LONDON – British scientists claimed Wednesday to have created human sperm from embryonic stem cells for the first time, an accomplishment they say may someday help infertile men father children. The technique could in 10 years allow researchers to use the basic knowledge of how sperm develop to design treatments to enable infertile men the chance to have biological children, said lead researcher Karim Nayernia, of Newcastle University, whose team earlier produced baby mice from sperm derived in a similar way.

AOPA has expressed concern over the FAA’s broad-brush approach that would eliminate all existing through-the-fence access at public-use airports. Aircraft operations involving homes and businesses on private property that have access to airport taxiways or runways are called “through the fence” operations. The problem is of particular concern in the Northwest where the FAA is conducting an inventory of airports that have existing through-the-fence operations and is working with the airport sponsor to eventually eliminate that access. While Barack Obama continues his foreign tour in Italy, trouble is brewing on the home front. His poll numbers are slipping, as Rasmussen reports here, and Gallup does here. The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 30% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. LOS ANGELES – Scientists have detected a spike in underground rumblings on a section of California's San Andreas Fault that produced a magnitude-7.8 earthquake in 1857. What these mysterious vibrations say about future earthquakes is far from certain. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his Washington attorney said Tuesday they will not cooperate with an ongoing Department of Justice investigation into the sheriff's office until the feds name specific charges and reveal what they are looking for. An update on how my Granny is doing. The Lord definitely works through prayer. Granny is talking, sitting up, watching t.v. (Fox News, thank you), and doing much better. She keeps saying she wants to go back to rehab so she can get stronger. Prayers answered. She is scheduled to go back today to rehab (which is outside the hospital). The doctors & nurses are flaberghasted at her recovery & of how much she has recovered. We tell them it is the Lord and prayer that is getting her through this.
