THEY GAVE YOUR MORTGAGE TO A LESS QUALIFIED MINORITY September 24, 2008 On MSNBC this week, Newsweek's Jonathan Alter tried to connect John McCain to the current financial disaster, saying: "If you remember the Keating Five scandal that (McCain) was a part of. ... He's really getting a free ride on the fact that he was in the middle of the last great financial scandal in our country." McCain was "in the middle of" the Keating Five case in the sense that he was "exonerated." The lawyer for the Senate Ethics Committee wanted McCain removed from the investigation altogether, but,...

Bob Adams of...

When Senator McCain chose Governor Palin to serve as his running mate, he unleashed from the left the most incredible torrent of sewerage we have ever seen heaped upon a Vice Presidential candidate. Alan Colmes said she caused the Downes Syndrome of her baby. Obama operatives said Trig was actually her grandchild. Al Franken helped write a skit for Saturday Night Live that suggested that Sarah’s husband had sex with his daughters. The head of South Carolina’s Democratic Party said that Governor Palin’s only credential was that she had never had an abortion. And so on and so on. To...

A conservation group officially notified the city of San Francisco Wednesday intends to sue over alleged harm to two federally protected species on a city-owned golf course in Pacifica. The Center for Biological Diversity claims activities at San Francisco's Sharp Park Golf Course in Pacifica are harming and killing California red-legged frogs and San Francisco garter snakes in violation of the U.S. Endangered Species Act. The California red-legged frog is listed as a threatened species and the San Francisco garter snake is classified as an endangered species under the law. The law requires submission of a 60-day notice of intent...

The question however is what does Obama offer to ethnic minorities from Asia and Far Eastern countries? Is he really the right choice for this group? Are we sure that the policies of Obama presidency and perhaps even today's Democratic Party and its leaders are right for the ethnic minority of Asian background?

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- As if getting a DUI wasn’t enough, a man arrested for driving under the influence got in a lot more trouble at the police station. Police stopped Jose Cruz on Route 60 in South Charleston Monday night for driving with his headlights off. Then, he failed sobriety tests and was arrested. When police were trying to get fingerprints, police say Cruz moved closer to the officer and passed gas on him. The investigating officer remarked in the criminal complaint that the odor was very strong. Cruz is now charged with battery on a police officer,...

At least since September 8 the extreme left has been pushing a lie that Governor, then Mayor, Sarah Palin "charged rape victims for rape kits" performed upon them in the Alaskan town of Wasilla. The charge stems from a May 22, 2000 article in the local Wasilla paper The Frontiersman and has been spun from a comment made by the Wasilla Police Chief. This comment was somehow made into a Sarah Palin policy. Evidence of the incident, though, shows no involvement by Palin at all.

The ceremony began with student council members cutting the American flag into sections, following U.S. Flag Code specifications, which state that “a flag ceases to be a flag when it is cut into pieces.” As the flag was cut into four sections, fifth-grade student council members Zach Smith, Maci Forsythe, Sadye Simpson, Stormy Vielman, Erin Smith, Maitlin Wade and Hannah King read passages from the flag ceremony text: “The red stripes remind us of the lifeblood of brave men and women who were ready to die for this, their country. “The white stripes remind us of purity and cleanliness of...

Dane County Circuit Court Judge Marianne Sumi ruled today that Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen can sue the Government Accountability Board even though the board is a client of the attorney general's office.Lester Pines, the attorney for the GAB, made the conflict-of-interest argument the center of his objection to having Van Hollen involved in the lawsuit. Pines said the Wisconsin Supreme Court rules specifically prohibit a lawyer from suing a client. But Sumi said that under the Supreme Court provision the attorney general can have deputies enforce laws upon state agencies. That means the attorney general can proceed with the...

Congressional Republicans line up behind McCain call While congressional Democrats, including Harry Reid, urge McCain to not return to Washington, the GOP nominee's colleagues line up behind the move. In a coordinated move, the Republican congressional leadership has issued statements on McCain's decision. "I strongly support Sen. McCain’s proposal for a bipartisan leadership meeting of both Houses of Congress, including Sen. McCain and Sen. Obama," said House Minority Leader John Boehner. "Given that it is only a few months before a new president takes the oath of office, it is vital that the next president play an active role in...

John McCain exemplifies the concept of Country First. I don't think that anyone in this country seriously believes that the debate in Mississippi is more important to our nation than the debate in Washington on the recovery plan. Obama has again displayed his aloof and arrogant attitude in his statement "Call me if you need me". He either assumes he has nothing new to offer or that his time as a candidate is more important than his responsibilities as a lawmaker. In this case, he's not even there to vote "not present". In doing so, he forfeits any opportunity to...

I am watching Fast Money on CNBC and just realized out Freepers and Republicans have screwed up this Paulson Plan big time. Fast Money was discussing the Democrat amendments to the plan. The Republicans have so far refused to consider the plan. The plan will not address our concerns! There is no way that a plan will not be passed into law. The Democrats have enough votes to get it through and Bush will sign it!! IMO, I think this is why Buffett bought into Goldman yesterday. He knows this. I also think this is why McCain is coming back...

“In my mind, it’s more important than ever that we present ourselves to the American people and describe where we want to take the country and where we want to take the economy,” said the Democratic candidate for the Presidency, Senator Barack Obama. The statement was given in response to Senator John McCain’s surprising announcement that he had suspended his campaign to focus on the looming financial crisis in America by returning to Washington to help craft and pass emergency legislation. McCain had invited his opponent to join him in returning to Washington to deal with the crisis. He also...

Bruce E. Ivins, the Army scientist the FBI says is the sole culprit behind the 2001 anthrax-by-mail attacks that killed five people, apparently was barred from all government labs in March after spilling anthrax on himself and going home to wash his clothes before telling his bosses....

Economy Overview: The administration's vast bailout plan is meeting resistance this week, with Democrats calling for a more populist plan, Sen. John McCain and others on Capitol Hill calling for more congressional oversight of these proposed new powers for Treasury, and some conservatives and economists of all stripes questioning the efficacy of Paulson's plan, if not the broad idea of a bailout. The mood of the day in Washington is panic and fear. Lawmakers in meetings with Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke left ashen-faced when warned about the potential course of the U.S. economy absent...

The current scourge of the Rocky Mountain region — the mountain pine beetle — has been decimating lodgepole pine populations, leaving millions of acres of dead trees in its wake throughout western North America. Now, researchers are predicting that on top of disrupting the timber industry and crafting the depressing vistas of dead trees that now welcome tourists, the infestation may alter the weather and affect the region's air quality. "With this unprecedented bark beetle outbreak, there really is the potential for large-scale changes to the forest with respect to weather and air quality," said Alex Guenther, the leader of...

One reason that Sen. McCain may remain competitive: The survey shows that voters have grown even angrier about the direction of country than they were over the summer, a sentiment that the Arizona lawmaker has appealed to with a passionate populist message. For more than a week, he has eviscerated Wall Street and Washington alike for the greed, corruption and incompetence he says lie behind the financial meltdown. At the same time, a majority of voters still believe Sen. Obama is best able to handle the economy, and many more believe he would bring real change to the country than...
