Please post any and all coverage or lack of same on the amazing protest today on the mall. At this time C-SPAN is running back "Book Notes", stangely all of a leftist variety. CNN has an endless show on America's terrorism alertness and is showing the story about the boat in the Potamac. C-SPAN2 is also showing pre-recorded stuff. Headline News has a personal finance show on. MS-NBC is showing infomericals. Fox has at least done some coverage but it is minimal, competing with H1N1 vacine stories, and a tabloid murder of a Yale coed.

The cash-for-clunkers program was so successful in getting Americans to buy new cars that it ran out of money early. Now, a sequel, dollars-for-dishwashers, is coming to an appliance store near you. But the $300 million program, funded through the federal government's economic stimulus plan, is certain to lack the same pop, said appliance makers and retailers. The program's intent is to spur sales of energy-efficient appliances, but its small size would provide just a minor boost for struggling appliance makers such as General Electric Co., Whirlpool Corp., and Sweden's Electrolux AB. Unlike the clunkers plan, the program allows each...

Here's what you'll find at the top of the ACORN Housing Inc. website. President Obama formally announced this morning a new $75 billion dollar plan designed to help families prevent foreclosures and stabilize hard-hit communities. The Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan includes a loan modification program, which provides incentives for lenders to modify the loans of borrowers who are at risk of foreclosure because their incomes are not sufficient to make their mortgage payments. It also includes refinance opportunities for borrowers who are current on their mortgage payments but have been unable to refinance because their homes have decreased in...

More Honest Debate What is a Cooperative (Co-Op)? A Cooperative is a business organization owned and operated by a group of individuals for their mutual benefit. A cooperative may also be defined as a business owned and controlled equally by the people who use its services or who work at it.There are many types of Co-Ops in the United States. I will attempt to address some of the most common cooperatives. If you belong to a credit union, you are already a member of a Co-Op. My electric and natural gas utility company is an EMC, another word for Co-Op....

Here is an awesome video showing the progressive gathering of the massive crowd at the 9/12 "Taxpayers March on Washington" today. You can see the U.S. Capitol in the distance, where the massive crowd marched to from Freedom Plaza. The video shows the crowd gradually growing and marching down the street to the Capitol. It is clearly a crowd in the hundreds of thousands if not millions. So far, estimates have ranged from "tens of thousands" to "1.5 - 2 million." . . . (VIDEO)

This megacity -- which was built on the bed of a lake -- may be close to running out of water. One of the principal reservoirs that feeds Mexico City, the Cutzamala dam system, is nearly half-empty and continuing to drop. Water shutoffs have become routine in some of the city's poorest neighborhoods. A respite came this week with a few days of heavy rain. But with the country facing what could be one of its driest years in nearly seven decades, the government is running ads with a dire prediction: "February 2010: The City May Run Out of Water."...

A source on Rep. Joe Wilson's campaign says his fundraising has broken $1 million -- and surpassed that of his Democratic rival, Rob Miller -- since his outburst of "You lie!" during President Obama's address to Congress Wednesday. ---Snip--- Still, Wilson's success -- despite having been criticized by Republican leaders -- represents the power of the conservative grassroots to reward politicians who confront the White House in the sharpest terms.

President Obama took his health care pitch to Minneapolis, Minnesota Saturday where he sought to rally support for his overhaul and pledged to "call out" critics who he accused of spreading misinformation. Obama also said he will not waste time with those who think "that it's better politics to kill this plan than improve it." He said he could "not accept the status quo as a solution. Not this time. Not now." Earlier, Obama said in his weekly address he'd work to ensure that health care would be provided to any and all Americans in need of medical attention --...

Judge Lucinda V. Sadler does not have the right to decide what is proper religious exposure for a child. To say, in a court ruling that the girl's "vigorous defense of her religious beliefs … suggests strongly that she has not had the opportunity to consider any other point of view," is overstepping the role of adjudication.

Here is video of South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint talking with Fox News' Brian Wilson today from the Capitol in Washington, D.C., where the 9/12 "Taxpayers March on Washington was taking place. Wilson characterized the crowd as being "tens of thousands," but when DeMint began speaking, he immediately corrected Wilson by saying there were "hundreds of thousands" of people in attendance. DeMint said the huge crowd present were "average Americans" who had come to Washington to tell their Government they "want their country back." He said they are "tired of being lectured to," and they "want to be listened to."...

MIAMI — Armed with a tip from the grassroots group ACORN about its own workers, authorities on Wednesday began arresting 11 people suspected of falsifying hundreds of voter applications during a registration drive last year. ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, has long been accused by Republican and conservative activists — fed by talk-radio hosts — of fraudulently registering voters. But Miami-Dade prosecutors gave credit to the group for coming forward and ACORN officials said they felt vindicated. "It shows that we take the integrity of our voter registration work with the utmost seriousness,"...

Bill Kristol shares: The single most damning story about President Obama so far is one we know courtesy of his national security adviser, Jim Jones. Visiting the newly installed military commanders in Afghanistan in late June, Jones told General Stanley McChrystal that if he requested more troops any time soon, Obama would have a “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot” (i.e., “What the f–”) moment. Jones then, in an interview, made the claim—denied by everyone else involved—that military leaders had agreed that when the president earlier sent 21,000 troops to Afghanistan, “there would be a year from the time the decision was made...

"If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride." English proverb. Many people who sat through President Obama's address Wednesday night came away thinking it would be wonderful if they, too, could wish away economic laws so their dreams might come true. He seems to believe if he ignores reality and wishes hard enough, he can be the last president to have to wrestle with health-care reform. For example, he would require insurance companies to cover everyone, forbid them from canceling policies or reducing coverage, force them "to cover, with no extra charge, routine checkups and preventive care," and require them...
