Obama amputates our nuclear arms

Under President Obama’s new policy, however, if the state that has just attacked us with biological or chemical weapons is “in compliance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty,” explained Gates, then “the U.S. pledges not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against it.”
Imagine the scenario: Hundreds of thousands are lying dead in the streets of Boston after a massive anthrax or nerve gas attack. The president immediately calls in the lawyers to determine whether the attacking state is in compliance with the NPT. If it turns out that the attacker is up-to-date with its latest IAEA inspections, well, it gets immunity from nuclear retaliation. (Our response is then restricted to bullets, bombs and other conventional munitions.)
However, if the lawyers tell the president that the attacking state is NPT noncompliant, we are free to blow the bastards to nuclear kingdom come.
This is quite insane. It’s like saying that if a terrorist deliberately uses his car to mow down a hundred people waiting at a bus stop, the decision as to whether he gets hanged or 100 hours of community service hinges entirely on whether his car had passed emissions inspections.
Apart from being morally bizarre, the Obama policy is strategically loopy. Does anyone believe that North Korea or Iran will be more persuaded to abjure nuclear weapons because they could then carry out a biological or chemical attack on the United States without fear of nuclear retaliation?
The naivete is stunning.

Individual shot during altercation at MacDill

5/19/2010 - MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. (AFNS) — MacDill Air Force Base security forces were alerted to an alleged altercation at approximately 6 p.m. May 19 at the base family camp.
Security forces members responded to the situation, and one of the individuals involved in the altercation fled from the scene on his motorcycle at high speeds.
Security forces Airmen attempted to stop the individual; however, he evaded pursuit and proceeded to one of the base gates. At the gate, he was engaged by law enforcement officials and was shot. Medical crews and investigators responded. No other individuals were injured. The identity of the suspect has not be released.
At this time, there is no indication this act was linked to any sort of terrorist activity.
“Our security forces personnel acted promptly to safeguard the base and its personnel,” said Col. Larry Martin, the 6th Air Mobility Wing commander. “We appreciate the quick and professional cooperation from local law enforcement and fire responders. The incident is under investigation and as more information is available, it will be released.”

Rio Tinto’s computer network was attacked by hackers around the time of Stern Hu’s arrest, the ABC’s Four Corners program has revealed.
Rio Tinto declined to comment on the incident, but former Rio employees and a senior government source have confirmed the company’s Singapore office was taken off-line for three days to upgrade its security.
Senior mining executives also told the program that fellow mining giant, Fortescue Metals, was targeted by cyber attackers.

Unless the agent already had his gun in hand and was at least semi expecting the attack, OR unless the attacker started his move from more than 21 feet away the Tueller Drill says it’s not possible for this to have happened the way described under normal circumstances. Under the Tueller scenario, the attacker moving from 21 feet away can cover the distance in a second and a half and stab his victim before the defender can draw and engage and even then, he should be forced to move out of the path of the attack while still engaging. So to my mind, this stinks of setup.<<<<

You do not often here of the FBI man picking up a few extra dollars as a guard, but the local cops in most cities do.
The off duty FBI, might have been intending to shop at the base stores and save money, maybe as simple as picking up a prescription for a sick child.
If he had to check his gun [?] , he would have had it in hand, and been at the right spot at the right time.
Any cop, caught in a gate situation, will have his gun drawn.
One city that I listen to the scanner on, had their officers on double alert last night, while a 100 miles away, they were not the least worried for officer safety.
At the least, there is an alert out for contracts on the police, with the gangs hired to do the killing.

Due to some of the drugs being used today, the urge to kill is very strong.
Several times a night, even in my small town, the officers have to deal with someone who just wants to kill.
I have listened to reports of them “walking down the street and cutting passersby.”
More interesting would be, to find who had invited him on base and what the first fight was about.

Our task force helped put 10 members of the West Side Street Mobb gang behind bars.
A young woman who was severely beaten by a Seattle gang member in his efforts to control her and to keep her making money for him through prostitution finally had enough—she reported the crime to local authorities.
That’s how our Pacific Northwest Innocence Lost Task Force got involved. From that initial complaint late in 2008, some 20 victims of sex trafficking—five of them juveniles—were rescued, and 10 members of the West Side Street Mobb gang are now behind bars.
“As a result of this case,” said Special Agent Colleen Sanders, “the gang has basically been dismantled.” And recently, 19-year-old pimp DeShawn “Cash Money” Clark—responsible for the brutal beating that sparked the larger investigation—received a 17-year sentence and was the first person to be convicted in Washington state of a relatively new human trafficking law.

“This case illustrates the ongoing national problem of sex trafficking of juveniles,” said Sanders, the task force coordinator who works out of our Seattle office. “It also illustrates the success of the task force approach in bringing local, state, and federal agencies together to help get these young victims off the street.”

A school bus accident on Ft. Carson sent several students to the hospital Thursday afternoon. It happened around 12:35 p.m. near gate two.
Students from Mountain Side Elementary school were returning from a field trip, when school officials say a car made a u-turn and hit the front of the bus. Nine students and the bus driver were taken to Evans hospital at Ft. Carson as a precaution. Dave Roudebush, a spokesperson for the Fountain Ft. Carson school district says there were no life threatening injuries.
