Federal Union Boss Calls Limbaugh's Comments 'Unacceptable' Colleen M. Kelley, president of the National Treasury Employees Union that represents more than 150,000 federal employees, joined the fight against Rush Limbaugh this morning, criticizing the radio talk show host for his recent comments on President Obama.
“Rush Limbaugh had the audacity to announce on national radio, 'I hope he fails.' Imagine anyone saying that. If he fails, our country fails. That is unacceptable," she said during opening remarks at the union's annual legislative conference.
NTEU spokeswoman Dina Long stressed that Kelley's comments were hers alone and that the union has many Democratic and Republican members. But Kelley's comments come as the Democratic Party and liberal groups partially funded by labor unions ramp up a "Republicans equal Limbaugh" campaign through radio and television commercials.
Kelley, who has served as NTEU national president since 1999, also expressed an eagerness to work with President Obama following eight years of difficulties with the Bush administration.

imagine that a government-dependent federal workers union going to bat for Obama. Isn’t there a law that stops fed workers from engaging in politics?
These people are so stupid. There is a difference between the country failing and the president failing. If Obama proposes socialism, it is in the best interest of the country that he not succeed at implementing that agenda. If he doesn’t get what he wants, he will have failed, but the country will be better off for it.
