WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Ted Kennedy, who has been recuperating from brain cancer surgery, was back in Washington on Thursday as President Obama set out to tackle a major domestic policy item on his increasingly loaded plate -- health care reform. Kennedy, 77, suffered a seizure in May 2008 at his home on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Shortly afterward, doctors diagnosed a brain tumor. He has been holed up in Massachusetts to recover, rarely returning to Washington.

Watching clips of some of my old favorite movies the other night and this one just struck me as extremely similar to what EARS is doing to the U.S.A. Notice the excuse that Nurse Ratched uses for the rationing. Sound familiar? Even though it wasn't effective, the current situation makes me feel like going "Cheswick". :) I WANT MY CIGARETTES!!! "[T]he College Republicans must be punished or sanctioned for throwing shoes at the Hamas flag; pending charges should be dropped against the two protestors who assaulted the College Republicans and seized the Hamas flag; and, most ominously for defenders of free _expression on campus, a forum should be created to 'educate' students about what forms of speech the 'offended' students deem acceptable or unacceptable, including what the Left regularly tries to proscribe as 'hate speech.'"

Barbara Bush had open-heart surgery. She's fine. This should be of interest to you however. As soon as we get the Democrat's nationalized medicine your chances of getting open-heart surgery at her age will be somewhat similar to my chances of waking up tomorrow with a full head of hair. Commissar Obama is really pushing this nationalized medicine thing. Remember .. in Obama's mind America's greatness comes from government - on only government can provide us with a great health care system. Private sector? Forget it. If there are any certainties in our life - one would be the certainty...

There are no fast solutions – either for the US economy or for individuals trying to rebuild retirement funds clobbered by the falling stock market. That was the message from Mark Zandi, one of the nation’s top economists. Mr. Zandi is co-founder and chief economist of Economy.Com, a firm that provides various kinds of research to individual, business, and corporate clients. He was the guest at a Monitor-sponsored breakfast for reporters on Thursday. How long will it take the stock market to recover? “It could be a decade,” Zandi said. “If I were an individual thinking about the size of...

I guess I shouldn't be amazed at the number of slacker ignoramuses who are up in arms about my frank review cutting down the absolute crap they worship a/k/a "The Watchmen", coming out in theaters late tonight. The e-mails they send me and the comments they make about how "deep," "edgy" and "profound" this vile piece of trash (which is none of these) reminds me of the blind statements of followers of Jim Jones. And we all know what happened after they drank he purple Kool-Aid. If only this movie could achieve that result, it would be the most fantastic...

One way to rein in your plant purchases this spring without putting a damper on your dream garden is to use annuals — especially those you can start from seeds sown directly into the garden. For $15 to $25 — the price of one or two flats of flowers or hanging baskets — you can buy a fistful of seed packets that will produce hundreds of plants in a rainbow of colors and shapes. Some annuals, such as morning glories, hyacinth bean, cardinal climber and moonflower, climb by leaps and bounds. Sunflowers, in shades of red, cherry, gold or white,...

You gotta hand it to the gang that brought the 20th century such innovations as airline hijacking, they are always at work to come come up with more imaginative ways to terrorize civilians… Yet another bulldozer terror attack in Jerusalem today And these people, who not only are open about their absolute intention to destroy the Joo State, will now receive over $5 billion in aid. Aid that will either disappear as it did under Arafat (though his wife, while living in Paris, managed to get a $250,000 monthly allowance, at a time when the average Paslestinian family was averaging...

he unholy alliance between the White House and ABC's George Stephanopoulos goes beyond mere conference calls with President Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. The executive producer of "This Week" is married to newly-confirmed United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice. Such was reported by Commentary magazine's Jennifer Rubin Thursday: You know those fawning little bios which the MSM runs? Well sometimes you learn the strangest things: “[UN Ambassador Susan] Rice is married to Canadian journalist Ian Cameron, executive producer of ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos.” Wait. The EP of a top Sunday show is married to a top Obama official?...

Finally after five straight down days for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), it rallied back 149 points to finish at 6,875 on March 4. But it picked right back up today and continued to fall. What's holding it back? CNBC "The Kudlow Report " host Larry Kudlow had Jeff Macke, founder and president of Macke Asset Management on his March 4 program and asked if the rally, along with other indicators might be signs of a recovery. Macke, a co-host of CNBC's "Fast Money" said he wasn't impressed and blamed President Barack Obama. "It would if not for an...

News reports today point out that President Obama is going a little gray at the temples. Is it the stress of the job, or is he due to go gray about now anyway? We saw it happen to George Bush, and in dramatic fashion with Bill Clinton. Obama saw his own grayer self coming.

There is something sinisterly frightening about Dumbo's actions of late. Certainly, we here were all aware that he was a Black Liberation Socialist and that his election would have dire consequences, but lately, he has engaged in an orgy of gratuitous destruction that simply can not be explained by a desire to build a Soviet America. Of course his support of Card Check is a quid pro quo to the big unions who supported him. But overturning Bush's executive order allowing doctors to refuse to preform abortions if their consciences didn't permit it was just a slap in the face....
