This past weekend, at the urging of FOX News mouthpiece Glenn Beck, tens of thousands of tea baggers, birthers and other right-wing conspiracy theorists descended on Washington DC, many to show off their extreme hatred of President Obama and Democratic congressional leaders. Among the signs, characterizing the president as everything from a nazi to an illegal immigrant to the Antichrist, more than a few were spotted hailing Rep. Joe Wilson as a new hero of the right-wing extremist movement for his infamous "You lie!" outburst during the president's recent congressional address.
One sign even read, "We Are All Joe Wilson."
Today, Republican members of Congress will go on record to prove if they are all Joe Wilson... if they support his town hall mob-like behavior during a congressional address by the president of the United States (unprecedented in recent times), or if they support basic civility in policy debates.
The House of Representatives is set to vote on a "resolution of disapproval" today to officially reprimand Wilson for his conduct. He's apologized to the president, but he refused to apologize to the House. His disruption was deeply disrespectful to Congress and, more importantly, to the American people and the basic institutions of our democracy. Each body of Congress has the right to "keep its own house in order" as it sees fit and Congress is correct to reprimand Wilson officially.
Call your representative now and ask them: who are they with? The Radical Right, which has flocked to Joe Wilson as its new champion, or Americans who want a functional -- and civil -- constitutional democracy.
Even if you have a Democratic member of Congress, you should still call to express your support for the resolution of disapproval.

It's really that simple. Today we'll see if Republican members of the House will continue to march in lockstep to the drumbeat of the Far Right, as they did throughout the Bush administration.
The extremists make a lot of noise (and get far too much media attention), but they are a very small minority of Americans. The choice for most members of Congress should be an easy one.
