Lebanese Armenians wave a giant flag during a rally outside the Turkish embassy in the capital Beirut on April 23, 2016, to commemorate the 101th anniversary of the mass killings of Armenians under the Ottoman Empire in 1915.

It is 101 years since Turkey’s Ottoman government began arresting minority community leaders and setting in motion a campaign of systematic slaughter that had left 1.5 million Christian Armenians dead by the early 1920s.

Lebanon’s Armenians marked on Sunday the 101 anniversary of when some 250 Armenian intellectuals were rounded up by Ottoman Turks as the first step of the genocide against them.

A demonstration that started at the Antelias Square ended at the town’s main highway and marked the genocide that was committed against the Armenians.

About 20 countries have recognized it as genocide , but Turkey rejects the claims,

Obama and the DIMS would love to take the same approach with Conservatives/Christians/Jews.

The glitch in that plan is that we’ve been arming for 7+ years.

BTTT - the world must reject Erdokan and the pan-Islamic movement and recognize the terrible state-sponsored Armenian genocide.

Absolutely. In all the so called bullying of Muslims that Obama talks about, he never brings up the Armenian Genocide, which was 100 years ago, but you cannot stop him from bringing up the Crusades that were 1000 years ago.

St. Nicholas church in Rome is the local church for Armenians. The basement has tables and chairs for meals. The walls of the basement have framed black and white photos from the Armenian genocide. A slow walk around the basement at St. Nicholas makes a person feel very sad and very angry. Why did so many have to die? Why did not one stop this? Brutal. The photos are just brutal.

Why did so many have to die?

You do realize that a bit north of there at that time the Europeans were in the process of killing each other at the rate of 10,000 men per day, do you not?

You LIKE the idea of Turkish muslims slaughtering over a million Armenian Christians, raping little boys, crucifying rows of little girls on crosses, torturing and beheading the heads of the Armenian Orthodex Church ?

You probably also see elephants flying around outside your window.

As it turns out, the Allies did invade Turkey in 1915.

At a place called Gallipoli.

Got their heads handed to them.

The secular Turkey created by Kemal Ataturk is rapidly reverting to the supremacist Islamic state of affairs under the Ottoman Empire.

Expect Turkish intransigence against the West to accelerate & expand under their new Sultan Erdogan.

The Armenian Genocide will have to go on being commemorated anywhere in the world but in the place where it happened. Yes, European men were slaughtering each other at a fearful rate in 1915. But the Armenian horror inflicted by the Turks seemed mostly directed at females especially young ones.

Islam is the same no matter where it is applied, is it not?

Islam - “As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be ...”.

The truly dreadful aspect of the situation is that as a member of NATO, if Sultan Erdogan pushes the Russians too far, and gets into a war with them, he’ll demand the rest of NATO to join on his side.

Turkey has been kept out of the European economic community during the entire post WWII era.

Could it be because...they don’t act very Western or European?

As a NATO member Turkey has always been at dagger’s point with Greece, and Erdogan wants to scrap its peace treaty with Israel. And reopen Hagia Sophia as a mosque.

He jokingly refers to Islam in Turkey as “Shariah Lite”.
