At least common thieves don't destroy an entire health care system and socialize the American economy when they commit their felonies. Too bad we can't say the same for our illustrious Democratic senators who sold out the nation. In exchange for criminally unconstitutional favors for their respective states, they voted to pass the Senate health care bill just 38 hours after it had been made available to the public for review. Everyone knows about Sen. Mary Landrieu's negotiating $300 million for her state in non-guaranteed Medicaid payouts. She was even cocky about her institutionalized larceny. Sen. Bernie Sanders finagled $10...

The White House -- as we wrote yesterday -- is dead set on passing the health care bill and will stop at nothing politically to get it done. But, new data in the NBC/WSJ poll suggests that simply passing a bill -- whatever is in it -- won't solve Democrats' political problems on health care. Two data points stand out: * Just 32 percent of of the sample said that President Obama's plan is a good idea while 47 percent said is a bad idea. Public opinion on that question had eroded even since October when 38 percent thought passing...

Nancy Pelosi: "Thank God" Senate Bill Funds Abortions Washington, DC -- In yet another comment that will draw guffaws from pro-life advocates, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is thankful to God that the Senate bill include massive abortion funding. Pelosi also claims she has enough votes to pass a pro-abortion health care bill in the House, though that is disputed. http://www.LifeNews.com/nat5781.html

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made runner-up as Time Magazine's person of the year, losing out to Fed chairman Ben Bernanke. In a glowing profile, Time says Pelosi has "consolidated more power than any other Speaker in modern history." In an interview with reporters in the Capitol today, Pelosi outlined what is in fact an astonishingly long list of accomplishments this year, from a hair-raising bank rescue to the largest fiscal stimulus in U.S. history, to a climate change bill to health care legislation and millions of acres of wilderness, food safety, labor legislation and other major bills that have gotten...

Speaker Pelosi named finalist for Time magazine 'Person of the Year' By Jordan Fabian - 12/14/09 05:21 PM ET House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is among the seven finalists chosen for Time magazine's annual "Person of the Year," according to media reports on Monday. Other finalists in the realm of politics include last year's winner President Barack Obama, Afghanistan commanding Gen. Stanley McChrystal and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke. "Look, she's the first woman Speaker of the House. She's the strongest Speaker of the House in decades," Time managing editor Richard Stengel said of Pelosi on NBC's "Today" show. "She...

The entire Democratic caucus in DC must be suffering the effects of swine flu, because their ideas for health care reform just keep getting worse. In the latest deal, brokered by Senate Democrats, Medicare would be expanded to uninsured Americans over the age of 55 and insurance companies would be required to spend 90 percent of the money they collect on beneficiaries. While both of these provisions sound great to a bleeding heart, the unintended consequences could prove devastating.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi gave her strongest endorsement yet of a global financial transaction fee Thursday after raising the issue directly with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner in a conversation this week. Geithner was widely seen as opposing such a levy when it was proposed by Gordon Brown, the British prime minister, at a meeting of G-20 finance ministers last month in Scotland. But after their phone conversation Wednesday, Pelosi told colleagues that the secretary indicated he was more open to some such fee than had been reported. Pelosi didn’t reveal her conversation with Geithner at her weekly press conference Thursday, but...

Nancy Pelosi marched with known pedophiles in a Gay Pride Parade in San Francisco. One was gay rights activist Harry Hay. Hay was a pedophile and a member of NAMBLA (the North American Man Boy Love Association). Apparently, it is common practice in San Francisco to look the other way when gay men openly advocate pedophilia. Nancy Pelosi follows suit and does so herself. (excerpt) "When Nancy Met Harry" By Jeffrey Lord on 10.5.06 @ 12:08AM The Pride Parade. That's what it's called in San Francisco when the community gathers for a parade during the annual San Francisco Lesbian Gay...

... Question: But given that Bob Bauer was willing to risk his license to practice law by tricking the court into taking judicial notice of misleading facts that, at best, could only establish Barack Obama was a “native” born citizen, anyway, and which notice he would have to message in order to dupe Americans into believing this meant, his client was also Constitutionally qualified for POTUS; why was he unwilling to risk his license on Nancy Pelosi’s Certifications, which explicitly stated, his client was Constitutionally qualified for the job of POTUS, judicial notice of which fact the court likely would...

Remember it for your grandchildren: Saturday, November 21, 2009—the day of the Transformation of America. That’s the day Global Marxism will begin its inexorable march to take down the Free World, starting with its leader the United States of America. There will be no shots fired, but the aim of the U.S. Senate’s poison arrow is right on target at the heart of humanity. While America’s Marxist President is abroad, Senate Majority House Leader Harry Reid is tying the red ribbon bow on his Christmas present, the Transformation, and Take Down of the United States of America. “Senate Majority...

Reform: Only a Bernie Madoff could believe the Senate's health care bill will extend coverage to 31 million Americans while cutting deficits by $127 billion over 10 years. It would be the first profitable entitlement. But that's what Majority Leader Harry Reid, citing Congressional Budget Office estimates, tells us the 2,074-page bill — said to cost only $849 billion over a decade — would do. Like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, he seems to be following Vice President Joe Biden's admonition at an AARP town hall meeting that "we've got to spend money to keep from going bankrupt." We suspect Reid's...

There was some obvious irony in Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich gleefully informing Greta Van Susteren that the final vote tally in New York’s 23rd Congressional District might award the House Seat to Conservative Doug Hoffman, in spite of all Newt’s efforts. Speaking during his “On the Record,” interview, Gingrich stated: “They (the Conservative Party on election night) were given bad information. They’d done far better in Doug’s key county. As the absentee ballots come in, it keeps getting narrower and narrower.” Greta situated the significance of Hoffman’s supposed loss perfectly when she linked it to the dramatic...

Your humble correspondent has just returned from the Caribbean paradise of Culebra. Politics were far from my mind as I snorkled the Culebran reefs. However, on my way home, I picked up a copy of the Puerto Rico Daily Sun in the western outskirts of San Juan and a certain story by Robert Friedman of their Washington, D.C. bureau caught my eye because it had the word "rum" in the title: "Debate heats up in D.C. over rum rebate." As a lover of that delightful beverage, I naturally scanned the story which, much to my amusement, illustrated the state of...

Failure to buy health insurance in the just-passed health care bill could get you five years in jail with a $250,000 fine. How can violating a law that's unconstitutional be a felony, asks Investor's Business Daily (IBD)? The passage last Saturday night of the House health care measure by a fragile 220-215 margin may well prove to be a Pyrrhic victory. In polls, townhall meetings and tea parties, Americans have shown they don't want a "reform" that costs a staggering $1.2 trillion yet fails to meet the left's desire of insuring all the uninsured. And they certainly don't want a...

- By Ian RansomThere's little doubt that many are disgusted by the subterfuge that accompanied the passing of the "Pelosi Care" bill. If you're like me, you might even feel a tad sick, even after the encouraging signs of revival in VA, NJ and, yes, NY 23, where the GOP lost a battle so that authentic conservatism might soon win the war, as it were. Sarah Palin's response to the bill via Facebook, however, is inspiring enough for all of us and remains a potent warning. Her point about how the nation is speeding to the point of unrecognizability is...

... Buried in Nancy Pelosi's health-care bill is a provision that will partially repeal tax indexing for inflation, meaning that as their earnings rise over a lifetime these youngsters can look forward to paying higher rates even if their income gains aren't real. In order to raise enough money to make their plan look like it won't add to the deficit, House Democrats have deliberately not indexed two main tax features of their plan: the $500,000 threshold for the 5.4-percentage-point income tax surcharge; and the payroll level at which small businesses must pay a new 8% tax penalty for not...

How can a political party lose 2 governorships and claim it a victory? How can a political party win a single district in N.Y. while losing two states that voted for its leader a year ago and still claim victory? How can a House Speaker claim a victory and more votes for her health care scam, when the winner is a conservative blue-dog Democrat who is against the public-option? Nancy Pelosi, the Queen of Botox, made these asinine claims today after her party had their donkey asses kicked during the Tuesday night elections. Pelosi claimed: “From our perspective, we won...

It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress. -Mark Twain On the eve of becoming the first female Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, Democrat, squawked the following aspersions on the truth: * She intended to run the most honest, the most open, and the most ethical Congress in history. * She is ready to lead with Republicans, not in partisanship. * In this House, we may belong to different parties, but we serve one country. We stand united in our pride and prayers for our men and...

A few weeks ago, on a Thursday around noon, Nancy Pelosi whirls through the second floor of the Capitol in a sea-foam pantsuit with lots of gold jangling on her arms. The Speaker of the House, the highest-ranking woman in government and third in line to the president, is about to walk the pink-painted halls of her private chambers to another series of closed-door meetings with the Democratic caucus about the health-care bill. Today, she’s set up a powwow of progressives in one of her conference rooms, and another for the Blue Dogs down the hall, but first she has...

Here is video of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unveiling her House Health Care Bill that contains a "Public Option" at an event held today. The bill is called the "Affordable Health Care Act for America," and would result in a Government-run Health Care option. Interestingly, Pelosi's unveiling took place outside the U.S. Capitol but was an event that was not open to the public, even though it took place in a public place to reveal a "Public Option." You can see what happened when someone tried to attend the event in the video below . . . (VIDEOS)

Rep. Bart Stupak said Speaker Pelosi is not pleased with his effort to change abortion-related provisions in the healthcare bill being crafted by the House. During an interview on C-SPAN's "Washington Journal" show, Stupak (D-Mich.) said he is undeterred in trying to ensure that taxpayer dollars do not pay for abortions. Stupak, who opposes abortion rights, acknowledged that some in his party are upset with his public campaign to change the bill. "The Speaker is not happy with me," Stupak said. The Energy and Commerce subcommittee chairman said he has been working with Democratic leaders on a compromise, but they...

Grayson: “You know…FOX News and their Republican collaborators are the enemy of America. And they’re certainly the enemy of peace, there’s no doubt about that. PRESIDENT OBAMA: "First of all, I don't think people quite understand, Nancy Pelosi is not simply the first woman Speaker of the House -- I think she's going to go down as one of the greatest Speakers of all time. And she's very nice and she's very friendly, but, boy, she is tough."

Yesterday, with great fanfare Nancy Pelosi suggested that public option of the Obamacare bill is doing poorly because of its name, and that it may be more attractive to skeptics if it goes by a different title. She was speaking at an appearance at a Florida senior center with Florida Rep Debbie Wasserman Schultz and suggested that a better name would be "the consumer option." Schultz, suggested the term "competitive option." The speaker said the "competitive option" idea emerged during her closed-door roundtable at the Sunrise Senior Center with advocates of seniors and others who work with older populations. Wasserman...

At the start of each new Congress, the entire House of Representatives and one-third of the Senate are sworn into office. The current oath was fashioned in the 1860s, by Civil War-era members of Congress. I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told a caucus of her members on Tuesday night that she's only eight votes short of passing a health care bill that includes a "robust public option." She expressed confidence a bill would pass the House in the near future. Not so fast. Moderate Blue Dog Democrats say they are increasingly nervous about voting on a bill before knowing exactly what the Senate would be willing to pass -- a fear exacerbated by yesterday's vote in which 12 Senate Democrats and Independent Joe Lieberman voted with Republicans against a budget-busting plan to adjust Medicare reimbursements for...

Earth: An environmental writer mainstreams an idea floating around the green fringe — save the earth by population control and give carbon credits to one-child families. Are we threatened by the patter of little carbon footprints? New York Times environmental writer Andrew Revkin participated in an Oct. 14 panel discussion on climate change with other media pundits titled "Covering Climate: What's Population Got To Do With It?" People who need people they are not. In a recently rediscovered book, "Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment," co-authored with Malthus fans Paul and Anne Ehrlich, Holdren wrote that families "contribute to general social deterioration...

'Hate' Crimes: The House has voted to make it a federal crime to assault people because of their sexual orientation. Aside from violating the Constitution's equal-protection clause, just what does this have to do with national defense? The House voted 281 to 146 Thursday to make it a crime to attack homosexuals and others. The measure was attached to a must-pass $680 billion defense bill. We think the amendment itself is a crime against common sense and the law. Saying "it's a very exciting day for us here in the Capitol," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi praised the passage of the...

Here is video of Nancy Pelosi today reminding all Americans - just in case we forgot - that she is the "first woman Speaker of the House." "I'm in my place," she said, as she reacted to GOP critics who said Gen. Stanley McChrystal should "put her in her place," as a result of her comments slamming Gen. McChrystal over his London response to a question about Strategy in Afghanistan. Pelosi said:"That language is something I haven't even heard in decades." "I'm in my place. Earlier this week the National Republican Congressional Committee released a statement on Nancy Pelosi's sudden departure from her insistence that the war in Afghanistan was the "real central front" in the war on terror: "If Nancy Pelosi’s failed economic policies are any indicator of the effect she may have on Afghanistan, taxpayers can only hope McChrystal is able to put her in her place." Nancy Pelosi and her fellow democrats responded like, well... liberals. They ignored the facts and made an emotional appeal. They ignored the first part of the statement, and played up the meaningless ending. In short, Pelosi...

Here is video of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on the Charlie Rose Show slamming Gen. Stanley McChrystal "with all due respect." Pelosi praised the proposed strategy for Afghanistan being put forward by Vice-President Joe Biden as one that "has currency" among the American people and members of Congress. She then said Gen. McChrystal should be giving advice to the President "through the chain of command," not "in press conferences." She was slamming comments made by McChrystal during a Q & A session in London following a speech he gave there last week. McChrystal never mentioned Biden's name, but was asked...

War Strategy: When Bush and Petraeus proposed the surge in Iraq, Democrats demanded that the general testify before Congress. So why has the Senate blocked a similar invitation to our commander in Afghanistan? Those with memories longer than the 24-hour news cycle recall that in the dark days of the Iraq War, David Petraeus was summoned to Washington to explain the surge strategy that would eventually lead to victory in Iraq. Democrats hoped for a show trial. MoveOn.org took out a full-page ad in the New York Times labeling the commanding general of our efforts in Iraq "General Betray-us." Then...

The National Republican Congressional Committee is urging Gen. Stanley McCrystal to put House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "in her place" for weighing in on Afghanistan -- prompting one female Pelosi ally to blast the House GOP as "80 percent male," "100 percent white" -- and completely out of touch. On Monday night, Pelosi told Charlie Rose "should go up the line of command" instead of publicly opining on strategy -- prompting a swift, sneering reaction from the GOP committee. Mocking the first female speaker as "General Pelosi," an NRCC spokesman wrote, "If Nancy Pelosi’s failed economic policies are any indicator of...
