Just in. I am looking at a picture of the WTC with smoke pouring out of the western tower. Looks like a huge amount of damage. Debris raining down on people in the street.

Just returned home from the funeral. A certain group who protest at GI funerals had apparently threated to be at his, and the Patriot Riders showed up to counter them.

It was awesome how many people attended, and the attention his family got.

My brother, who lives in Colorado, decided that Gov. Ritter might be OK after all. He attended the funeral, too, without reporters of his own, and ordered flags flown at half-staff.

I also told the family about the comments here on FR. Thanks.

And thank you! I intended my post as a thank-you to them, as well, but didn't expressly SAY thank you.

So, to all the Patriot Riders, those who attended Ken's funeral, and those who were elsewhere, Thank You for YOUR service!!!

I only got to thank a few of them personally, and they kept thanking ME for my cousin's service and sacrifice.

Kenny apparently knew he was going to die in Iraq. He felt it was worth it, for our country, and to help the Iraqi people. I am awed that we have people like that in our country, and deeply regret that I didn't get to know him first-hand.

RIP, Cuz.

We were walking back from a restaurant during the summer. As we walked past a Legion post on our way to our car, I saw Patriot Guard Rider bikes all over. I wanted to go in and get their autograph but my husband wouldn’t let me.

On the other hand, it would have taken hours for me to do the same. Maybe he was right to be concerned?

We had to leave to get to the reception (which was more of wake for family and friends) and then go to get some sleep before driving back from Denver. It was a LONG weekend. I think that getting an autograph from each of the Riders would have taken longer than the drive back, and that was 13 hours.
