Poem for Terri
self | 10 20 2003 | Donna L Rogers

Posted on 10/20/2003 2:47:44 PM PDT by DonnaLR

How can it be for a court to decide When and just how you should die Greer's orders? will all really abide I pray they wont, what a horrible guy

Vegetative state no way can you be I have seen your face on my PC screen Smiling, alert, happy is what I can see While all around you is less than serene

Darling Terri What would you want No directive we can only guess Husband says death Mom says not I pray your Mom that God will bless

My cousin Jeb doing all that he can He has called a special session today For "Terri's bill" to stop cruel starvation's Please dear God let it pass swiftly I pray Donna L Rogers Graphics artist Vacaville Calif

I sent a FAX to our local TV Channel 47 this morning telling them their reporting on this story was all wrong. I referred them to Terri's website. For what it's worth.

So where's the ACLU to protect Terri's rights? If I were Terri's parents, I would ask they to intervene. And if the ACLU didn't take the case, I'd sue the ACLU for all they are worth.

The other night I did see one of the female anchors refer to Terri as brain damaged instead of comatose or vegetative. Those anchors are few and far between though :-(

Is it just me, or have we had just a sh*tload of people sign up in the past few weeks just about this? And many of them seem to have real hatred for Jeb Bush.
<p.
Is this poster the same as "DonnaL" who posted another vanity on the 19th?

Who has hatred for Jeb Bush?

I have always liked Jeb Bush, and always thought he could be an even better president then his Brother someday. I hope he can address this situation. But, if he doesn't, I am really going to question his leadership. That's fair, isn't it? Don't we jusge leaders on their actions?

First of all, if Terri is saved, wonderful. But from where I sit, I suspect lots of DU lurkers signing up to try and stir things up and watch some people go off the deep end over this. Fits right into their stereotypes.

A huge number, based on the posts I've seen. I've seen some say he will have blood on his hands if this isn't stopped. Some say they'll never support him again and have called him everything short of the Antichrist.

Is their any indication they had a prejudice against Governor Bush before this event?

Hard to say if "there" was, since many have, as I said, just signed up.

Like I said, I have always thought that Jeb Bush would probably make the best president in the whole family. But if he doesn't intervene, it is likely I wouldn't support him for president. Is that wrong of me?

There are certain qualities a leader needs to have. If the Founding Fathers ``played it safe,'' we wouldn't have the United States.

I haven't noticed as many new Freepers as you have, a lot of long time Freepers are very involved in the terri Schiavo case. But, if lots of new Freepers are signing up, great. That's what Free Republic is here for. How many signed up during impeachment? During the Florida election crisis?

It's neither right nor wrong. You make your opinion based on whatever criteria you wish. Is there some other candidate/potential candidate whom you believe would have intervened if they were in Jeb's shoes? And do you have any proof that they would have done so?
