One day after two ACORN officials in Baltimore were fired for offering to help a man and woman posing as a pimp and prostitute to engage in child prostitution and a series of tax crimes, another secretly shot videotape has surfaced that shows the same couple getting similar advice from ACORN officers in Washington. The newly released videotape, shot on July 25, shows ACORN staffers explaining to the pair how they can hide the woman's professed work — prostitution — and get a loan that will help them establish a brothel. James O'Keefe, a 25-year-old independent filmmaker, posed as the...

Our sky's the limit Sep. 10, 2009 Yaakov Katz , THE JERUSALEM POST The sirens blare throughout the base. Within seconds, four airmen - two pilots and two navigators - jump out of an office, scoop up their helmets hanging on a hook nearby and skip down a few stairs and into a waiting car which drives them down a short road to a nearby hangar. A minute later, they are aboard their two-seater F-16s, have switched on the ignitions and begin making their way to the base's main runway. A minute later they are already in the air. This...

Experts from around the country meeting in San Antonio, say the problem of Latino childhood obesity is nothing less than a national security threat, and containing it will involve more than urging kids to eat fewer Twinkies, 1200 WOAI news reports. "We're not just looking at individual behavior change, but how to we set up systems to encourage these individual changes," says Kip Gallion of the group Salud America, a unit of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The conference brought together educators, health officials, neighborhood groups, and officials like a former U.S. Surgeon General to the Gunter Hotel. Gallion says...

Unlike Naomi Klein, I am not a professional agitator and I don't write political missives for a living. I am, however, a filmmaker and I have a very long history with the Toronto International Film Festival, which I have had the honour of opening 10 times. I write this from the set of Mordecai Richler's Barney's Version, whose hero, Barney Panofsky, would share my view that enough is enough! The difference between most people and professional liars is that the latter have no shame. They will proclaim as the gospel truth, without blushing and without the slightest hesitation, any falsehood...

I haven't seen this one before and I hope most of you haven't either, but I though all could use something to brighten this sad day. The Lie Clock A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter's desk at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked, "What are all those clocks there for?" St. Peter answered, "Those are Lie Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move." "Oh," said the man, "whose clock is that?"...

“Na na na na na you have no Standing” has been the legal argument that President Barry Soetoro, his attorneys and now the attorneys of the U.S. Justice Department, have used to have dozens eligibility suits dismissed throughout the country. As legally profound and convincing as that argument is on September 8, 2009 in a California Federal Court, Judge of the Central District David Carter has for the first time since this issue has been brought up has scheduled a case to be heard on its merits. Image that someone in black robes has finally said okay let’s get to...

In the 1990's, Obama served as legal counsel for ACORN. Mrs. Revor's interview sheds light on what Barack Obama was like in private before he ran for political office. The interview with Revor will provide Americans insight into Obama's life as a community organizer. The interview with Mrs. Revor was conducted by Daniel Zanoza, RFFM.org's Executive...

Toward the end of his speech on health care Wednesday night, President Obama said that he had been thinking a lot about the phrase, "the character of our country." Too bad the president's speech had all the character of a free lunch. Obama argued for the moral imperative of providing quality health care for all Americans - but it's not such a moral imperative that most people should have to pay for it. In fact, he promised a load of goodies, starting with access to health care for America's 47 million-plus uninsured. House Bill 3200 would provide subsidies for families...

Google always commemorates special days like Independence Day and Thanksgiving Dayand the all powerful Earth Day. However, I checked their site solely to see what they had up and sadly it was as plain and stark with nothing to remember the hateful attack against our country 8 years ago. Maybe they will get something up later today or maybe I am being routed through a foreign server but it just made me a little sad to be honest. Anybody else notice?

Russia to call tender for foreign helicopter carrier 11/09/2009 KALININGRAD, September 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russia plans to hold an international tender for the purchase of a helicopter carrier, involving France, Spain and the Netherlands, the country's Navy chief said on Friday. "I can confirm that negotiations are being held, but there is likely to be a tender," Adm. Vladimir Vysotsky said, adding that other countries could also be involved. He said there were no negotiations with the United States - "for understandable reasons," adding that the U.S. authorities were "highly sensitive" about the transfer of new technology, especially dual-purpose...

state sales tax would be eliminated along with taxes on corporate income in a sweeping proposal considered Thursday by a blue ribbon commission charged with finding ways to overhaul California's tax system. The Commission on the 21st Century Economy was convened in autumn by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in the midst of the state's worst financial crisis. The 14 commissioners - appointed by the governor and Democratic legislative leaders - have a Sept. 20 deadline to recommend a plan to stabilize the state's erratic revenue stream. "The overall objective ... is to help stabilize state revenues, reduce volatility, promote long-term economic...
  • What about Long Term Care Insurance?

I have looked through the incomprehensible HR 3200 and can find no discernable reference to private long term care health insurance. However, my read suggests that ObamaCare will also end all private LTC insurance policies and replace them with ... nothing. Since LTC premiums are adjusted severy several years tro reflect a person's age, the bill suggests that once that occurs your LTC insurance is automatically canceled and you get ... nothing. You get to die at home. Quickly. Anyone out there who has deciphered ObamaCare enough to clarify this?

It has been eight years since the United States suffered the worst attack on our soil since Pearl Harbor. As we look back, we should take stock of what has transpired since then. We have sent our nation's soldiers into battlefields far from home to defend us. These brave men and women live in treacherous conditions, facing improvised roadside bombs, suicide bombers and other attacks. Yet they fight on in their mission to defend the United States and all of us without complaint. etc..

With two shouted words during the president's speech to Congress Wednesday night, Congressman Joe Wilson cemented South Carolina’s status as the geographic center of opposition to the Obama White House. Just under nine months into the president's term, the state has emerged as a beachhead for the president's most aggressive conservative critics, a secure launching point for some of the harshest attacks on the administration’s policy initiatives. Its governor, Mark Sanford, led the charge of Republican governors against the Obama economic stimulus plan and made national headlines by arguing that the administration’s excessive spending could lead to an economic collapse...
