Mr. Obama's budget proposes to spend this windfall on two items: $15 billion a year in more subsidies for alternative fuels, and $65 billion or so a year to finance tax subsidies for workers, many of whom don't pay income taxes. In other words, once this cap-and-trade tax is on the books, the revenue stream will create political constituencies that depend on it...

I send my congressman comments about his voting record or up and coming programs. I thought I would post my comments under an appropriate thread. This comment is on the proposed cap and trade program proposed by our Prez. The congressman is Patrick Murphy, a liberal congressman in his second term. Pat does whatever Nancy tells him to do.

Hi Pat: Vote for any bills you didn't read today.
Lets look at our not so bright Prez's cap and trade proposal. We will auction off carbon credits and our Prez expects to get Billions of $. The suppliers will raise the price of their products so this scam is just a poor excuse for another tax. Now our not so bright Prez recognizes that increased energy cost will be a hardship. So 10% of the money the Prez gets will be provided back to the proletariat in the way of tax credits. I understand that a taxable return of 75K will be the cut off for this credit.
Now companies get a rate of return on the cost of their goods or services. So a company getting a 10% return will charge their customers 110% of this new cost. I assume that the majority of the tax credits will go to your favorite people - those who don't pay taxes. So working people who produce lose big time while those who take win for doing nothing more than doing nothing.

You have voted for every bill that Nancy told you to vote for. It's time you take a stand. You need to tell Nancy not to vote for this stupid bill.

Your party's philosophy is not logical. You spend trillions of our money for worthless projects and programs which will severely impact the future of our children. Yet you will add trillions of additional cost to Americans so that our children will not need to put up with another degree of higher temperatures. So thanks to you our children will be poor but cool.

You need to research global warming. If indeed we are warming, the man made co2 release is approximately 1/2 of 1% of all greenhouse gases being released. Forcing America to spend billions to reduce co2 will have zero impact on global warming. Zero. Understand what zero means. Its the same as the grade you get for your work and voting record in congress. Zero.

Let me give an example from your own web site. "Murphy fought for and secured $2 million for this project over the last two years. Thanks to the federal funding secured by Murphy, Humanistic Robotics moved their operation from Philadelphia to Bristol and will be creating more than a dozen jobs at their new facility.

Now lets do some math. I'll do it for you because I know it may be too hard for you. 1 dozen jobs = 12 jobs. If we divide the cost to taxpayers ($2,000,000) by the number of job we get the cost the government had to pay to bring these jobs to Bucks County. So $2,000,000/12 = $166,666 per job. Do you think this is a good use of taxpayers money?

You will not be re-elected so help me God.

That is excellent, Sled. Bravo. “Vote for any bills you didn’t read today” made me chuckle. We’ve all got to make our objections known so these Washingtonian midgets in know that we won’t stand to let them destroy the country.
