If Jay Leno Wants Better Reviews He Can Start By Removing the Lapel Flag by John Nolte

Critics love David Letterman. They love him because he’s mean and liberal and does everything they demand: further the leftist agenda through the brutal use of humiliation to target any public figure (or their child) who might derail Leftist causes.

And contrary to conventional wisdom, Letterman’s not edgy. In fact, he’s just the opposite. Doing exactly what those who can criticize you want you to do is not edgy. Kissing the big Manhattan/Los Angeles bi-coastal ass of the elite is not edgy. He’s their jester; their puppet; their bitch. Worse, he’s about as funny as watching your old, half-deaf Uncle intimidate, humiliate and demean your Aunt and then smile at the rest of the family as though he’s just reaffirmed his manhood. Letterman reminds me of the Jason Robards character in “Parenthood” in more ways than you can imagine. In other words, he’s a jerk, but in a sad end-of-his-life kind of way.

Oh, and how the elite critics resented nice ole’ Jay Leno for cleaning Letterman’s ratings’ clock all those years. And now that Jay’s back eating up primetime, they couldn’t wait to jump all over him with sniffing disapproval fed through a filter of wrist-flicking dismissal.

After exactly one show the knives came out:

L.A. Times: “Sixteen minutes into the new ‘The Jay Leno Show’ it was difficult not to panic. This is the future of television? This wasn’t even a good rendition of television past.”

New York Times: “So much ink has been devoted to describing how Mr. Leno’s new show would depart from ....

Of course, let’s all remember how much positive ink the launch of that incredibly successful network Air America got in 2004.

Well, with Michael Moore on Night # 2, Jay’s working on it.

Michael Moore was on last night and as soon as Jay’s monologue was over I turned the set off. I didn’t want to hear what that far left nutjob had to say because he’s a !@#$%^&*! liar anyway and everything he says is a lie and who wants to hear any more lies from anyone else when we already hear enough of them coming from Obummer.

I like Leno. He’s a lot more balanced than other late night guys and he seems to be a genuinely good guy. The fact that he does wear the pin says a lot about him to me.

He was here for a 45th Harley fest in Milwaukee about ten years ago. There were two children on stage in wheelchairs and he didn’t acknowledge them. He was late and left before the rest of the ceremony was over. He didn’t impress me.
I’m glad that black spot in the front of his hair is almost white now though,..It bothered me... :-)

I like Leno too and he is a lot better than most of the late night guys ESPECIALLY LETTERMAN who is abhorrent, disgusting, a bottom dweller, pond scum and disgraceful with no decorum, no sense of right and wrong, no sense of humanity or fairness and a complete POS.

Carson was one of the last of a generation of entertainers that was a fairly decent person off camera.

Leno, I think, is a bit of a throwback to that generation in that he doesn't have a string of ex-wives or bastard children in his past.

He isn't a drunk or drug user (as far as I know) and his automotive hobby is pretty much a raised middle finger to the culture of Hollywood.

He is not "edgy" which is usually another way of saying contrived offensiveness, which is another anti-Hollywood characteristic.

I never thought much of Conan O’Brien, but I understand he did have the courage to actually skewer Michelle Obama (gasp) the other night.

A small glimmer of hope.....

I used to TIVO Leno every night and watch him the next day. But last year he began bashing Bush and Cheney every show in his monologue that it became impossible to watch. So I stopped recording him. I tuned in Monday and there he was with both a joke on Bush and one on Chaney in his monologue. I will maybe give him one more chance.

Carson had a string of ex-wives. He was married four times.

I have a suggestion. With Kanye West, then Michael Moore perhaps they should consider a new name for his program.

Tonight’s Jackass with Jay Leno

Not to mention a big liberal and was writing those anti-Bush jokes for Letterman when he was alive.

I know. I meant Jay Leno.

About Carson, I didn't mean to imply that he was as pure as the wind driven snow, just that his vices were the "old timey" pedestrian type and usually kept as private as possible.
