Some polling earlier this month suggested that the South Dakota Senate race might be unexpectedly competitive, but a new poll shows Republican candidate Mike Rounds with a significant lead 10 days before the election. Rounds is taking 43 percent of the vote, according to the NBC/Marist poll released Sunday. Democratic candidate Rick Weiland is at 29 percent and former GOP Sen. LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The wife of Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland was arrested and faces a possible arson charge for setting on fire some $10,000 worth of her husband's clothes, police said on Monday. Mary Weiland was arrested on Saturday at the Burbank home she shares with the singer, according to police. After being booked at the Burbank jail, she was released on $50,000 bond, police said. No further details were released on the arson.
