• VIDEO: Scott Adams Predicts Demise of VOX and Daily Beast Within a Year

VIDEO The creator of the Dilbert cartoon strip, Scott Adams, who has an amazingly accurate track record for his predictions has predicted the demise of both Vox and the Daily Beast within a year. A big part of the reason is that both these outlets, especially Vox, have been at the forefront of promoting widespread censorship on YouTube and the rest of the social media.

Demonetization is when the platform deems you too controversial to be a money partner with them for their ad clicks. A harmless Australian channel with nature sounds and relaxation music was demonetized by YouTube during the purge of "hate speech" channels in the wake of the Steven Crowder/Vox.com battle. This is not a political channel but it somehow has been tossed into the battle. YouTube revenue is their lone source of income (granted, not the wisest choice but if you live out in remote Australia, you might have few ways to make a buck).

Vox reporter Carlos Maza, whose pressure campaign against YouTube contributed to the mass-demonetization and banning of independent media and right-wing channels, is a former Media Matters employee who defended the violent Antifa movement. The Vox reporter who YouTube listened to, causing the #VoxAdpocalypse, also encouraged the recent trend physical attacks against pro-Brexit politicians in the United Kingdom, in which left-wing protesters hurled milkshakes at them. “Milkshake them all,” said Maza on Twitter, which has not restricted his account for promoting physical assaults on politicians.

YouTube is investigating conservative commentator Steven Crowder after Vox host Carlos Maza accused him of harassment and making derogatory comments about his ethnicity and sexuality. YouTube responded to Maza's tweet thread detailing his allegations, saying that it was "looking into it further." The company also confirmed to The Hill that it was investigating in response to Maza's thread, but declined to comment further. Maza, the host of Vox's media literacy series "Strikethrough," accused Crowder on Twitter this week of "repeated, overt attacks on my sexual orientation and ethnicity." He said that the pundit has called him "an anchor baby" and...
  • Vox: Daenerys Was Right To Burn King’s Landing To Establish A Strong Central Government

There’s a well-worn saying on the right: Scratch a progressive, find a fascist. Usually, that’s a bit of hyperbole to point toward the tendency of progressives to embrace top-down, big government solutions to every problem. But in this case, it’s almost literally true, though the real progressive is embracing a fictional fascist from the show Game of Thrones. Vox’s Matt Yglesias published a piece yesterday at Vox arguing that Daenerys was right to burn people alive in the city of King’s Landing because she needed to convince the entire kingdom not to question the dictates of a powerful central government.

President Donald Trump wants you to believe that he had no way of knowing about former national security adviser Michael Flynn’s shady dealings with Russia before he made him his first national security adviser. In reality, the president is trying to rewrite history. On Friday, Trump tweeted his lament that nobody warned him about Flynn, a retired Army lieutenant general who was dismissed from his job as director of national intelligence by then-President Barack Obama in 2014. After his dismissal, Flynn wasted little time cozying up to the Kremlin, and then spent 2016 as one of Trump’s key campaign surrogates....
  • Flight attendants know the real job killer isn’t the Green New Deal. It’s climate change.

**SNIP** In my 23 years as a flight attendant and president of our union representing 50,000 others, I know firsthand the threat climate change poses to our safety and our jobs. But flight attendants and airline workers have been told by some pundits that the Green New Deal, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Ed Markey’s environmental proposal, will ground all air travel. That’s absurd. It’s not the solutions to climate change that kills jobs. Climate change itself is the job killer. Severe turbulence is becoming more frequent and intense due in part to climate change. Research indicates that rising CO2...

Some 50 years ago, in 1964, 42 percent of Americans smoked cigarettes. Smoking in bars and offices was normal and cigarettes were given to soldiers as part of military rations. Half of American physicians smoked. Ads for cigarettes bombarded the American public. That year, the surgeon general released a report outlining the health risks of smoking. Two years later, only 40 percent of Americans said that they believed smoking was a major cause of cancer.

RUSH: In the latest effort to get Donald Trump, there is a leak to Axios, which is a website along the lines… It’s an offshoot of Politico and Vox and so forth. It’s basically some attempt at newfangled journalism where every paragraph you stop and say, “What does it mean?” Then you write another paragraph, “What is this about?” Then you write another paragraph and you say, “What’s the future?” Then you write, “Why is it important?” and so forth. It’s just a new way of presenting the news. Apparently, “[a] White House source has leaked nearly every day of...

An article about the practice sparked outrage over income inequality. Luxury yachts in St. Tropez. Frédéric Soltan/Corbis via Getty Images People who own yachts have lots of things to worry about. Is a yacht a good financial investment? (Usually not.) Will a group of class-warfare-waging rascals untie the boat from its dock, causing thousands of dollars in damage? (If you're Betsy DeVos, yes.) And then there's the latest concern plaguing superyacht owners: Is a yacht really a good place to store an art collection, which is worth more than the yacht itself? A growing number of billionaires -- at least...

On one hand NBCUniversal is telling us it is serious about news objectivity, while on the other hand, and mostly under the radar, NBC is funneling an astonishing $400 million in capital into two of the most extreme left-wing news outlets in America: BuzzFeed and Vox. One need only watch 10 minutes of MSNBC to understand that NBC News is an extremist organization in favor of open borders, partial birth abortion, the government setting CEO pay, and destroying people’s lives through the pushing of the Climate Change hoax. Unfortunately for NBC, though, the MSNBC experiment only resulted in a ratings...

As the partial government shutdown stretches on with no clear end in sight, it’s affecting US embassy staff around the world — and making it harder for the US to conduct diplomacy abroad. Many of the State Department’s roughly 75,000 employees — 50,000 are employed locally in US embassies abroad — have found trouble progressing with their work and even, in some cases, struggling to put food on the table while they wait for the White House and Congress to strike a deal. That’s a big problem, since the State Department is America’s leading foreign relations agency. It now means...

John Dingell knows a thing or two about how Congress works. First elected to the US House of Representatives at age 29 in a 1955 special election, Dingell left office in January 2015, nearly 60 years later. The last president he served with, Barack Obama, was born six years after Dingell entered office. His tenure was the longest in the history of the House or Senate, outlasting stalwarts like Strom Thurmond and Ted Kennedy by more than a decade. So his call to abolish the Senate, announced in an Atlantic excerpt from his new memoir, is pretty notable. He pairs...

MADRID — Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s Socialist Party took a beating Sunday in an election in Andalusia that saw the far right win seats in one of the country’s regional parliaments for the first time in decades. The Socialists (PSOE) — which have ruled the southern region uninterrupted for 36 years — came in first but could lose their grip on power if parties on the right team up against them. Juanma Moreno — the local leader of the Popular Party — said as the results came in that he would try to replace the Socialists’ incumbent regional leader,...

Johnny Harris of Vox reported on the enormous numbers of refugees who have fled from Venezuela and crossed the border to live in Colombia. Since Venezuela has the largest proven oil reserves in the world, one might wonder how it came to be an economic basket case where inflation is so high that the paper currency needed to buy a roll of toilet paper would actually be more useful to use in the desired function than the product it is supposed to purchase. Here is Johnny Harris reporting on the what but never on the why of the Venezuelan refugee crises....

The debate over marijuana legalization is just one of the many ways the political landscape is changing as the US comes to terms with drug and criminal justice policies that many experts and Americans consider to have failed at a great cost to the nation’s liberty and finances. The war on marijuana in particular has cost the US billions of dollars over decades, led to a black market for pot that criminal organizations use to fund violent operations, and contributed to the explosive growth of America’s incarcerated population, which is now the largest in the world. And despite those costs,...
