JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- A state senator wants to force Missouri stores to sell warm beer. Under a bill by Sen. Bill Alter, grocery and convenience stores would risk losing their liquor licenses if they sold beer colder than 60 degrees. The intent is to cut down on drunken driving by making it less tempting to pop open a beer after leaving the store. "The only reason why beer would need to be cold is so that it can be consumed right away," Alter, who has been a police offer for more than 20 years, said Thursday.

Funny thing came to my mind just recently, With all of those stories on Free Republic on how the world hates us and all that? I wonder if someday the world will gang up on the U.S. A old quote I remember my pricipal saying when I was in school was "Whatever bad things you do, Will come back to you harder" and it seems after couple of centuries of bringing hatred, segregation and so on to the world. Regarding "Filibuster's traditional use is ignored" (Letters, Wednesday): The writer said the filibuster has never been used before to block a judicial nominee. The truth is that during the Clinton administration, 60 judicial nominees were blocked by Republicans, using means including the filibuster. In fact, Bill Frist even joined in the filibuster of 9th Circuit nominee Richard Paez. Also, Democrats have approved more than 200 of President Bush's judicial nominees while only 10 have been blocked. For Republicans to make such a big deal over those 10 nominations while they blocked 60 of Clinton's nominees is extremely misleading and hypocritical....

Hi I am conservative young man who has problem. My wife of few years wants a divorce. As conservative I want to keep strong the family values but I guess divorce is ok because many of us conservative get divorced like Rush (3 times now.) and who can forget Newt serving divorce papers to his wife as she sick with cancer. So I guess divorce is ok but gay marriage destroys the institution of marriage and must be fought against. How is it that when Jesus tells us not to get divorces we conservatives go ahead and get them anyways...
