If his fellow Harvard MBAs are all so clever, how come so many are now in disgrace? If Robespierre were to ascend from hell and seek out today’s guillotine fodder, he might start with a list of those with three incriminating initials beside their names: MBA. The Masters of Business Administration, that swollen class of jargon-spewing, value-destroying financiers and consultants have done more than any other group of people to create the economic misery we find ourselves in. From Royal Bank of Scotland to Merrill Lynch, from HBOS to Leh-man Brothers, the Masters of Disaster have their fingerprints on every...

A former CIA officer tells Fox News its ridiculous that the Bush administration didn't execute numerous prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, regardless of whether they have had a trial, when it had the chance.

UPDATED to include Dane Patterson's apology. A followup to my Thursday story about the fabricated account of "Biggest Loser" eliminee Dane Patterson running a marathon, when in fact he only ran 23 miles: The producers of "The Biggest Loser" are taking full responsibility for the misrepresentation. Here's the apology put out late Thursday night by Reveille, the company behind "TBL": "As the Executive Producers of 'The Biggest Loser' we would like to make an official apology and set the record straight with regards to the claim in last night's episode that Dane completed a marathon in Arizona. "After seeing on...

They're teaching "faith" in public schools: Alicia Garcia's father was serving in Iraq, and her letter asks Obama to "please send my dad home." But even before the letter started making its way to the White House, the girl's family received word that her dad would return this month. The news has cemented the fourth-grader's faith in the new president. "My dad's coming home," she said solemnly. "I think it's because Obama won."

Federal Union Boss Calls Limbaugh's Comments 'Unacceptable' Colleen M. Kelley, president of the National Treasury Employees Union that represents more than 150,000 federal employees, joined the fight against Rush Limbaugh this morning, criticizing the radio talk show host for his recent comments on President Obama. “Rush Limbaugh had the audacity to announce on national radio, 'I hope he fails.' Imagine anyone saying that. If he fails, our country fails. That is unacceptable," she said during opening remarks at the union's annual legislative conference. NTEU spokeswoman Dina Long stressed that Kelley's comments were hers alone and that the union has many...

TEMPE, Ariz. — Mark Cooper started his workday recently cleaning the door handles of an office building with a rag, vigorously shaking out a rug at a back entrance and pushing a dust mop down a long hallway. Nine months ago he lost his job as the security manager for the Western United States for a Fortune 500 company, overseeing a budget of $1.2 million and earning about $70,000 a year. Now he is grateful for the $12 an hour he makes in what is known in unemployment circles as a "survival job" at a friend's janitorial-services company. But that...

NEW YORK (CNN) -- I think I am developing a crush on America's first lady. Michelle Obama is more compelling than her husband. He's good, but she's utterly fascinating. Mrs. Obama has blown away the stale air in a White House musty from eight years of the Bushes. It's like the sun came out and a fresh spring breeze began wafting through the open windows. It's the people's house, and Michelle Obama totally gets it. So much so that she has taken to inviting people in from the streets to see her home. Nice touch -- one completely lacking in...

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Republican senators have unanimously signed their names to a letter telling President Barack Obama that he needs to fill some of the many open slots in lower federal courts with President Bush's nominees for those positions or face filibusters of his own picks. The move, if successful, could be a benefit for the pro-life movement as Bush's judicial selections are significantly more pro-life than the ones Obama will likely make. During the end of the Bush administration, pro-abortion Democrats in Congress refused to allow votes on some of his nominees, including pro-life advocates who would have...

Who pays more, less and nothing at all under the president's proposals. In Depth: How Obama Tax Plan Affects Eight Families WASHINGTON, D.C.--The $787 billion stimulus package passed in February and President Barack Obama's budget plan released on Thursday contain a confusing assortment of changes to the tax code.

Many of my Democratic friends think our new President is the best thing since sliced bread. It is their belief he and his crowd are simply the same old Democratic Party operatives…only a bit more liberal. They couldn’t be more wrong. This new administration is in fact dangerous. It may be due to naivete or it may be by design. Either way, I do not want them to succeed. I want America and Americans to thrive but for that to happen the plans these people have to remake America must be stopped.

Conspiracies: The US Constitution is our only protection against Global Schemers I get an e-mail every now and then warning about some conspiracy or other: The Amero, North American Union, etc. This time it was the Trilateral Commission-Barack Obama connection. Web sites like this one keep the alarm bells clanging by hinting darkly about hidden connections and nefarious plots. I hesitate to even call these things a conspiracy, because they always begin with a grain of truth and usually follow open, accepted facts through to some logical conclusion. The North American Union really is an ideal espoused by people in...

The latest Marist Poll shows that just 26% of New York voters think Gov. David Paterson is doing either an excellent or good job in office. That's a drop of 20 points since the end of January. In fact, Paterson's approval rating is the lowest any New York governor has received in the poll's nearly thirty year history. In a general election match up, Rudy Giuliani (R) crushes Paterson 53% to 38%. The two were in a statistical tie two months ago. In a Democratic primary, Andrew Cuomo also crushes Paterson 62% to 26%. However, Cuomo would defeat Giuliani 56%...

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A group of evangelicals have joined with the Obama apologists at Catholics United to support radical pro-abortion health Secretary nominee Kathleen Sebelius. The group have signed a letter borrowing arguments from the fake Catholic group backing Sebelius despite her lengthy pro-abortion record. As LifeNews.com has reported, President Barack Obama tapped the Kansas governor to become his top health official.Sebelius has earned strong opposition from pro-life groups because she has vetoed nearly every pro-life bill sent to her from the legislature and has worked hand-in-hand with late-term abortion practitioner George Tiller.Catholics United, which deceived voters about Obama's...

Mr. Obama's budget proposes to spend this windfall on two items: $15 billion a year in more subsidies for alternative fuels, and $65 billion or so a year to finance tax subsidies for workers, many of whom don't pay income taxes. In other words, once this cap-and-trade tax is on the books, the revenue stream will create political constituencies that depend on it...

A frighteningly naive Obama talking about large growth stock, diversifying portfolios etc. In these troubled times do you really want to trust a community organizer who doesn't know economics 101 with the largest most complicated economy in the world. WATCH VIDEO (it's only about 90 seconds).

Scientists have created a strain of the human AIDS virus able to infect and multiply in monkeys in a step toward testing future vaccines in monkeys before trying them in people, according to a new study. This strain of HIV, the human immunodeficiency virus, was developed by altering a single gene in the human version to allow it to infect a type of monkey called a pig-tailed macaque, the researchers said on Monday. The genetically engineered virus, once injected into this monkey, proliferates almost as much as it does in people, but the animal ultimately suppresses it and the virus...

Make no mistake: President Obama's recently announced $US75 billion housing plan is a long-term policy disaster insofar as it merely treats the symptoms of the calamity in an extremely costly manner via crude short-term interest rate relief -- read: good taxpayers bailing out bad -- and remarkably, does nothing at all to prevent the next generation of US borrowers experiencing exactly the same problems in the future. In fact, it can be argued that it only creates a higher tax burden for tomorrow's taxpayers. Disturbingly, the Administration's response also exacerbates the underlying dysfunctionality that is the root cause of the...
