This week Israel approved the transfer of 1,000 AK-47 rifles to the Palestinian Authority security forces that are being trained by American Lt.-Gen. Keith Dayton. This comes at the same time as former PA Minister of Prisoners, Ashraf al-Ajrami, is honoring these very same PA security forces for being the backbone of Palestinian terror during the five-year Terror War (Intifada). Defending these soldiers, whom Hamas mockingly calls "Dayton Forces," the PA minister gloated that they carried out "the greatest and most important operations [terror attacks]" in the war. Moreover, he also taunted Hamas for not immediately joining the Fatah forces...

A serial killer who murdered five people over six days was tracked down by police who were notified by an alert citizen, and then killed after wounding one officer when he opened fire. But as usual, there is a story behind what was published by Old Media. Law enforcement raises warning flag After examining Burris’s criminal history, South Carolina’s State Law Enforcement Division [SLED] Chief Reggie Lloyd said: "Look at this," Lloyd said, waiving [sic] a stapled copy of Burris' criminal record. "This is like 25 pages. At some point the criminal justice system is going to need to explain...

South Florida must do more to battle hate Two young men not old enough to vote have been charged with vandalizing the Islamic School of Miami in West Kendall. The charges include criminal mischief and evidencing prejudice while committing a crime. But this type of misbehavior goes much deeper than slashing tires and smashing windows at the mosque, which has been defaced, shot at and vandalized at least six times since 2005. It's a sign of how much more this community needs to do to respect religious freedom and to not stereotype an entire group of people based on religious...

Defense minister briefs senior cabinet members on London meeting with Obama's Mideast envoy; one of them quoted as saying Barak 'offered dismantling of illegal West Bank outposts in exchange for nothing' Roni Sofer "(Defense Minister Ehud) Barak returned with nothing from his talks with (special US Mideast envoy) George Mitchell; it appears that he offered the dismantling of illegal West Bank outposts in exchange for nothing," a senior minister said Tuesday. The minister, who asked to remain nameless, was also quoted by his associates as saying, "The inclusion of Syria and Lebanon in the statement on a comprehensive peace agreement...

The location of Michael Jackson's body remains a mystery today following the star's public memorial service in Los Angeles yesterday. Jackson's coffin was put on display during the ceremony at the Staples Center, but was not seen leaving the venue following the service.

SEOUL, July (Yonhap) -- North Korea appears to have orchestrated the recent cyber attack that disrupted dozens of South Korean Web sites, including that of the presidential office, parliamentary sources said Wednesday, citing informal reports by the top spy agency. The National Intelligence Service (NIS) suspects North Korea or its sympathizers may have been behind the Internet attack against major South Korean Web sites of government agencies, banks and Internet portals, which was first detected Tuesday evening, according to the sources who spoke on condition of anonymity. The spy agency briefed some of the lawmakers on an individual basis or...

I’m all for Governor Sarah Palin’s move over the weekend. It’s time for her to get out of Alaska’s small town, ankle-biting politics. Now she can take her show on the road. This is a woman brimming with charisma and raw political appeal. That’s why everyone’s afraid of her, and attacking her. In other words, Sarah Palin has the power to reinvigorate conservatism and republicanism. Here's my debate last night with nationally syndicated columnist Deroy Murdock.

EDITORIAL: Sotomayor plays the race cardThe Washington Times, LLC A biased judge should not be promoted to a higher court. Yet the Obama administration has not been able to put to rest fears that Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor might let ethnic grievances sway her decisions on the bench. That's exactly what it appears Judge Sotomayor did in the Ricci v. DeStefano case, in which she ruled that white firefighters could be denied promotions they clearly had earned. That's why it is worth revisiting the Supreme Court nominee's infamous "wise Latina" speech. The renewed focus on that speech should center...

We can't discuss Barack Obama's views on Israel and the rest of the world until we face the fact that he is a Muslim. This is not an accusation; if anything, it testifies to America's goodness and forgiveness. And if there is doubt about his being a Muslim, we have the man at his own word. In his speech from Cairo University, he told the Muslim world, 'I am your brother.' That is not exactly what he said, but this is the quote: "I am a Christian, but my father came from a Kenyan family that includes generations of Muslims."...

Here is video of Bill O'Reilly calling CNN's Rick Sanchez "a clown" for his remark immediately following Gov. Sarah Palin's resignation announcement that specualted Palin "might be pregnant." O'Reilly was talking to Bernie Goldberg about media treatment of Palin's resignation. Goldberg advised Sanchez not to think you have to say everything that comes into your mind! . . . . (Watch Video)

One might think that the forcible citizen disarmament lobby in California (ranked by the Brady Campaign as the number one, most tyrannical) would consider their work there to be just about finished, and move on to disarm some other state. This, after all, is a state that bans certain guns because of their color, bans faux "assault weapons" from a list so expansive (far more so than the expired federal AWB) it includes even some single-shot rifles (because they're .50 caliber), is the only state so far to have mandated "microstamping," etc. Unfortunately, though, to believe that the California gun...

Pres Obama's Plan A -- a $787B stimulus package -- isn't working. But never fear: His advisers are ready with Plan B. Unfortunately, it's a repeat of Plan A. One economic guru, Laura Tyson, argued that a second package should be considered......this fits a definition of insanity: repeating behavior and expecting a different result. The stimulus sought to bail out states w/ deficits, protecting social-service programs. It pushed a liberal agenda for dubious ideas like "green jobs." It included billions in pork (a $3.4M underpass for turtles in Tallahassee)......much of the spending wouldn't take place for months, if not years.......

The United States will call for "even stricter sanctions on Iran to try to change the behavior of the regime," US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in a TV interview broadcast late Tuesday. Washington remained concerned about what Clinton called Iran's "pursuit of nuclear weapons," which could "be very destabilizing in the Middle East and beyond," Clinton told the private Venezuelan television network Globovision.

Last month, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed Senate Resolution 26 "Apologizing for the enslavement and racial segregation of African-Americans." The resolution ends with: "Disclaimer. -- Nothing in this resolution (a) authorizes or supports any claim against the United States; or (b) serves as a settlement of any claim against the United States." That means Congress apologizes but is not going to pay reparations, as least for now. Members of the Congressional Black Caucus have expressed concerns about the disclaimer, thinking that it's an attempt to stave off reparations claims from the descendants of slaves. Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman Barbara Lee,...

Do those who carry a gun for self defense belong here? (photo of prison cell) Agree to disagree. Live and let live, right? This is the attitude of most people in Atlanta today about controversial topics. We all can disagree and yet still get along. Does this philosophy hold up when applied to the "gun control" debate? I think not. It does from my side of the argument. I carry a gun every day. I enjoy shooting guns, and I am competent at doing so. I also view my gun as a necessary tool that might save my life or...

Congress and the president enacted a $787 billion fiscal stimulus package in February. Yet here it is July, and the desired effect on the economy has yet to be seen. Even though the program was aimed at boosting demand and creating jobs by pouring federal dollars into the economy, unemployment hit 9.5 percent in June, the highest rate in 26 years.

It's been an exciting nine months since we launched the Google Chrome browser. Already, over 30 million people use it regularly. We designed Google Chrome for people who live on the web — searching for information, checking email, catching up on the news, shopping or just staying in touch with friends. However, the operating systems that browsers run on were designed in an era where there was no web. So today, we're announcing a new project that's a natural extension of Google Chrome — the Google Chrome Operating System. It's our attempt to re-think what operating systems should be. Google...

When you're up to your waders in barracuda, blame the media. And quit your job. And say you did it for the people. And hire an agent. And try to keep a straight face. On your way to the bank. Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public, H.L. Mencken once said. Terribly elitist fellow, that Mencken. If only he were alive to witness the phenomenon of Sarah Palin, whose biography validates every cynical thought that ever found expression in his prolific prose..... Meanwhile, getting real, can we stop pretending that Palin is interested in anything other...

Some time last week the Washington Post issued a flier advertising a "salon" on the health-care issue. Over dinner at the home of the paper's publisher, Katharine Weymouth, participants were promised "a collegial evening, with Obama administration officials, Congress members, business leaders, advocacy leaders and other select minds." The paper's executive editor and its "health-care reporters" would be there too, but not in a "confrontational" capacity, you could rest assured. Everything would be safely "off-the-record." And you could "bring your organization's CEO or executive director literally to the table" for a mere $25,000. Even in Washington, it's unusual to see...
