Stacey Abrams lost. You may remember her — she’s the lady who wanted to ban the most popular hunting rifle in America for confusing reasons (for example: it’s dangerous) yet who wouldn’t answer questions of confiscation (twice, covered here and here). Also let by the wayside on Tuesday: Florida’s Andrew Gillum. He’s the mayor of Tallahassee who was vying for the governorship. Abrams was shootin’ for the same, in Georgia. The two have a couple things in common: they’re Democrats, and… brace yourself…I know this is triggering… they’re black. Yes. Black. Take off your hoods and let that sink in....

Recently a friend described a meeting with a nasty-tempered leftist who was from a rich family. Unfortunately, there are a lot of leftists who were born with a silver spoon in their mouth -- and, instead of being grateful, are venomous against American society. Conversely, there are people like yours truly who were born on the other end of the economic scale and think this is a great country. No one has really explained either of these phenomena. Maybe a painful confrontation with the facts of life early on makes it harder in later years to get all worked up...
