Video Shows Beheading of American in Iraq
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- A video posted Tuesday on an al-Qaida-linked Web site showed the beheading an American civilian in Iraq in what was said to be revenge for abuse of Iraqi prisoners.
The video showed five men wearing headscarves and black ski masks, standing over a bound man in an orange jumpsuit - similar to a prisoner's uniform. The man identified himself as Nick Berg, a U.S. civilian whose body was found Saturday near a highway overpass in Baghdad.
"My name is Nick Berg, my father's name is Michael, my mother's name is Suzanne," the man said on the video. "I have a brother and sister, David and Sarah. I live in ... Philadelphia."
After reading a statement, the men were seen pulling the man to his side and putting a large knife to his neck. A scream sounded as the men cut his head off, shouting "Allahu akbar!" - "God is great!" They then held the head up to the camera.
The slaying recalled the kidnapping and videotaped beheading of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in 2002 in Pakistan. Four Islamic militants have been convicted of kidnapping Pearl, but seven other suspects - including those who allegedly slit his throat - remain at large.

Thinking like an Islamist propagandist: A senator's guide to understanding
It has become apparent over the past few months that a high number of United States senators either do not understand how their words can be used against American soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines, or do not care that those words might be so used.
On the assumption that elected officials are not indifferent to the lives of the young men and women serving in uniform, let's try to think like an Islamist extremist, trying hard to encourage one or more of his younger charges to either participate in an attack against a heavily armored American position or to even become a suicide bomber.
A small number of rogue soldiers have handed you a tremendous propaganda gift in the photos of the abuse of Iraqi captives, especially those showing the humiliation of men by women.
But the American president has done a wise thing, appearing on Arab television and with the King of Jordan to denounce this outrage in the harshest terms. In fact, he may have even come close to turning the tide in some places by contrasting the American response to the abuse with the silence that shrouds far worse horrors in even the "moderate" Arab states. A clever man, Bush, though perhaps you suspect it is not cleverness but deep integrity that motivates the American president's condemnation.
Then Rumsfeld allows himself to be publicly hounded by partisan opponents, another stroke of genius in telegraphing to the Arab world what real democracy looks like. Again you sense the tide may have already turned on this issue, though of course who knows, but that the next batch of photos may allow you to fan the flames of hate for a brief time. But you despair that even the street is getting the picture that this is the very rare exception to the rule of American integrity.
But then you thank heaven for Sen. Carl Levin &endash; the senior Democrat on the Armed Services Committee who allows himself to speak on television, and your videotape machine captures it via the miracle of satellite television. What does this senior American political official confess to? Roll the tape for your young jihadists:
This is not just a few guards in some kind of aberrant conduct. This is a much more systemic problem here. And military intelligence, including I have to believe the CIA have got to be held accountable, right up the chain.
Play it a few more times. In fact, send a copy to the Arab networks in case they missed it, and then distribute it to the imams teaching the young. Play the Levin quote again and again. Assure that would be jihadists around the globe have many chances to hear an admission of guilt for the "systemic" torture and murder of innocent Muslims around the world at the hands of the CIA, for that is what a senior U.S. senator said. We have the proof. The prisoner scandal is not a story of a handful of criminals in uniform, it is the story of the entire American enterprise &endash; Sen. Carl Levin said so!
This is just one example of many from the past week, month and indeed year as partisan ambition has poisoned the minds of Democrats in the Senate. I can only imagine what the parents of servicemen from Michigan must think of their senior senator's smear of their sons and daughters, but give Carl Levin the credit he routinely takes for himself of being wise in the way of the military and nuanced in his thinking. He meant what he said, correct? He wouldn't lie and endanger Americans just for temporary political advantage, would he?
Carl Levin has not a shred of evidence that the prisoner abuse is evidence of systemic prisoner abuse. The accusation is slander of the worst sort, as shameful as Minnesota Democratic Sen. Mark Dayton's public descent into incoherence on Friday when he slandered Gen. Myers with the charge of "suppression" of the abuse story, and then rambled off into a bizarre rant about sending more tanks to Iraq, which would only engender more violence.
The Democratic Party has lost its way, saying the most outrageous things in hopes of scoring points, and doing so in a way that makes the charges ready-made propaganda for our enemies &endash; propaganda of the deadliest sort. If they have a shred of decency left, they will stop before they do more harm. Levin and Dayton cannot recall their harmful statements which will shame their careers forever, but at least they can stop adding more tape to the arsenal of poison already in the hands of our terrorist enemies.

"To prevail, America must defeat--thoroughly destroy--the enemy. On both fronts."
Kerry and Kennedy April 8, 2004
Of course, Teddy is not as svelte as Fonda, for he has never been an adept of fad diets, and an aerobics regimen could impair his precarious health. Nonetheless, Teddy is becoming the Fonda of our time. Possibly he will fly off to Falluja to be photographed on a burned out Humvee or visit Najaf to confer with the scowling Muslim cleric, the Rev. Muqtada al-Sadr. Having become so historically minded, Teddy goes on to call President Bush our era's Richard Nixon. Actually, for this man to encourage Americans to reflect back on 1960s history is quite reckless given his blemished history. They might come across news reports of a senator leaving a girl to drown in his car while he slept off a drunk and later dialing up his high-powered advisers for urgent public relations counsel. They might also find stories of that same senator later boozing with his young nephews before their carousals ended in a rape charge. Other indelicacies have followed. Yet, as the senator has brought up the always-illuminating guidance of history, it might help us to understand the present war by considering the wartime leadership of a Democrat whom Kennedy might admire, Franklin D. Roosevelt laboring through World War II. On second thought, Kennedy might not admire FDR's leadership against the Axis all that much. His father, Ambassador Joe Kennedy, opposed Roosevelt's entry into the war. The ambassador was virtually an isolationist. From our embassy in London, he collaborated with some of Europe's most slavish appeasers. In his repulsive Oct. 19, 1938, speech commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar, Kennedy gave an appeasement stem-winder that even troubled British supporters of the doomed Munich agreement. FDR believed his ambassador was in truth a Fascist sympathizer. Kennedy was at least an isolationist, and so it seems his son is today. It might prove rewarding for members of the Bush administration to review Roosevelt's brilliant treatment of the isolationists of his day. By the time Roosevelt was finished depicting the futility and irresponsibility of their antiwar rants, he had defeated the isolationists completely. His tactic was to characterize them as Hitler's dupes. As Roosevelt understood, by the late 1930s there was no alternative to defeating the Axis -- and there is no alternative to defeating the Islamofascists today. This is a point the president cannot make too frequently. Nor should he and his surrogates shy away from characterizing their Democratic opponents as dupes. They may not be dupes of any bellicose mullah or Middle Eastern tyrant, but they are surely dupes of what we might call the United Nations mystique. Watching Kennedy and the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Sen. John Francois Kerry, rhapsodize on the United Nations' capacity to resolve violence in the Middle East suggests images of Neville Chamberlain praising the Munich agreement after the Germans roared into Poland -- though even stubborn Chamberlain was not that besotted. The United Nations has already failed in Iraq. It does not want to be in Iraq. It is a corrupt collection of poseurs, many of whose functionaries have already been exposed as on the take from Saddam. While he was engaged in torture and aiding terrorists -- for instance, paying off suicide bombers in Israel -- these grafters and many Europeans were cashing in on the Iraq Oil for Food Program. There is only one course available in Iraq for civilized nations: resolve and rough treatment for any of the brutes who oppose pacification of the country. Kennedy's Vietnam parallel does not exist. The Iraqi resistance is supported at best only by the radical mullahs of Iran and the terrorists of Islamofascism. They cannot summon the communist protagonists of the Cold War from Moscow and Beijing. Moreover, they have no negotiators to go off to Paris and nothing to negotiate. President Bush's Jane Fonda is living in a fantasy, as is Kerry. The other day on National Public Radio, Kerry actually defended the Rev. Sadr, an outlaw accused of murdering another mullah, as a "legitimate voice" in Iraq. Then he backed off and said, "Well, let me ... change the term legitimate. It belongs to a voice -- because he has clearly taken on a far more radical tone in recent days and aligned himself with both Hamas and Hezbollah, which is a sort of terrorist alignment." Yes, it is, and his galoots have also killed a score of American soldiers. Kennedy and Kerry are not doing much to build the morale of our troops abroad, but then they played the same role 30 years ago during the Vietnam War. Now there is a historic parallel to meditate on.

These people are NOT human.I just saw the video of this. Disgusting.
I knew you wouldn't let me inadvertantly see the horrific video. But wow...I didn't know your brilliance would extend to this. You bring the prison abuses into perspective so clearly. You force me to refocus, to remember why President Bush's resolve is so important.
On the agony of those poor 9-11 souls, forced to leap into eternity. We need that reminder.
Everyone should view this. The media is suppressing it, though.I wonder, were the roles reversed, would they show an American doing this ?
I bet they would.
WHY ARE ALL TERRORISTS MUSLIM?
"Unless a man becomes the enemy of evil, he will not even become its slave, but rather its champion. God Himself will not help us to ignore evil but only to defy and to defeat it!" G. K. Chesterton.
In an outrageous attack upon Christian leaders facing the lie of Islam with the Word of God, the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) issued a public rebuke, sharply criticizing "derogatory statements" made by some evangelical leaders concerning Islam. The National Association of Evangelicals represents more than 43,000 congregations in the United States of America. Specifically, the NAE named Franklin Graham, Dr. Jerry Vines, and the Revs. Jerry Falwell, and Pat Robertson as chief culprits who must learn to temper their speech concerning Islam.
This is shocking! The NAE wants to take the one offensive weapon we Christians have in our arsenal, the Word of God, and replace it with - dialogue? That's right! The truth of God's Word is being replaced with tolerance, appeasement, common ground, reaching across the aisle, pragmatism, and negotiation. "Can't we all just get along?" Of course the answer is, "No! Not when God's Word is the standard."
To be sure, God's Word is confrontational, dividing, judgmental, and absolute, yet it is filled with mercy. Islam, on the other hand, is all of the above, yet it is filled with violence and murder. There is no common ground between these two religions. Islam and Christianity are at war! Neither will tolerate the other.
Unfazed by planes crashing into buildings killing thousands, suicide bombings of countless innocent human beings, mass slaughter of millions of Christians in the Sudan, and violence of unprecedented order, the NAE now wants us to dialogue with the Christ hating false religion of Islam. This spiritually emasculated organization, is espousing that we hide in caves so that we won't be killed by Muslims living out their faith in the streets of our cities. Living out their faith?
The NAE's solution to stop the merciless bloodletting of Islam is to draft guidelines and begin an interfaith dialogue with Islamic leaders. What utter nonsense! Somehow the president of the National Association of Evangelicals, Rev. Ted Haggard, has convinced himself and several others of the good faith of his Islamic counterparts. Haggard is championing the lie of Islam without realizing what it is that he and the NAE are doing.
Ask a simple question, "Why are all terrorists Muslim?" You doubt the premise of the question? Let's just take a look:
What do all of these recorded instances of sheer violence and evil have in common? Islam! Why are all these terrorists Muslim? Their false and murderous religion demands them to be so. There is no escaping the link between terrorism and the Islamic faith. Islam is a lie birthed in the very pit of hell that must be defeated before it destroys everyone who will not bow the knee to Allah and his lying prophet Mohammed.
Islam must be annihilated, completely. It must be exposed for the lie that it is. Allah is not God and Mohammed is not a prophet of God. Jesus is God, and apart from Him there is no other. Jesus is not tolerant of any other God than Himself, for there is no other God but Him! For the NAE to say anything less is to betray the God of the Holy Scriptures and the 43,000 congregations it represents.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), upon hearing the NAE's appeasing statement said, "We can understand theological differences, but what's important is that the dialogue is one of respect, not demonization." Dialogue? Sure, Rev. Haggard, you won the accolades of Islam, but you are suffering under the condemnation of heaven. There is nothing Islam would rather do than to dialogue with you while it continues its murderous onslaught. The Word of God demonizes Islam, not Franklin Graham or any of the others.
For the NAE to take its cues from CAIR, a front organization for Islamic terrorism, is absurd. CAIR is the organization that came up with the politically correct idea that America should no longer be considered a "Judeo-Christian" nation. Why? Because it is offensive to Muslims living in America. Please! CAIR is that "gentle" organization that coined the endearing term "Islamophobia," and is presently suing American Airlines for wrongfully profiling "middle eastern" looking men.
Wrongfully profiling? One doesn't have to look too long at the statistics to realize that 98.7% of all hijackings from 1970 to this day were done by "middle eastern" looking men who were all (100% of them) Muslim terrorists. CAIR says it's just not fair to be demonized by the Word of God. Too bad! Unfortunately the NAE wants to jump on that "politically correct" ship that is going to sink into eternal damnation.
We have three choices in dealing with Islam. We will either be killed by those holding to its murderous tenets, kill them (like we are doing in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc.), or convert them to Christ. Which one do you choose?
