(WCSC) - South Carolina investigators say wild boars are to blame for a series of possible attacks on horses in the state. Officials with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division announced on Wednesday that a joint investigation by several law enforcement agencies has been closed based on evidence that the attacks in the Upstate were the results of altercations with boars in the area. The investigation involved five incidents that took place within a four-week...

Guess who's not getting into Paradise Wild boars mauled three Islamic State fighters to death near Kirkuk, Iraq, according to (mildly hilarious) media reports. “The jihadists’ bodies were found badly mangled by refugees fleeing through farmland as they tried to get away from ISIL territory in al-Rashad, southwest of the city,” the Telegraph (UK) reports. “ISIL fighters responded to the deaths by going on a killing spree of wild boars in the area, said Brigadier Azad Jelal, the deputy head of the Kurdish intelligence service in Kirkuk.” (Islamic State is also known as ISIL, ISIS, and Daesh.)

Th-th-th-th-th-th-that's all folks! I can’t decide if I should drop some serious spiritual commentary on you - about my longstanding theory that animals are more attuned than humans to the presence of spiritual evil - or make some wise-# remark. There’s really no wrong way to give you news like this, because it’s simply too good: Three ISIS militants were mauled to death by a herd of wild boar moments after committing a massacre. Five other terrorists were injured in the rampage by the beasts who attacked them in southern Kirkuk.

About 20 wild boars have destroyed more than half a dozen lawns, neighbors sayFront yards are being ripped up in a San Jose neighborhood, and while residents are well aware of who the culprits are, there's very little they can do. The torn-up lawns are the work of wild pigs on a feeding frenzy, residents said. They strike in the middle of the night, digging up lawns in the Evergreen neighborhood of South San Jose. "They came in and ... I saw a huge pack of them, and they were effectively ripping up the sod," resident Rod Murchison said. Murchison...
  • Wild boars with razor-sharp tusks invade upstate New York

PERU, N.Y. — They roam by night, picking cornstalks clean, making off with apple crops. They have almost no natural predators, but they have razor-sharp tusks and a seemingly bottomless appetite for plants and animals. Their population can triple in one year. They are feral pigs, and while they have long plagued parts of the Southern and Western United States, now they have become a problem in the peaceful Champlain Valley of New York, an agricultural heartland on the edge of the Adirondacks.

Radioactive Wild Boars Increase in Number By Jennifer Viegas Radioactive wild boars are on the rise in Germany, where they have attacked and frightened residents, even snarling traffic when they gang up on roadways, according to Spiegel International Online and numerous other media reports over the past couple of weeks. Their radioactivity stems from Ukraine's Chernobyl nuclear meltdown, which happened way back in 1986, but contaminated much of Europe. Apparently the nuclear contamination is still detectable in some animals, including Germany's wild boars. The Spiegel report mentions that German government payments compensating hunters for lost income due to radioactive wild...
