(AP) — PRISTINA, Kosovo - Ethnic Albanians protested Monday in Kosovo's capital over an information-sharing deal between the European Union police mission in Kosovo and Serbian police. The protesters say the deal splits Kosovo along ethnic lines and gives Serbia a say in Kosovo's internal affairs. The 1,000 protesters carried Albanian flags through the streets of Pristina, cheering "Down with EULEX!"-the name for EU's 2,000-strong police and justice mission. Kosovo, which has an ethnic Albanian majority, split from Serbia last year. Serbia has criticized nations like the United States who recognize Kosovo's independence. Albin Kurti, a protest organizer, criticized the...

NEW YORK – Normally so cool, so consistent, so in control of his emotions and his matches, Roger Federer let the U.S. Open championship slip from his grasp. Two points from victory against inexperienced, unheralded Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina, two points from a sixth consecutive title at Flushing Meadows and a record-extending 16th Grand Slam overall, Federer, quite simply, fell apart Monday.

I've watched with no small amount of glee these last several days the literal beat-down the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (better known as ACORN) has been receiving at the hands of two under-25 journalists who seem to be doing the hard work and investigation of Barack Obama's favorite national community organization that the mainstream media chose not to do for itself. At least three video recordings now exist of the two -- 25-year old James O'Keefe and 20-year old Hannah Giles -- got together and cooked up a plan to expose the utter lack of morality or...

Trade: President Obama has fired the opening salvo in a trade war with China by slapping 35% tariffs on its tires. But besides giving China a kick, this protectionism will harm Americans across the economy.Sec. 421 of the 1974 Trade Act, intended to control surges in imports. But the markets paid attention. Global stock futures tumbled over the weekend. Asian markets dropped sharply Monday, fearing a wave of U.S. protectionism. China called the U.S. move "rampant protectionism" and vowed to investigate dumping charges against U.S. auto parts and chicken, two industries that have made inroads into the China market. The...

IN PURSUIT OF LIBERTY: COMING OF AGE IN THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION By Emmy E. Werner Potomac Books, $17.95, 190 pages Reviewed by James Srodes Too often books about children are written in an infantile voice as if the audience is somehow unable to read adult themes unless the prose is watered down. Happily, the book at hand is a compelling history that is both clearly written and a riveting experience for both adults and young people who are interested in Revolutionary War history from a different perspective. The story of young people, even children, in our War for Independence has...

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama warned Wall Street that it wouldn't be wise to ignore lessons from last year's economic turmoil, pressing the financial sector to join his effort to remake financial regulation by the end of the year. In a major address in New York, Mr. Obama said the storms of the financial crisis "are beginning to break" with less need for the government to get involved in the financial system. But he pressed Wall Street not to grow complacent as the economy returns to normal, saying banks shouldn't expect taxpayers to come to the rescue again. (See the...

Regulation: A year after Lehman Bros. went bankrupt, Washington plans sweeping new reforms of the financial markets. Based on what's been revealed so far, our leaders have learned nothing from that crisis.Today, once again, we're hearing that unbridled greed and reckless pursuit of profit lie behind all our ills, that Wall Street is "choosing to ignore" the lessons from the meltdown and that new rules are needed to bring the miscreants to heel. But this is exactly backward. Yes, Wall Street made mistakes — real doozies, as it turned out. And Lehman wasn't alone in taking risks it shouldn't have....

Besides being verbally attacked by the Arab News, now the Florida police will not even protect her. When it comes to Islam they are as uninformed as the NYPD and LAPD are. Fla. police: No credible threat to runaway convert ORLANDO, Fla. — An investigation by Florida authorities has found that there were no credible threats to a teenager who ran away from her Ohio home because she says she feared for her life after converting to Christianity from Islam.

Too many people on the liberal side of the fence argue that illegal immigration is a racial issue. They believe that those of us who want to protect the US boarders are inspired by racism, trying to keep out Hispanics. The Hezbollah Mole in the CIA case (Nada Nadim Prouty) and the terrorists targeting Army base after sneaking over the boarders, highlight the reasons we want true immigration reform without amnesty. How many others are out there-not to gather information but to launch terror attacks when the time is right. It is more difficult to launch an attack when you...

Patrick Swayze has died after a nearly two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Swayze's publicist Annett Wolf says the 57-year-old "Dirty Dancing" actor died Monday with family at his side. He came forward about his illness last spring, but continued working as he underwent treatments. It was 1987 when Swayze became a star with his performance in "Dirty Dancing," a coming-of-age story set in a Catskills resort. The 1990 film "Ghost" cemented his status as a screen favorite. Swayze played a murdered man trying to communicate with his fiancee through a spirit played by Whoopi Goldberg.

Officers were caught in a stand-off between hundreds of anti-Islam and Muslim protesters outside the mosque, in Station Road, Harrow late on Friday. Heavily armed police struggled to contain the escalating violence and at least 10 people were arrested as more than a 1,000 people descended on the area. We cannot forget to remind folks, now that the Senate has voted 83-7 to strip ACORN of millions of taxpayer funds and the white-hot klieg lights have been turned on this bunch of goons, that President Obama was completely and utterly in bed with them throughout his entire adult life. These are his people. He was a commmunity organizer and they are the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. He trained them, he defended them as an attorney, and he paid them a pile of cash last year to help him get elected and then had to 'amend' the...
