We’ve got to hold on to hope, and we’ve got to fight hard because Congressional action tonight just put America on a path toward an unrecognizable country.

... Buried in Nancy Pelosi's health-care bill is a provision that will partially repeal tax indexing for inflation, meaning that as their earnings rise over a lifetime these youngsters can look forward to paying higher rates even if their income gains aren't real. In order to raise enough money to make their plan look like it won't add to the deficit, House Democrats have deliberately not indexed two main tax features of their plan: the $500,000 threshold for the 5.4-percentage-point income tax surcharge; and the payroll level at which small businesses must pay a new 8% tax penalty for not...

Priest Arrested with 11 Pro-lifers at Nancy Pelosi's Office... They RIPPED UP the bill! Read story, and see video belowVideo Link On Thursday Afternoon, November 5, 2009, Father Norman Weslin - a living pro-life legend - and 11 other pro-lifers were arrested at Nancy Pelosi's office at #235 Cannon office building. If only all Catholic Priests and protestant preachers had the courage of Father Weslin!!! We would have ended child-killing long ago! They entered her office, with two complete copies of the bill - all 2,000 pages (4,000 total!) - and proceeded to rip it up, page by page,...

How can a political party lose 2 governorships and claim it a victory? How can a political party win a single district in N.Y. while losing two states that voted for its leader a year ago and still claim victory? How can a House Speaker claim a victory and more votes for her health care scam, when the winner is a conservative blue-dog Democrat who is against the public-option? Nancy Pelosi, the Queen of Botox, made these asinine claims today after her party had their donkey asses kicked during the Tuesday night elections. Pelosi claimed: “From our perspective, we won...

Every American should watch what Pelosi allows or does not allow to all of the Americans who are seeking to peacefully present their concerns during the “house call” on the Capitol tomorrow.

It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress. -Mark Twain On the eve of becoming the first female Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, Democrat, squawked the following aspersions on the truth: * She intended to run the most honest, the most open, and the most ethical Congress in history. * She is ready to lead with Republicans, not in partisanship. * In this House, we may belong to different parties, but we serve one country. We stand united in our pride and prayers for our men and...

A few weeks ago, on a Thursday around noon, Nancy Pelosi whirls through the second floor of the Capitol in a sea-foam pantsuit with lots of gold jangling on her arms. The Speaker of the House, the highest-ranking woman in government and third in line to the president, is about to walk the pink-painted halls of her private chambers to another series of closed-door meetings with the Democratic caucus about the health-care bill. Today, she’s set up a powwow of progressives in one of her conference rooms, and another for the Blue Dogs down the hall, but first she has...

I wanted to make sure you saw this video of Pelosi using the Capitol Police to man a barricade to close her health care event to the public and any Republican in Congress. If they won't even let you attend the event where they announce their health care plan, imagine how little freedom you would have over your health care decisions if their plan passes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-P-lRoquGY

I was writing a long post for another forum yesterday (re: the $2.2M/word healthcare bill Ms. Pelosi and her band of idiots has put forth) when it occured to me: I express my thoughts much better in art than words. So here is what I was thinking yesterday, expressed via photoshop. Feel free to plaster it across the web. No Commerical use, please, w/o contacting me thru this forum.

Here is video of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unveiling her House Health Care Bill that contains a "Public Option" at an event held today. The bill is called the "Affordable Health Care Act for America," and would result in a Government-run Health Care option. Interestingly, Pelosi's unveiling took place outside the U.S. Capitol but was an event that was not open to the public, even though it took place in a public place to reveal a "Public Option." You can see what happened when someone tried to attend the event in the video below . . . (VIDEOS)

Rep. Bart Stupak said Speaker Pelosi is not pleased with his effort to change abortion-related provisions in the healthcare bill being crafted by the House. During an interview on C-SPAN's "Washington Journal" show, Stupak (D-Mich.) said he is undeterred in trying to ensure that taxpayer dollars do not pay for abortions. Stupak, who opposes abortion rights, acknowledged that some in his party are upset with his public campaign to change the bill. "The Speaker is not happy with me," Stupak said. The Energy and Commerce subcommittee chairman said he has been working with Democratic leaders on a compromise, but they...

Grayson: “You know…FOX News and their Republican collaborators are the enemy of America. They’re the enemy of anybody who cares about health care in this country, the enemy of anybody who cares about educating their children, the enemy of everybody who wants energy independence, anything … good for this country. And they’re certainly the enemy of peace, there’s no doubt about that. They ARE the enemy.”I’ve seen people like Alan Grayson, the Democratic Representative from Florida’s 8th Congressional District, before. For example, I once attended an event held by Michigan Congressman John Conyers in the southern, suburban, part of his...

PRESIDENT OBAMA: "First of all, I don't think people quite understand, Nancy Pelosi is not simply the first woman Speaker of the House -- I think she's going to go down as one of the greatest Speakers of all time. And she's very nice and she's very friendly, but, boy, she is tough."

Yesterday, with great fanfare Nancy Pelosi suggested that public option of the Obamacare bill is doing poorly because of its name, and that it may be more attractive to skeptics if it goes by a different title. She was speaking at an appearance at a Florida senior center with Florida Rep Debbie Wasserman Schultz and suggested that a better name would be "the consumer option." Schultz, suggested the term "competitive option." The speaker said the "competitive option" idea emerged during her closed-door roundtable at the Sunrise Senior Center with advocates of seniors and others who work with older populations. Wasserman...

At the start of each new Congress, the entire House of Representatives and one-third of the Senate are sworn into office. The current oath was fashioned in the 1860s, by Civil War-era members of Congress. I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told a caucus of her members on Tuesday night that she's only eight votes short of passing a health care bill that includes a "robust public option." She expressed confidence a bill would pass the House in the near future. Not so fast. Moderate Blue Dog Democrats say they are increasingly nervous about voting on a bill before knowing exactly what the Senate would be willing to pass -- a fear exacerbated by yesterday's vote in which 12 Senate Democrats and Independent Joe Lieberman voted with Republicans against a budget-busting plan to adjust Medicare reimbursements for...

Earth: An environmental writer mainstreams an idea floating around the green fringe — save the earth by population control and give carbon credits to one-child families. Are we threatened by the patter of little carbon footprints? New York Times environmental writer Andrew Revkin participated in an Oct. 14 panel discussion on climate change with other media pundits titled "Covering Climate: What's Population Got To Do With It?" People who need people they are not. In a recently rediscovered book, "Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment," co-authored with Malthus fans Paul and Anne Ehrlich, Holdren wrote that families "contribute to general social deterioration...

'Hate' Crimes: The House has voted to make it a federal crime to assault people because of their sexual orientation. Aside from violating the Constitution's equal-protection clause, just what does this have to do with national defense? The House voted 281 to 146 Thursday to make it a crime to attack homosexuals and others. The measure was attached to a must-pass $680 billion defense bill. We think the amendment itself is a crime against common sense and the law. Saying "it's a very exciting day for us here in the Capitol," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi praised the passage of the...

Here is video of Nancy Pelosi today reminding all Americans - just in case we forgot - that she is the "first woman Speaker of the House." "I'm in my place," she said, as she reacted to GOP critics who said Gen. Stanley McChrystal should "put her in her place," as a result of her comments slamming Gen. McChrystal over his London response to a question about Strategy in Afghanistan. Pelosi said:"That language is something I haven't even heard in decades." "I'm in my place. Earlier this week the National Republican Congressional Committee released a statement on Nancy Pelosi's sudden departure from her insistence that the war in Afghanistan was the "real central front" in the war on terror: "If Nancy Pelosi’s failed economic policies are any indicator of the effect she may have on Afghanistan, taxpayers can only hope McChrystal is able to put her in her place." Nancy Pelosi and her fellow democrats responded like, well... liberals. They ignored the facts and made an emotional appeal. They ignored the first part of the statement, and played up the meaningless ending. In short, Pelosi...

Here is video of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on the Charlie Rose Show slamming Gen. Stanley McChrystal "with all due respect." Pelosi praised the proposed strategy for Afghanistan being put forward by Vice-President Joe Biden as one that "has currency" among the American people and members of Congress. She then said Gen. McChrystal should be giving advice to the President "through the chain of command," not "in press conferences." She was slamming comments made by McChrystal during a Q & A session in London following a speech he gave there last week. McChrystal never mentioned Biden's name, but was asked...

War Strategy: When Bush and Petraeus proposed the surge in Iraq, Democrats demanded that the general testify before Congress. So why has the Senate blocked a similar invitation to our commander in Afghanistan? Those with memories longer than the 24-hour news cycle recall that in the dark days of the Iraq War, David Petraeus was summoned to Washington to explain the surge strategy that would eventually lead to victory in Iraq. Democrats hoped for a show trial. MoveOn.org took out a full-page ad in the New York Times labeling the commanding general of our efforts in Iraq "General Betray-us." Then...

Politico reports the Dems are outrageously outraged over an NRCC statement urging McChrystal to put Nancy Pelosi "in her place" for weighing in on Afghanistan: "If Nancy Pelosi’s failed economic policies are any indicator of the effect she may have on Afghanistan, taxpayers can only hope McChrystal is able to put her in her place." Debbie Wasserman Schultz then goes on a tirade in response: "I think the place for a woman is at the top of the House of Representatives," said Wasserman Schultz. "It's evidence they long for the days when a woman's place was in the kitchen. Now...

The National Republican Congressional Committee is urging Gen. Stanley McCrystal to put House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "in her place" for weighing in on Afghanistan -- prompting one female Pelosi ally to blast the House GOP as "80 percent male," "100 percent white" -- and completely out of touch. On Monday night, Pelosi told Charlie Rose "should go up the line of command" instead of publicly opining on strategy -- prompting a swift, sneering reaction from the GOP committee. Mocking the first female speaker as "General Pelosi," an NRCC spokesman wrote, "If Nancy Pelosi’s failed economic policies are any indicator of...

Lots of people are throwing around some terms that they do not understand. Speaker Pelosi recently implied that Tea Party protesters were “Nazis”. Someone should explain to her that the millions who gathered in Washington, DC were protesting the greatly stepped-up intrusion of government into their lives and the huge debt the Democrats are placing on the backs of their children. This is exactly the opposite of Nazism. Given the actions of the goons from SEIU, ACORN and the Black Panthers in Philadelphia, if anyone deserves the title of Nazis, it is the liberal Democrats she represents.

IT'S A RIOT: Young members of anarchist groups hold violent demonstrations during Friday's G-20 finance meetings in Pittsburgh. Politics: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi berated town hall and tea party protesters this month, tearfully warning they'd incite violence. Well, there's been violence all right, at Pittsburgh's G-20. But it wasn't the tea partiers. It takes gall to characterize ordinary Americans, freely exercising their rights of speech and assembly in civic forums, as "mobs" while ignoring a pack of leftist thugs now smashing a U.S. city. But that's what Pelosi did, directing her righteous tocsin to the Norman Rockwell-like gatherings of Americans...

Policymaking: If the stimulus isn't working, perhaps it's because it was largely written by a collection of leftist interest groups called the Apollo Alliance that counts among its directors a co-founder of the Weather Underground. The Labor Department reported Friday that 42 states lost more jobs than they gained in August, and that 14 plus Washington, D.C., reported unemployment rates of 10% or more. Here is video of Glenn Beck today responding to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's "Tears of Fear" statement yesterday. He responded to her with a glass of milk, a twinkie, and a glass of koolaid. The milk was because it was Harvey Milk in San Francisco who was murdered - that Nancy Pelosi was referring to. He was murdered by a Democrat whose defense was the "twinkie defense" - saying he was out of his mind on a sugar high. The Koolaid was to represent those who followed Jim Jones to their death at around the same time. It was also...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday said she worries that the protests of President Obama's health-care legislation may be of a similar nature to anti-gay rhetoric in the late 1970s in San Francisco, which culminated in the assassinations of two of her home town's political leaders. Pelosi, responding to a question about anti-Obama sentiment, said that partisans on all sides of an issue have the right to voice their opinion. But after pausing, she added: "I have concerns about some of the language that is being used, because I saw this myself in the late '70s in San Francisco....

“I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw … I saw this myself in the late '70s in San Francisco,” Pelosi said, choking up and with tears forming in her eyes. “This kind of rhetoric is just, is really frightening and it created a climate in which we, violence took place and … I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made.”

In attempts to distance herself from the plethora of ACORN scandals that have been leaked to the press recently, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had the following to say regarding the legislative action taken against the group: "I don't even know what they passed," Pelosi told The Post yesterday. "What did they do? They defunded it?" Really? I thought you worked there...When your the Speaker of the House and the best option you can come up with to confront an organization like ACORN is to play dumb, you've got a lot of explaining to do. Over the past eight years, I’ve heard Democrat activists and many of their Washington leaders yell an unending and ferocious tirade of curses and accusations at Republicans, at all Republicans. And as tasteless, wrongheaded and false as those tirades were, I would never dream of trying to stifle honest opposition. No Republican would. What’s even more outrageous is that Congressman Wilson’s comment that President Barack Obama is a liar (which, based on both the Senate version at the time, as well as a proper reading of the House version, was a fair statement) pails in comparison to statements by Senator...

This editorial from Investor's Business Daily is worth the read. And, this part is worth a fleeting note: Part of it has to do with Reid's rise to Senate minority leader and then majority leader in 2006. His constituents increasingly feel left behind. Sherman Frederick, publisher of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, wrote in 2006: " 'Sen. Reid;s undoing came early in his last term when he became a big shot in the Democratic Party and quickly morphed into someone Nevada voters did not recognize - his political girlfreind in the House, uber-liberal Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California.' "

At this point in the game it might be a little premature to engage in a few what-ifs in the event a health care reform bill ("ObamaCare")containing a public option is rammed through the Congress in some fashion. My guess at this point is that two differing bills -- the House's version having a public option and the Senate's not -- will have to be reconciled in conference committee, which will be Nancy Pelosi's, Harry Reid's and Barack Obama's best chance to insert a stealth version of it back into a final version. Should that occur, and I don't see...

Politics: The senator who called the president a liar and never apologized may have worn out his welcome in his home state. Harry Reid may be riding the liberal agenda into political oblivion. In 2004, Republicans defeated Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle largely on the theme that he neglected his home state in favor of national party interests. The GOP is hoping that in 2010 lightning will strike a second time, and Nevada polls indicate it may be more than wishful thinking. In 1998, Reid beat John Ensign by a hair-thin 428 votes. Ensign would go on to win Nevada's other...

The single most damning story about President Obama so far is one we know courtesy of his national security adviser, Jim Jones. Visiting the newly installed military commanders in Afghanistan in late June, Jones told General Stanley McChrystal that if he requested more troops any time soon, Obama would have a "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" (i.e., "What the f--") moment. Jones then, in an interview, made the claim--denied by everyone else involved--that military leaders had agreed that when the president earlier sent 21,000 troops to Afghanistan, "there would be a year from the time the decision was made before they would...
