I just wanted to let everyone to know that I'm not going to be around this weekend. I'm taking a break from EVERYTHING - studying (yes, I still have to study - phase 2 of the exams is in a little over a week), working, computers (um...well, I *might* be online for a bit to check email and say hi, but I really don't want to worry about email because that usually has something to do with work). So I'll be leaving for the not-so-hot northern part of IL as soon as I finish packing and I'll be back sometime on Sunday night. See you all later. :-)

Two weeks in Beijing, and two weeks in Shanghai.
And yes, I ate the authentic fare....a lot of seafood, as it is very inexpensive compared to here.

I was in Beijing back in December.

Stayed at the Gloria Plaza Hotel. The new Beijing and Guangzhou airports are impressive.

Were you there when Guangzhou flooded? A friend sent me a picture of two girls I met there who own a store on Shaimen Island, near the White Swan Hotel. The water was up to their knees as they stood in the street.
