RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Officials at the South Carolina Emergency Management Division say Beaver Creek Dam at Wildewood will fail soon. SCEMD says they are initiating a controlled breach to relieve pressure and prevent further flooding. Residents in the area will be contacted to begin evacuations of the lower regions at Beaver Creek. Officials note that the evacuations are not mandatory. Anyone who evacuates the area would have to go to A.C. Flora High or make their own arrangements.
