Somebody asked me if I were a man of the right. Enthusiastically and euphorically I answered, "Yes." On answering, I was already waiting for the concise and venomous little question that would come next: "Of the extreme right, then?" The poor fellow who formulated the question thought he was clever, as if clever and insidious were synonymous. "Read my next article," I retorted. And with this, I was clever and insidious. Clever, because I gained a reader for the monotonous commentary that follows. And insidious, because his curiosity will lead him to read this monotony tract from beginning to end....

Ron Reagan Wrong on Stem Cells Thursday, July 15, 2004 By Steven Milloy Ron Reagan, the younger son of the late Republican president, announced this week that he would give a prime-time address in support of stem cell research at the Democratic National Convention in Boston later this month. "Ron Reagan's courageous pleas for stem cell research add a powerful voice to the millions of Americans hoping for cures for their children, for their parents and for their grandparents," said a spokesman for John Kerry to the Associated Press. Reagan told the Philadelphia Inquirer that the speech was intended "to...

Violence finally forced US to follow path suggested by Britain last year By Anton La Guardia, Diplomatic Editor (Filed: 29/06/2004) A month before the war in Iraq, hundreds of American officials secretly gathered in a Washington auditorium for a "rock drill" - the US military term for a meeting to plan scenarios - to decide how Iraq would be run after the downfall of Saddam Hussein. It included a small band of British officials who had been drawing up options for an international administration in Iraq lasting up to two years, based on previous experiences in Cambodia, East Timor and...

He was lauded with a 20-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival. A.O. Scott of the New York Times calls his movie a "passionate expression of outraged patriotism." At the June showing of "Fahrenheit 911" before the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science in Los Angeles, he received a standing ovation of over a minute. And Michael Moore's most recent work spits in the face of my dead countrymen. As yet another innocent person has their head severed by Islamic "extremists," Moore apparently glosses over the fact that democracy, in general – and America, specifically – is under...

Am I the only one who just saw an ad showing Kerry defending communism as a young man testifying before congress, followed up by Reagan's "tear down this wall" and then W at Ground Zero talking about the terrorists "hearing from all of us"? This is the first time I've seen this ad - "John Kerry, Wrong Then, Wrong Now". Fantastic!! Anyone know anything more about this ad? Maybe the first shot in our 527 campaign???

Condoleezza Rice political cartoon.Apr. 10, 2004... Getting it right Editorial column by Roger Wm. Hughes A majority of Americans now say according to a recent poll that the Bush Administration could have done more to have stopped the 9/11 terrorist attacks and that the cost of the war in Iraq is not worth it. Troubling news for the Republic. One of the long held views that seems to be true is that democracies, even those tempered by being a Republic, are slow to act and go to war. This is true even when they need to do so to protect...

AUDREY, MEET HARVEY by Timothy Rollins, Editor and Publisher April 2, 2004 Audrey Seiler (right) wasn't kidnapped at all it seems, but the whole story was a hoax - or rather - a pile of crap concocted by pathetic Audrey from the beginning. We see Audrey is but yet another sickening young twenty-something screaming for attention in perhaps the most insidious and yet odious way imaginable. With the news coming out of Madison that the University of Wisconsin coed did indeed lie about being kidnapped and that police have dropped their manhunt for a suspect that in fact never existed,...

By conventional analysis, the stunning and overwhelming passage of Propositions 57 and 58 has placed California on the road to fiscal recovery.

The unprecedented $15 billion bond gives the Legislature and the administration the time they need to put the state's finances in order. The stern spending limits in Prop. 58 will give the governor added tools to restrain state spending. The big margin of victory greatly enhances the governor's political clout with the Legislature to win tough reforms. As those reforms take effect and the economy responds, state revenue will grow quickly to absorb the $1.5 billion in annual debt repayments that Prop. 57 will require.

I can respect those Senators that voted to authorize the use of force in Iraq & voted for the $87 billion to fund the troops. That list includes the following Democrats: Baucus (D-MT) Bayh (D-IN) Biden (D-DE) Cantwell (D-WA) Carper (D-DE) Clinton (D-NY) Daschle (D-SD) Dodd (D-CT) Feinstein (D-CA) Johnson (D-SD) Kohl (D-WI) Landrieu (D-LA) Lieberman (D-CT) Lincoln (D-AR) Miller (D-GA) Nelson (D-FL) Nelson (D-NE) Reid (D-NV) Rockefeller (D-WV) Schumer (D-NY) I guess Kerry needed to help Sens. Daschle, Clinton, etc. understand why it was wrong to vote to fund our troops. I can also somewhat respect those senators that...

We have moved the Anti-John Kerry Ads. Anyone that directly linked to them yesterday will need to update their links. This is a permanent location. Please visit http://naspino.com/media to access the videos. 1. We need video editing assistance, people to go through the videos and provide criticism so that they can be fine-tuned to impact swing voters. 2. We need voice over help, especially on the featured video regarding Kerry being the most liberal senator. If you have a good voice (especially an "ominous" one) then Freep-Mail jmstein7 or myself. 3. We need background music help. I'm thinking of ad...

I have been reading with great interest Freepers’ comments about amnesty for illegal immigrants, as this is an issue I have wrestled with for some time now. As a Christian, I believe it is our duty to help and assist as many people as we can. With illegals, you have a group of people (in many circumstances) who are trying to better themselves and the life of their family. On the flip side, it puts an inordinate amount of stress on US state and national resources, i.e. education and medical to name a couple. So I pose this question to...

When U.S. Army Maj. Joe Cherry left his federal job at the National Labor Relations Board in Chicago because he was called up to fight the war in Iraq he received an unexpected going-away present. The major wouldn't have to worry whether his government job would be there when he returned - the federal government made that decision for him, firing him on the spot. Cherry is not alone. In the last five years 5,690 veterans have lost their jobs in both the private and public sectors while activated to serve a tour of duty, according to a U.S. Department...

We disagree with Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge's remarks on Wednesday supporting the legalization of millions of illegal immigrants now living in the United States. Speaking at a town hall meeting in Miami Wednesday, Mr. Ridge declared that the government "had to come to grips with the presence of 8 million to 12 million illegals" now in the country, in order "to afford them some kind of legal status some way." While Mr. Ridge said he was not advocating the granting of citizenship to this group, history suggests that legalization is often a first step in that direction. The idea of legalization is not new for the Bush administration; it was seriously considering granting permanent residency for illegals right before the September 11 attacks. Late Wednesday, Asa Hutchinson, undersecretary for border and transportation security, said that Mr. Ridge's remarks simply reflected the congressional debate on immigration, and that the administration had not taken a firm policy stance on the matter. But even a soft policy stance would be unacceptable.

Printable Version What I Like And Dislike Nov. 23, 2003 Andy Rooney loves a short nap. He doesn't like wasting 8 hours in bed at night. There are a lot of things I don't like. But there are a lot I do like, too. I thought I'd run through some of them. I love to go to bed at night and I love to get...

DENVER - The NFL has fined the Denver Broncos (news) for wearing the wrong uniforms in a game against San Diego, and it fined wide receiver Rod Smith (news) for accidentally hitting an official, according to published reports. Smith was fined $20,000 for striking umpire Undrey Wash during Monday night's 31-10 win over Oakland, The Post and the Rocky Mountain News reported. Smith got tangled with Raiders defensive tackle Chris Cooper...

Seventy percent of Texans believe homosexuality is morally wrong and a majority support amending the U.S. Constitution to ban gay marriage, according to the Scripps Howard Texas Poll. Seventeen percent of Texans don’t think homosexuality is morally wrong and 13 percent don’t know. Opinions on the morality of homosexuality remain virtually unchanged from 1999. "When you talk about morality, the church comes into effect," said Randall Ellis, executive director of the Lesbian/Gay Rights Lobby of Texas. "I think because Texas is in the Bible Belt that is reflected in that response. Churches have taken an anti-gay stance." Issues facing gays...

As of Saturday, July 20, 2002 at 2pm in Calhoun Georgia, at the Newtown Baptist Church, Darth Sidious exchanged wedding vows with his lovely Bride, Lisa. Yours truly was there to witness the happy event. Groom cried, Bride cried, I cried (Yeah, I decided to admit that before Darth gets the chance to spill the beans on me). The day before on Friday, I arrived in Atlanta and Darth himself picked me up at the airport for our very first face to face meeting. As delightful, as a terrific person as as he is online, he is ten million times...

PHOENIX - Jenny Lopez's home is a pile of rubble after a demolition crew mistakenly tore down the wrong house. The house that was supposed to be demolished Wednesday was across the street from Lopez's, where she had lived for 30 years. Although the home was vacant, the family stored household items there and had hoped to sell it. House numbers in the southwest Phoenix neighborhood are not well-marked and all the mailboxes sit on one side of the street, making identification difficult. Foresight Investment Group of Phoenix hired contractors to tear down the house across the street from Lopez's....

The murder of a skydiver who plunged to his death after his parachute was sabotaged may have been a "random act", the policeman leading the probe into his death has said. Detective Superintendent Colin Andrews said the victim, Stephen Hilder, 20, was "a popular, intelligent man with a bright future" and that the motive for his murder remains a "mystery". He added: "One thing we have to consider is that this was a random act and Stephen was in the wrong place at the wrong time." Mr Hilder, a 20-year-old Army cadet, plummeted 13,000ft to his death at Hibaldstow Airfield,...
