BARBRA STREISAND'S admiration for Bill Clinton hasn't wavered, despite the fact that he is no longer president. Streisand was like a giddy school girl at a chi-chi dinner for California's Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer, last week in L.A. (At the Pacific Palisades home of venture capitalist David Fisher.) Clinton, still wildly popular with Democrats, attended, and Barbra was starry-eyed, protective and affectionate with him.

I... underestimated the propensity of my people for narrow-mindedness and self-destruction (the Jewish vote for Mrs. Clinton was about 70%)....

Some anti-Semitism is irrational, founded in ignorance, as in Hillary's case....

But other forms of anti-Semitism can be earned, giving folks legitimate grievances against a people because they do crazy things like EXTEND HILLARY CLINTON'S POLITICAL LIFE!

This is not to cast the entire blame on Jewish New Yorkers; they alone couldn't have elected her. In my initial optimism, I equally underestimated the urban pseudo-intellectual's high-mindedness, as well as the Everyman's yearning for celebrity in his midst.

I think it is safe to say that "raw sex" isn't part of the package.

At least not inspired by and for krinton. I don't even think somebody like Babs, driven by an ego the size of the moon and consumed with a lifetime of self-glorification and image doctoring, would ever voluntarily enter into congress with a bulbous-nosed onanist complete with the baggy eyes, paunch and cooked-fish flesh that has rewarded his lifetime pursuit of dissipation.

No, Babs seems to like the more manly types like James Brolin that wear plaid shirts and fight demon possessed cars. Other paramours, like Ryan O'Neal, like to tie on the gloves, get in the ring, and pummel their spouses. Yes, Babs likes a certain permutation of the real-man syndrome and krinton doesn't fit.

Now, Henry Kissinger once remarked that the greatest aphrodisiac was power (and he'd have to know if he wasn't lying), but then, Babs could get the same thrill from mounting a personal massage device onto the bumber of a Peterbilt semi-truck tractor.

Personally, I'd vote for self-hate or stupidity.
