Fascinating details of last years financial bailout have emerged in a new book by a former White House insider. The Bush administration felt that the Treasury Secretary, Hank Paulson, kept changing his proposal leaving the President to demand: "You’ve got to tell me what you’re doing.”

Like the White House, the Clinton lead State Department has also had a dinner in honor of Ramadan. Apparently much of our government's time is being used up by catering to Islam. Just like in the UK, and look at how well that turned out.

Gold bullion just crossed $1,000 an ounce. But what's it really worth? Bud Conrad, chief economist at Casey Research and a leading gold bug, says it's worth far more. Based on long-term analyses of macroeconomic trends such as the money supply, he says, "a lot of ratios… get you into the $4,000 to $5,000 level without any problem. Congressman and former presidential candidate Ron Paul also a major gold bug likewise sees the price of bullion rising from today's levels. "It's trebled in the last ten years," he says. "There's no reason it can't triple in another ten years, that...

A year ago this week, Lehman Brothers blew up, dramatically advancing one of the worst financial disasters in history. The reckless behavior of greedy Wall Street bankers had come home to roost, making life a lot tougher for the rest of us. Since then, what have President Barack Obama and Congress done to prevent them from doing it again? Pretty much what Obama did when he spoke to Wall Street earlier this week. Talk. "They really haven't done anything that could prevent another meltdown," says Joseph Mason, financial-sector expert who used to work for one of the main national banking...

Dear xxxxxx, This past weekend, at the urging of FOX News mouthpiece Glenn Beck, tens of thousands of tea baggers, birthers and other right-wing conspiracy theorists descended on Washington DC, many to show off their extreme hatred of President Obama and Democratic congressional leaders. Among the signs, characterizing the president as everything from a nazi to an illegal immigrant to the Antichrist, more than a few were spotted hailing Rep. Joe Wilson as a new hero of the right-wing extremist movement for his infamous "You lie!" outburst during the president's recent congressional address. One sign even read, "We Are All...

I'm sure you'll hear and read about this ad nauseam today. Jimmy Carter:"I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he's African-American." Wow. According to Rasmussen Reports, the President had a 65% approval rating on his inauguration day. This approval rating now stands at 49%. Did 16% of the populous just suddenly become racist? Rather than racism, could it be that many Americans just don't like the idea of socialized medicine? Could it be that many Americans just don't like the idea...

Well once again, our court system is going to be asked to interpret the constitution in light of today's seemingly more important political correctness and race sensitivities to determine if Hillary has legally been appointed as Secretary of State. The 3 Judge Panel, has the unenviable task of...

If Jay Leno Wants Better Reviews He Can Start By Removing the Lapel Flag by John Nolte Critics love David Letterman. They love him because he’s mean and liberal and does everything they demand: further the leftist agenda through the brutal use of humiliation to target any public figure (or their child) who might derail Leftist causes. And contrary to conventional wisdom, Letterman’s not edgy. In fact, he’s just the opposite. Doing exactly what those who can criticize you want you to do is not edgy. Kissing the big Manhattan/Los Angeles bi-coastal ass of the elite is not edgy. He’s...

His justification for two million goes a little something like this; "We had a university, I think it's a university , of - I don't remember which university it is. Look at the pictures and you know they can do body space, looked at it, did the body counts and came up with 1.7 million." Astounding! We must locate the mystery university...of something, somewhere. Of course he wasn't the only one to exaggerate a million or more. Michelle Malkin quoted two on ABC, because she says so - that's why. Limbaugh quoted a British tabloid as a source for his...

Sometime in the mid-1980s, Robert Shiller and John Campbell '84PhD created The Chart. It wasn't especially complicated. It showed average stock prices, relative to corporate earnings, going all the way back to the late nineteenth century. Wall Street analysts produce charts along these lines all the time. The measure is called the price-earnings ratio, and it is the single most common analytical yardstick of the stock market. The yardstick that Shiller and Campbell created, however, came with a twist -- a twist that transformed their little chart into The Chart. Today, The Chart stands as one of the signature pieces...

Michael Moore, the man of many hats - documentary filmmaker, political scientist and now, singer. Moore has been making the rounds to promote his new movie, "Capitalism: A Love Story." On NBC's Sept. 15 "Jay Leno Show," Moore appeared and was asked what was wrong with capitalism. "Capitalism is actually legalized greed," Moore said. "There's nothing wrong with people earning money, starting a business, selling shoes. That's not what I'm talking about. We're at a point now Jay, in this country, where the richest 1 percent, the very top 1 percent have more financial wealth than the bottom 95 percent...

Two of every three practicing physicians oppose the medical overhaul plan under consideration in Washington, and hundreds of thousands would think about shutting down their practices or retiring early if it were adopted... The poll contradicts the claims of not only the White House, but also doctors' own lobby — the powerful American Medical Association — both of which suggest the medical profession is behind the proposed overhaul. It also calls into question whether an overhaul is even doable; 72% of the doctors polled disagree with the administration's claim that the government can cover 47 million more people with better-quality...

After three days and three videos (two of which are here and here) showing ACORN employees at three different ACORN locations aiding a pimp and his whore evade taxes, commit bank fraud, break immigration laws, and place children in dire situations, the Senate has voted to terminate all federal funding for the liberal front group and Barack Obama's favorite organization. Finally, a bill I can support out of this Democrat hell hole of a Congress. This comes just one day after the Census Bureau announced it will no longer use ACORN as an assistant during the national census next year....

WASHINGTON -- Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus formally unveiled a 10-year $856 billion bill that would extend health insurance to tens of millions of Americans not now covered, moving an important step forward on President Barack Obama's top domestic priority. The sweeping measure is designed to steer a more moderate course on health policy than other major bills moving through Capitol Hill, and doesn't propose to create a new government insurance plan to compete with private insurers, as proposed in rival House legislation and favored by many liberals. Instead, the Montana Democrat is proposing to expand coverage by creating...
