Pinellas Pasco Judge Greer set October 15, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. for her feeding tube to be removed. There's something wrong with Florida's exit protocols and the way the courts handle new information re: criminality (misrepresentation, attempted murder, etc.) affecting a case. There was no living will, only the assertion of a very suspect, so-called husband, his brother, etc. that Terri would not want to live on life support. Terri is not on life support, she is not comatose or PVS and she is not living "artificially". She does get sustenance from a feeding tube but only because she has been denied rehabilitation by her so-called husband after he won a malpratice lawsuit three years after her collapse (cause unknown but probably due to strangulation or physical abuse, or both) which is why Terri needs an army of supporters to spread her story from coast to coast. Terri has retained rights that are being sidestepped because she is disabled and has been denied rehabilitation! The technologies of rehabilitation have greatly improved exponentially yet Judge Greer has not let Terri have a chance to learn to eat or to be able to learn to speak/communicate again. Also new information bearing on the case which shows criminality on husband's side has not been considered by the 2nd District Court of Appeals who handed down Mandate for termination of Terri's feeding based upon testimony of criminal husband and brother as above stated. Who is next?
Let's make a difference! Thank you for your efforts.

Are the churches of Pinellas Co. oblivious to this murder planned for 2 p.m. on Oct. 15? I am wondering if the churches aren't just sitting in their comfortable pews humming choruses and listening to "feel good" sermons while a precious life hangs in the balance. I am beginning to think that people in Pinellas Co. hate the disabled.
I noticed last night that John Walsh's "America's Most Wanted" (Fox, 9 p.m. Eastern) featured two stories on crimes in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties.

Are we supposed to leave the 5,100-post section and come to this one now? Apparently, most are sticking with the longer thread.

If she is as you say she is, why do the courts continue to rule as they do? It would seem that this is a factual matter? No?

Does she have to remain in Florida? Time is slipping away so if she resided elswhere in the U.S.; maybe this would give her lawyers more time to plan for her survival.

Well, the "estranged husband" and official guardian has her under 24-hour bodyguard watch, and it is impossible to take her from the hospice. He wants her dead YESTERDAY.
To: Pegita
Regarding a "criminal" husband: there is evidence that Terri may have been battered the night of her collapse. This is not conclusive, nor is this to be read as a direct accusation.
However, a bone scan the following year revealed multiple injuries and major trauma to Terri. Broken wrists, ankles, vertebrae, a compression fracture in her femur.
When she was first admitted, the attending physician said her rigid neck was an injury he had only seen once before - in the victim of attempted strangulation.
A radiologist reviewing Terri's scan said that she had "been worked over pretty good".
It is because of these statements that many believe Terri's condition could very well be the result of physicial abuse. Terri is about 5'5" and weighed under 130 when she collapsed. Her "husband" is 6'6" and over 250.
Again, this is neither conclusive nor an accusation. It is, however, evidence that some find terribly hard to ignore.

I am appalled at the people of Pinellas Co., FL. They should have long been marching on the courthouse of "Judge" George W. Greer. If there is no recall in FL (there is none in TX except for city officials under a home-rule charter), they should be demonstrating loudly and demanding Greer's resignation.
Instead will they just reelect Greer in 2004?

Not a chance. Just as long as someone runs against him, he's out on his bum. My cat could beat him at this stage.
The people of this county have wised up.

Then the fault is not with the people of Pinellas Co. then? I would be unsurprised if Greer does not retire at the end of 2004. He has done his part for the euthanasia movement and will be held in prominent regard among the advocates of "mercy killing." He may though think he can win again. With such little outrage from the citizenry over this starvation, Greer may think HE is God incarnate!
To: pc93
It would appear that each documented injury could be grounds for litigation on each case in point with the obvious result taking months to resolve during a lengthy appeal process. Something can be done and the point is make her non husband pay for his sins.

If a helicopter swept down on the hospice and tried to remove her, I would imagine that Jeb Bush would take immediate action to retrieve Terri. And the Schindler would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law AFTER Terri is murdered. Some justice in the state of FL!!!!
To: Dave S
It's not really the "courts" that rule in favor of the estranged husband. It's one judge - George Greer - and the appelates have stood by him.
Remember, the husband's attorney petitioned the court early on for a non-jury trial. There is indication that collusion may be a factor in the case (
http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewCulture.asp?Page=/Culture/archive/200309/CUL20030917c.html). Finally, Judge Greer has not allowed simple swallow tests for Terri to determine if she could safely consume table food. It is rather obvious that strong bias exists.
Again, the second DCA has backed him and it's anyone guess why that it. But, in the grand scheme of things, the courts are not the ones sentancing Terri to death. It's Judge Greer.
