to use an increase in tragic gun deaths, in Mexico, to ramp up support for gun restrictions in the United States.
For Heaven’s sake, the attorney who did the Assault Weapons Ban for President Clinton was in CHARGE of this ATF “Fast and Furious” fiasco.
Holder is on record, a few years back, as saying, “We need a propaganda campaign against the 2nd Amendment.”
Obama is on record, a few years back, as saying, “We are working on gun control, under the radar”
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is trying to get the United States to sign on to the UN Small Arms Treaty.
First, the Obama Administration told us that almost all of the guns that show up in Mexican crimes came from the United States. Then? It turns out the Mexico only referred guns to American Law Enforcement that they THOUGHT came from the United States, (A small minority of the total amount of guns that Mexico has seized in the drug wars.)
When Obama and Holder are caught in a LIE, they RAMP UP gun sales to Mexico, in “Operation Fast and Furious” in order to “PROVE” that the guns used in the Mexican drug wars came from the United States —-

So that Obama and Holder could push gun restrictions in the United States!

(Notice how well gun control is working in Chicago? They have the worst gun restrictions in the country, and the HIGHEST level of gun violence in the country!)

Now, Obama and Holder have retaliated against the “whistle-blowers” who warned Congress about Obama’s evil, twisted plot to restrict the 2nd Amendment, by sacrificing Mexican and American lives on the border!”
