WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Ted Kennedy, who has been recuperating from brain cancer surgery, was back in Washington on Thursday as President Obama set out to tackle a major domestic policy item on his increasingly loaded plate -- health care reform.

Kennedy, 77, suffered a seizure in May 2008 at his home on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Shortly afterward, doctors diagnosed a brain tumor. He has been holed up in Massachusetts to recover, rarely returning to Washington.

From the article:

Kennedy's colleague Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah said Thursday that while it's "hard when you're not here" pushing for reform, Kennedy has an "excellent staff and he is in constant communication with them on what he wants to do."

Hatch, a Republican, said that Kennedy's long history of working on the issue and outreach to the health care community will help him in his quest.

"He, more than any other person, can get those groups to move on health care, and that's one reason he is very important to this process," Hatch said. "He's got so much experience he can spend less time on it than most people."

Barf.

If Kennedy lived in the world of socialized medicine that he wants to create, he would already be 6 ft. under.

But, alas, even if the serfs get socialized health care, the elites will be immune...

Maybe I should mail Hatch a snorkel, he’s obviously oxygen deprived with his head up Kennedy’s ass.

F all of these ‘Gentlemen’. I am sick to death of the comity of the Senate where the only action seems to be ‘Go along to get along’. I feel the same way when these Dumba$$es stand up behind someone presenting a solution, talk hours patting each other on the back for their hard work and dedication when the speech is about a solution to a problem all of these jerks had a hand in creating in the first place. /rant

I am so sick of these evil RINOs. They are worse than Democrats because they pretend to be Republicans/conservatives.

I'm very surprised by this.

I thought that Teddy Kennedy had died.

They’ve been doing damage to our cause for decades. We have needed a house cleaning clear back before Reagan. Even during his term there were those who did more damage than good. It’s a shame, but we need to come to terms with it and get back on track.

Well, guys like Hatch strike me as a loathsome lot, not a person you can count on, and in as many instances as not they won’t get it at all.

Yes

What is it about a crime that it becomes nothing more than an inconvenience if one brings it up after a certain time expires?

Off with his head! (the non-cancerous part)

I don't want to be there when "Sheets" Byrd finds out what Hatch and Kennedy have been getting up to behind his back.
