The Home Secretary has released a man regarded as one of Britain’s most dangerous terror suspects from virtual house arrest to avoid disclosing secret evidence against him, The Times has learnt. The man, known only as AF, has been subject to a controversial “control order” since 2006 because of his alleged links with Islamic terrorists. He has never been charged, however, and the evidence for the allegations has never been heard in a public court. The control order was revoked last week and the suspect’s electronic tag removed, setting him free in spite of the Government’s claim that he remains...

Valerie Jarrett Addresses the Islamic Society of North America Posted by Hammad Hammad Continuing President Obama’s outreach to Muslims, Senior Advisor to the President Valerie Jarrett spoke at the Islamic Society of North America's 46th Annual Convention. The Convention, themed "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness," brought together thousands of Muslim Americans to our nation’s capital over the July 4th weekend. An essay that appeared in Science magazine back in the 1960's explains clearly and concisely the self-destructive path we're on in our country today. The essay, "The Tragedy of the Commons", showed how individuals, rationally pursuing their self-interest, could unintentionally destroy their own common existence. A simple problem is put forth: A common grazing field is available to a community of herders. Everyone brings his or her cows there. Because there is no clear ownership, the only incentive each herder has is to bring all of his cows to graze and consume as much as possible. With everyone doing it,...

An author and terrorism expert says as the anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks approaches, Americans need to be aware of the threat of agro-terrorism and the impact it could have on the nation's food supply. Tim Downs is the author of Ends of the Earth (Thomas Nelson, September 2009), a novel which explores the scenario of a terrorist attack on U.S. farms which contaminates the nation's food supply. Downs, who has done extensive research on agro-terrorism, says it is especially difficult to defend against. "The concern about an agricultural act of terrorism is we just can't defend a thousand-acre...

Someone asked me about five days ago if I was planning to write anything about Obama’s green jobs adviser Van Jones. My other responsibilities and issues with our “enhanced” Web host was the primary reason why I was not writing, but I also figured he’d be gone by Labor Day. Bye, bye.Van Jones “resigned” – yeah, right – in the middle of the night at almost the middle of our three day weekend.

Here is video of NBC's "Meet The Press" talking about the internet and bloggers and the effect it had on Van Jones' resignation. One of the panelists said "the internet is an open sewer of untreated, unfiltered, information." (Watch Video)

It’s Labor Day on Monday and that got me thinking about the illusive promise of green jobs. Everyone seems to want one, but no one seems to be able to find one. Having written, “Green Your Work”, I get calls weekly, asking if I know of any available green jobs. Recently, a national television producer who wanted to do a story showing people doing green jobs contacted me; I wasn’t sure where to send them. The truth is that real green jobs are most often unexciting typical office or service jobs woven into the fabric of a traditional law firm...

I just spoke with my sister and my sister in-law. Combined they have four grade school kids in the Yorktown School District, (Westchester, NY). They have been informed that ONLY children who come to school WITH permission slips on Tuesday will be allowed to watch dear leader's speech. I found that angle interesting. I sent both of them all kinds of info, including the document from the Dept of Ed and the "i pledge" video which got them steamed....

President Barack Obama’s press secretary, Robert Gibbs, apologized for using the phrase “war on terror” at a recent press briefing. “I apologize for my insensitivity toward the religion of peace,” Gibbs said. “As we all know. It is the President’s position that there is no such war, there is no jihad. What I should have said is that our government will continue to strive to mitigate the effects of man-caused disasters.”

MARKHAM, Ill. (AP) -- Two decades after customers clamored to buy cocaine from a teenager named John Cappas, they're lined up again to buy what he has to sell: Hot dogs. The one-time "drug kingpin," as the newspapers called him in the late 1980s, this summer became an owner of a hot dog stand called Johnny's WeeNee Wagon.

Valerie Jarrett - Also Raised out of Country Jarrett was born to American parents James E. Bowman and Barbara Taylor Bowman in Shiraz, Iran, where her father, a pathologist and geneticist, ran a hospital for children as part of a program where American doctors and agricultural experts sought to help jump-start developing countries’ health and farming efforts. When she was five, the family moved to London for one year, returning to Chicago in 1963. As a child she spoke Persian and French. You have to see it to believe it. The singular lesson of the past week, after big media failed to uncover Jones’s Truther past and then actively suppressed it when it broke online, is that they can’t be trusted to chase stories that are inconvenient to The One — especially if doing so would burnish Glenn Beck’s credibility. And yet here they are, through two of their priestlier representatives, warning the public that only a fool would play in the “open sewer” that is the Internet, where lies and smears and video clips that the networks won’t show of Obama...

For the past several months, the federal building on Poydras Street has seen a steady stream of New Orleans police officers trudge in and out, all of them testifying before grand jurors gathering evidence of possible civil rights violations in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina -- allegations that center on police misbehavior.Federal agents, meanwhile, have been studying police e-mails and documents obtained by subpoena -- as well as through a surprise search warrant executed on the New Orleans Police Department homicide office -- in an attempt to ferret out exactly what happened in the chaotic days after the storm. The feds...

A dear FReeper FRiend reminded me that Glenn Beck is going to gather his family next Friday for a solemn day of fasting and praying for our nation. This post is a reminder for us ... for me ... to do the same.

John Murtha (Democrat) This clip is appalling - I don't have an exact date, but it happened quite a while ago. Just watch how our government runs things. Maybe Glenn can ask what is up with this?
