OK OK OK, I am *NOT* an atheist and in fact have some pretty particular theological points of view. For that reason this ceiling cat stuff impresseth me not. (Though I have a photo of a basement cat lolled out on the floor that, when turned upside down, looks like he is stuck to the ceiling.)

But it is my preference that theological tussles and opinion jabs really ought not to be initiated in News/Activism. It’s not much better for somebody to do it then when challenged draw the discussion off to some huge thread in Religion where all his minions can jump on you.

How about the endless variations of "I'm thinking of buying a gun - what sort of gun should I buy" threads?

Now I'm a big supporter of the Second Amendment and have no issue whatsoever with citizens owning firearms but for some reason, these threads remind me of high-school locker room talk where guys were always bragging on all the girls they slept with even though 95% of them were still virgins.

All of those could be solved with one thing- don’t look at what bugs you. If you don’t like blog pimps, don’t read them. If you don’t like ass kissing, ignore it.

Yeah, but that is sooooooooooooo 1999 / early 2000’s. We’re talking dial-up era.

Now, broadband is the future. In order to remain on the “Autobahn” that IS the Internet, you need a Lamborghini, NOT a Yugo.

With that being said, I would suggest that the powers-that-be here on FR move the site layout / format into the 2010 and beyond era. Put some of those donations toward upgrading the look / visual appeal / user friendliness / overall aesthetics of the site rather than having that $$$ go to archiving older posts / threads.

Just a thought and suggestion. Follow the innovators or get left behind.
