The results are flowing in for February sales and they are not pretty (again):
Ford -48% Toyota -40% Honda -38%
I bet Chrysler and GM are both off more than 50%. Anyone else care to take a stab?
TOPICS: Business/Economy
KEYWORDS: auto; car; chrysler; gm

How times change: GM survived the Great Depression without losing money a single year!

VW actually posted a profit in 2008 and hiked their dividend. I have to admit my jaw dropped when I saw that. I haven’t heard how they are keeping their heads above water in this turbulence. Cheap German labor? ;-p

Uh, good sales figures in China, Germany and Brazil, not bad in the US.

That makes sense. I forgot about their leadership in the Chinese market and the comeback they were staging there.

Volkswagen AG said Tuesday its U.S. sales in February fell 17% from a year earlier to 13,660 units
Not good on an absolute basis, but much better than GM, Toyota, and Ford in the US.
