In the early to mid 90's I listened to a show on Sunday night on KKLA (99.5 FM), a Christian radio station in LA, that was like The Prairie Home Companion, only decidedly Christian. Does anyone remember or know what this show was? I'm sure it was syndicated and broadcast in markets across the country. The Sunday night lineup (25 years ago now) included the White Horse Inn Lutheran apologetics program and this Prairie Home Companion like show. Does anyone remember or know the name of this show?

The purest form of religion on earth, says Rome, is to bow before a piece of bread and worship it. “The Eucharist is ‘the source and summit of the Christian life,’ ” and “is the heart and the summit of the Church’s life,” says the Catechism of the Catholic Church (1324, 1407). And “the prayer of thanksgiving and consecration,” is “the heart and summit of the celebration” (1352). It is at the utterance of the consecration, the priest’s words, “This is My body,” and “This is the cup of My blood,” that the bread and wine are said to...

In his interview with Larry King (CNN, June 20, 2005), Joel Osteen said that he is not sure what happens to people who reject Christ. King followed up with the question about Jews, Moslems, and other non-Christians. “They’re wrong, aren’t they?” Osteen replied, “Well, I don’t know if I believe they’re wrong. I believe here’s what the Bible teaches and from the Christian faith this is what I believe. But I just think that only God will judge a person’s heart. I spent a lot of time in India with my father. I don’t know all about their religion. But...

Hello and welcome to another edition of the White Horse Inn. In 2007, the Willow Creek Community Church provoked media attention when the mega-church pioneer published the results of its marketing analysis that led its leaders to conclude that its widely influential model of church growth was flawed. Senior pastor Bill Hybels responded to the research by saying that it "did not shine brightly on our church." "[A]mong the findings," he writes, "one out of every four people at Willow Creek was stalled in their spiritual growth or dissatisfied with the church-and many of them were considering leaving." The report...
