St. Paul church pushes to recognize Armenian genocide

Pope Francis and Kim Kardashian made headlines recently by calling attention to what happened to the Armenian people 100 years ago. It was genocide at the hands of the Turks in what was then the Ottoman Empire, according to the pope, the reality show star and many historians. In Minnesota, the push to recognize the deaths of Armenians a century ago as the first genocide of the 20th century is being led by a small, new St. Paul church. In the past month, St. Sahag Armenian Church has put up billboards on Interstate 94 in St. Paul and Interstate 494 in Bloomington calling for remembrance of the Armenian genocide. It has distributed car decals with forget-me-not flower logos. And it is sponsoring commemorative events, including an ecumenical prayer service Saturday at the Cathedral of St. Paul "dedicated to the 1.5 million newly canonized martyr-saints of the Armenian Genocide and to all the martyrs of faith, including those in the Middle East today." The efforts are part of a decades-old struggle for Armenians for recognition of what they characterize as a crime against humanity. According to the University of Minnesota's Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies: "The Armenian Genocide was the Ottoman government's centrally planned and systematic murder of its minority Armenian subjects between the years 1915 and 1918. The great bulk of the Armenian population was forcibly removed from Armenia and Anatolia to Syria, where the vast majority was sent into the desert to die of thirst and hunger. The total number of people killed has been estimated at between 1 million and 1.5 million."

I wonder if the church and its members will not be targeted by Obama’s weaponized agencies like the IRS, the EPA, and any other regulatory agency that can be used to defend the Turkish Muslim terrorists and suppress Armenian Christians?

“Pope Francis and Kim Kardashian”

Name two people whose names should never appear in the same sentence.
