Good evening everyone. Thanks for the kind words! With permission from my mom, here is the text of an email update she sent about my grandma:

"Praise the Lord, your Grandma is still with us as of 4:15 this afternoon. Last night as you know [she] was returned via ambulance to the hospital. The Doctor ordered an ultrasound of her leg which revealed a blood clot. A piece of the clot broke off and traveled to her lung which made her breathing extremely difficult. The Doctor did not give us any encouragement at all because most times when a clot goes to the lung, the person dies.

But God must have other plans for her because when I returned to the hospital this morning, she appears to be much improved. Her color is better, she is not on oxygen anymore, her blood pressure which was 220/159 is sort of low now (but they don't seem to be real worried about that). She can talk easy and she is hungry which she definitely wasn't yesterday.

I was very tired early this afternoon so I asked Mom if she was okay with me going home to rest. She said "You need a nap, you go", "I hope I will be alright". So I came home and am enjoying the peace and quiet of my own house."

She is doing better, and her doctor hopes to resume chemotherapy treatments after the blood clot has been treated. Thank you so much. You FReepers are a great bunch of good old-fashioned, decent human beings.

Howdy kids. How's everyone been? School's done for now. Work is still being an asskicker.

But, I miss the thread. I've been on other threads, but only because I needed to vent my spleen or explode. As it is, I've been airing out sleeping bags, my tent, reloading my ammo, and basically making sure my "Get the f*ck out of Dodge" gear is current and ready to go.

The way things are going out there, something is going to pop. Some of those Coal Mine canaries have gotta be getting thing on oxygen.

When I was pregnant, I was sick for the first 5 months. Wasn't just in the morning, either: and it was hard to predict what would set me off.

Doctor was yelling at me because I was LOOSING weight.

I craved egg-drop soup, bagels and lox, and tuna sandwiches.

Eventually the sickness stopped, and the doctor yelled because I put on too much weight, too fast.

Blech. My best friend in Oklahoma gets horribly sick for months, too. Very difficult. I don't think we'd have all these kids if I was really sick in pregnancy!
