Thai cave boys leave monastery after novice monkhood

Eleven of the Wild Boars youth football team were ordained novices in memory of a diver who died during their rescue.

Their 25-year-old coach, who has received monk's orders, will stay on for three months. One of the boys did not participate as he is a Christian

And walking the streets in saffron robes carrying a bowl for passersby to put food in. A bit different passage rite than young Mormons on bicycles in black suits and ties.

I was on a foodie tour in Thailand earlier this year, and when we were in Chiang Mai we bought food and gave it the monks.

I am very proud of the Christian. It isn’t easy to take a stand like that, at any age, when all your best buddies are going in another direction.

Good point, that. And I hope that in his Christian way, he gave good witness to the Faith as these young Buddhists have done. As you say, he does not lack courage.
