Easement acquisition stirs anger By RITCHIE E. STARNES - WEDDINGTON Several property owners in Weddington are still fuming about how Union County officials seemingly fast-tracked the condemnation of their land to help build a sewer-trunk line for developers in 2002. According to papers filed with a district justice: Weiland entered the grocery portion of Wal-Mart at about 6:30 p.m. May 22, took a brown paper bag off a shelf and put a bag of coleslaw inside.
