This can happen if a poster adds html somewhere in the past and then posts - for instance: blah blah certain blah blah... where the word ‘certain’ is surrounded with html like (carat strong carart) and (carat /strong carart).

The workaround seems to be that the poster must then supply his/her own p and /p at the beginning and end of paragraphs before posting.

Anyway thankfully you omitted:

But 'series' what bugs me, my #1, is FReepers who use 'alot'. There is no such word, it's two words: a lot.
There is the word 'allot', but that's something completely different.
