TOUR OF DUTY author and John Kerry historian Doug Brinkley is rushing a piece for the NEW YORKER: to set-the-record-straight on Kerry's Christmas in Cambodia tale, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
Kerry has turned to author Brinkley for a "modification" after it was exposed that Kerry was not in Cambodia during Christmas of 1968, as he once claimed from the Senate floor.
The Brinkley piece for the NEW YORKER will now say that Kerry was not in Cambodia during Christmas, but rather in January, publishing sources tell DRUDGE.
MORE
Since the early 1970s, Kerry has spoken and written of how he was illegally ordered to enter Cambodia. Kerry mentioned it in the floor of the Senate in 1986 when he charged that President Reagans actions in Central America were leading the U.S. in another Vietnam. Heres what he said as excerpted from the new book, UNFIT FOR COMMAND:
"I remember Christmas of 1968 sitting on a gunboat in Cambodia. I remember what it was like to be shot at by the Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge and Cambodians, and have the president of the United States telling the American people that I was not there; the troops were not in Cambodia. I have that memory which is seared--seared--in me."
John ONeils, author of UNFIT FOR COMMAND, comments on the clarification:
John Kerry describes Christmas Eve in Cambodia as a critical turning point in his life. We now know that his story is completely false. My question is how many people do you know have invented a turning point, one that is seared in his memory? While it makes sense for John Kerry to come clean about the Cambodia story, it is one of several tales that the Kerry campaign will have to face and clarify.
By claiming we were engaged in a war crime and crossing international borders, John Kerry damaged the credibility of all the commanding officers above him and insulted the sailors who served with him, said John ONeill, member of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.
Developing...
Let's see his 8mm film clip of the Cambodia adventure. We all know what a media hound this guy is.
(I should have added... ALL IN 4 MONTHS!)
If Kerry operatives read here, they will get a lot of ideas for new lies, LOL!
Late January, 1969 Kerry joined his 5 man crew on PCF-94
Peck was the OIC the PCF-94 on January 29 and was wounded along with Alston. Kerry took over PCF 94 after that. There is some question as to whether Alston was ever on the boat with Kerry, at least on PCF 94. I don't know when the days of hell were. They could have been during Peck's tenure.
Certain portions of this campaign are staged; but depict authenticated fact. (to the best we are able to ascertain)
Hey America This man is a BALD FACED LIAR Send to everyone.
Scambodia Liar THIS IS TOO RICH..!! Kerry received two secret Medals of Honor, a secret Croix de Guerre, and 6 more secret Purple Hearts. .... Yeah.. That's the ticket. "I'd tell you more but then I'd have to kill you". "Rambo eruptions!!!" "I hunted dove, quail, duck, deer in Cambodia. You clean them. Let them hang. It takes three or four birds to have a meal," said the Massachusetts senator. "I ate it on a picnic on The Mekong, cold roasted. I love dove." </sarcasm>. </sarcasm>.< /sarcasm>.
Collected and heard on the Freeper Street
One great disadvantage to the liberals with their near total control of the media, is that they have ceased all investigative reporting. They also believe their own lies.
Hence they will forever be surprised by these charlatans like Kerry, Gore and the evil Clintons.
What a guy.
Well, ya know went ya got, you got it. JFK thinks that he is part Kennedy (PT109) and part Fonzie.
Kerry made a common mistake, he doesn't celebrate Christmas and really the people that were shooting at him or 'shooting in cellebration' don't either.
Kerry and those Asians cellebrate TET in January.
When he came home, he had to start cellebrating Christmas so he would be like many other Americans so they would vote for him. He knew the voters wouldn't support a man who cellebrates TET, so he just replaced TET with Christmas in his memory.
I think hecklers should dog his campaign with signs and T-shirts with a variety of slogans using the word "SEARED".
Even simply the word SEARED would be enough.
All the Viet Nam era vets should claim they have the image of Kerry FALSELY SLURRING THEM IN THE SENATE SEARED IN THEIR MEMORIES.
There should be billboards in swing states with just the word SEARED on them and a small tag line: "If you don't know what SEARED means ask Hanoi Johnny"
These "wartime journals"...we're supposed to believe everything this prevaricator has written in them?
The man tells so many stories how can anyone be expected to trust a word of this?
Interestingly the current spot rep summary at John Kerry.com starts mid-February. How ever some had copied an earlier version starting Jan. 1 - still skimpy on January.
And begging the question: why he never posted a spot rep report for December
As for the Seals, it's not a big deal, his february record is full of drop offs in the delta.
Maybe this is the episode where he jumps the shark.
The bombing of Cambodia started on March 9, 1969, so it makes sense that there might have been some secret intelligence gathering missions into Cambodia prior to that.
Perhaps that was the subject of the meeting with Adm. Zumwalt on Jan 22, 1969.
It may turn out that he carried some CIA agent up the river who was on his way to Cambodia, and dropped him off 40-50 miles short of the border.
One way or the other, the truth will come out. If it turns out that Kerry and Brinkly are making up new lies to cover the old lies, then I think it will have a big negative impact on Kerry. On the other hand, if they do prove the Cambodia story, it will be used by the Kerry side to bash the SwiftVets for Truth guys into the ground.
So, how did he go on this secret mission to Cambodia in January if he didn't have a boat?
I wouldn't be surprised if he next claims to have been responsible for ending the Vietnam war.
Perfect!!!
The clock is tolling 13 O'clock for Kerry.
Yep.
Yeah, what about being shot at by South Vietnamese who were celebrating Christmas? I guess they must have been good Buddhists after all - celebrating the Chinese New Year.
